6 Cool Things To Do In LA With Friends Who Are Visiting & Want To Feel Like Locals

When you have friends coming to town, you're beyond thrilled. This is your time to show them all the local hot spots and your favorite hidden gems. There are always the tourist attractions you could take them to, but you want to give your crew a really cool experience they'll never forget. Trying to think outside of the box can be difficult when you don't have a game plan going into the weekend. That's why you need this list of really cool things to do in LA with friends who are visiting and want to feel like locals. Consider the hard work done for you.

My sister visits me in LA at least once a year. Of course, we always do the things she loves but can't do in Florida, like eat at In-N-Out and see the Hollywood sign. However, I don't want our sisterly time to be the same old routine. That's why I always switch things up. After taking her to the touristy spots she loves and my personal favorites, I started coming up with new itineraries.

If you're looking for a special time in LA that's different from everyone else, you might want to check out any of these six unique activities. Maybe you'll stumble upon even more cool experiences during your adventuring.

,

1. Visit The Exposition Park Rose Garden For The Most Beautiful Blooms

Exposition Park has a ton of museums you can check out on any given day in LA. I personally love seeing the Space Shuttle at the California Science Center since I grew up in Cape Canaveral, but there's something else you should see as well.

The Rose Garden in Exposition Park is a must for anyone who likes to stop and smell the roses. Walk through rows and rows of gorgeous rose bushes and snap a few selfies together in front of the blooms.

2. Stroll Through The Art Walk In Downtown And Snap A Pic (Or A Few)

There are more than a few picture-perfect walls throughout LA. For instance, there's the iconic pink Paul Smith Wall on Melrose that's necessary for your Instagram feed. There's also the Art Walk in downtown LA the second Thursday of the month that's worth checking out. You never know what kind of art you may see and want to snap a selfie in front of.

3. Get Latte Art At Carrera Cafe

During your LA adventures, you'll eventually want to chill and grab some coffee. That's why I recommend stopping at Carrera Cafe on Melrose Ave. It's an extremely Instagrammable spot with delicious croissants and pastries, but their latte art really takes the spotlight. You can give them any photo you want, and they'll put it in the foam. I've done pictures of myself and celebrities before, and they make for quality content.

4. Have Pancakes At The Griddle Cafe For A Foodie's Dream Come True

One of the first places I had brunch when I visited LA was The Griddle Cafe in Hollywood. If you're obsessed with pancakes, you'll instantly fall in love with this place. They have giant stacks of pancakes that are stuffed and topped with pretty much everything your heart could desire. (You might want to split some with your friends because they really are huge.)

5. Hike To The Wisdom Tree For Gorgeous Views Of The Skyline

Your friends' LA trip without be complete without at least one hike. The Griffith Observatory and Hollywood Sign are really popular places to hike to, which is why you should check out the Wisdom Tree instead. It's a singular tree sitting on top of the hill with a gorgeous view of the city skyline. Once you reach the top, take a moment to reflect on the good times you've had with your friends and the potential adventures to come.

6. Get Boba Tea At Boba Guys And Snap A Sippin' Selfie

You may want to make a pit stop for boba tea, and I highly recommend Boba Guys. This place has delicious drinks, including a strawberry matcha latte that's also Instagram-worthy when it first comes to you, because it shows the three different layers you have to mix together. There's also the refreshing strawberry jasmine tea fresca if you want something on the lighter side.

5 Moments From 'Friends' About Friendship That Pretty Much Sum Up Your Crew

I love the sitcom Friends. I know my obsession with this show isn't surprising or that unique, but I can't help but proclaim my love for the funny moments in Central Perk, purple apartment in New York City, and awkward first dates. Don't even get me started on the moments from Friends about friendship, because they pretty much sum up my friend group.

Actually, we can talk about those moments, because you just might feel the same way. You can quote every single episode from the 10 seasons, and even tell the members of your crew which outfits Rachel wore when she ran into the "yeti" in the basement, interviewed for a job at Bloomingdale's, and hung out at the museum with Ross.

I'd even be willing to bet you've scoped out the coffee shops in your area, in hopes that you and your crew could find your own orange couch to banter on. Of course, they've helped you out and even worn wedding dresses and tossed you a bouquet on a casual afternoon when you were feeling down. After all, that's what friends are for, and what happens in these amazing moments from Friends about friendships. It's wild how the scenes from this show pretty much sum up your friend group, too, huh?

,

1. When Nobody Is Ready To Go Out

Favorite Videos on YouTube

The first of these moments is when nobody's ready to go out to Ross's big event. Chandler and Joey are fighting over who gets to sit in the chair, and Rachel keeps going back into her closet with new outfit options for the gang to vote on. The only one who's really put together is Phoebe. To say the least, Ross gets frustrated as the taxis arrive outside the apartment building. It's a total mess until suddenly the gang is on their way to the event and wearing the proper attire.

Every time you watch this episode and all the chaos goes down, it may remind you of Friday and Saturday nights with your friend group. Typically, you're all rushing around half-distracted, too, getting second opinions on outfits and trying to confirm when everybody is actually leaving. In five minutes, maybe?

2. When Chandler And Monica Are Secretly Dating

Favorite Videos on YouTube

Your friend group is open and honest with each other, but every once in a while, there may be a secret that nobody knows about. Someone might have a secret crush, or there's a story about Disney World and tacos that's remained on the DL. Eventually, the story gets told, but until then, your lives are like Chandler and Monica when they were secretly dating.

During that time period of the show, the new couple dealt with a whole bunch of cover-ups that involved kissing, diving into a bubble bath, and explaining Polaroid pictures in the apartment. They pretended they were doing laundry or going on business trips when they were really hanging out.

Of course, when the secret was finally revealed the entire gang was supportive and happy for them. That's also very similar to your crew, who cheers each other on at every major life event.

3. When Ross Buys A Couch And Has To Move It

Favorite Videos on YouTube

If #adulting has taught you anything, it's that friends come in handy for many reasons. Other than texting you about the new and exciting drama on Bachelor in Paradise at midnight and being there on your wedding day, they're also the main people you go to when there's a job to get done. They help you move out or in, drive you to the airport, and pivot a couch up a flight of stairs.

The episode when Ross buys a couch and has to bring it to his place reminds you of this every time. As Rachel and Chandler help him maneuver it up the tiny flight of stairs, you laugh and think, "This would totally be my friend group too." What can I say, there's a reason why the show is called Friends.

4. When Monica Gets Stung By A Jellyfish

Favorite Videos on YouTube

The people in your friend group would do just about anything for you. They'd bring you an extra fork if there was a particularly tasty cheesecake sitting in the hallway. And TBH, if you were stung by a jellyfish, they may even summon up the courage to pee on you.

Monica, Chandler, and Joey were in that exact situation in Friends, and proved that it's what some friends would do for each other. They do what they can to make the other person feel better, even if it means going through an awkward and embarrassing moment together. They pick each other up when they're feeling down, or when it hasn't been their day, month, or even year. (OK, you get the point.)

5. When They Quiz Each Other

Favorite Videos on YouTube

Last but not least, one of the best friendship moments in Friends that totally reminds you of your friend group is when the gang quizzes each other. They set up a Jeopardy-style game and ask each other questions like, "What is Monica's biggest pet peeve?" and "What's Chandler Bing's job?" (Was that one even fair? Come on!)

The best part? Each member of the friend group knows the majority of the answers within seconds. They know how many categories of towels Monica has, and what Chandler's name reads on his magazine subscription. It's an amazing moment when they realize how well they've gotten to know each other over the years and how integrated they are in each other's lives.

You could say that you and your friend group are the exact same way, knowing exactly what each other's order are at the coffee shop or which condiment a particular BFF likes best with their fries. What more could you ask for?

20 Memes To Send Your Partner If You’re Trying To Sext A Little Somethin’ Somethin’

$

Are you awkward AF at starting a sexting conversation? Me too. I have a very, very low cheesiness ceiling, and thus, if I want to feel sexy or romantic, the conversation has to be equally funny, too. If you're someone who really appreciates traditional romance like poems and rose petals, that's awesome, but if you want to get in these pants, the only bone I'm interested in seeing (to begin with, at least) is the funny bone. This is where sexy memes come in, and having a few memes to send your partner to let them know you want to get down and dirty, digital-style, can both kick things off and make you laugh. To me, nothing is hotter than that combo.

The good news is, theres no shortage of options floating around on social media. But, to separate the strong from the weak, memes should first and foremost be really laugh-out-loud, pee-in-your-pants funny. That could mean witty, clever, or even silly (who doesn't like a good dad joke, am I right?), so long as they make your partner laugh. Second, they've got to be a bit ~suggestive~. mean, thats kind of the whole point: Make bae laugh and turn them on. Not sure where to start? Here are 20 to help inspire you.

1. For When You Want To Be Subtle But Also Not So Subtle.

This is a great one to kick things off with, because you dont have to go too far out on a limb. But if they're into it, they will read you loud and clear.

2. For When You Aint Got No Time For Subtly At All.

Listen, sometimes you want to play it cool and ease into the conversation. But if you want to spice things up, just say exactly whats on your mind.

3. When Youre Feeling Like 100% That B*tch.

Because you are a work of art, and if you want to send nudes, do you boo. Just make sure to do so thoughtfully.

4. For When You Know They Need A Little Ego-Stroking To Kick Things Off.

Who doesn't want to know that their partner (or at least, their sexting partner) thinks they're sexy? Consider sending a message letting them know how hot you think they are as sexting foreplay.

5. For When You Really Want It Meow.

Cute and dirty, this meme is a perfectly cheeky way to let your boo know you're into getting freaky on the phone... and face-to-face.

6. For When You're Trying To Make It Clear Whats On Your Mind.

You can just caption this with same and bae should get the picture.

7. For When You Want To Give Them A Little Tease.

Give them a little taste of what's to come later: Your sweet, sweet moves.

8. When Laughter Is Their Biggest Turn-On.

Its funny because its true.

9. For When You Want Them To Know Exactly What Kind of Mood You're In.

Give them them heads up that you're on your way and that the roommates need to clear out for an hour or so.

10. For When You Want To Let Them Know What You're Working With.

Send this meme when you want to make them laugh, and then call that Uber.

11. For When You Have No Chill.

Or is this technically all chill? Either way, you and bae will be on the same page.

12. For When You Know What You Want And You Aren't Afraid To Just Say It.

Go on and get yours.

13. For When You Want To Giggle And Jiggle.

Again, its funny because it's true. So, so true.

14. *Opens Group Chat*

Send this meme to anyone with the sex is so good, you need universal healthcare to recover.

15. For When They're Taking Too Long To Get To Your Place.

Tick tock! The time is now, so get that booty over here.

16. When They Just Aren't Picking Up What You're Putting Down.

Sometimes bae just isn't getting the picture. In that case, spell it out for them with this meme.

17. When You Want To Let Them Know A Solo Journey Won't Cut It Tonight.

Hey, you have discerning tastes, so theres no need to settle for subpar porn or a solo sesh when you want someone to come over and join in the fun.

18. When Sexting Isn't Your Strong Suit, But You're Doing Your Best.

This meme is for all the people for whom sexting isn't really a thing, but they still want to make a booty appointment for tonight.

19. For when you want to keep it classy... or at least classical.

Honestly, getting your booty call deserves more pomp and circumstance. It is a privilege to even be considered.

20. When you know you've found your booty call soulmate.

When your nerdiness and theirs is compatible, theres no bigger turn on. See? Sending sexty memes is just good, (not-so) clean fun.

Hilary Duff’s NUDESTIX Collection Will Help You Cop Her A+ Beauty Style

If you were ever tuned in to the Disney Channel in the early 2000s then you likely remember Lizzie McGuire and her eccentric style filling up your TV screen. Well, almost two decades later, it's been announced that the show is making a come back, and with it, a more grown-up version of Lizze's style is expected to return. So just as you can expect to see one of your favorite childhood TV characters return to your screen, you can now also expect a new makeup collection from Hilary Duff, the actress behind Lizzie McGuire's character. Hilary Duff's NUDESTIX Collection is a seven piece collection that launches on Tuesday, Sept. 10 and in my opinion, closely resembles the kind of beauty style we can expect from 30-year-old Lizzie.

Hilary's new NUDESTIX collection will launch exclusively on Nudestix.com, and while it doesn't launch until the Sept. 10, the items are available for pre-sale on the site right now. If you're not familiar with NUDESTIX, it is a women-owned beauty brand that delivers all its products in the form of sticks. The brand has a range of eye, lip, and face sticks that are designed for a super easy, seamless application.

Day Dreamer Palette
Nudestix

As far as what you can expect from the new collection, the "palette" is dubbed the Day Dreamer Palette. And I use quotations as NUDESTIX's palettes are more like kits than they are your typical eye and face palettes. In the kit you'll find Nudies Matte All-Over Blush, Glow All-Over Highlighter, Gel Color Lip and Cheek Balm, and three Magnetic Luminous Eye Colors. The multi-use sticks are designed to be used all over the face on eyes, lips, and cheeks alike, and each have a makeup brush built in at the other end of the stick. The palette comes in a gray metallic makeup bag that bares the words "DAY DREAMER" across the front and is finished off with a small pencil sharpener.

When it comes to how the collaboration came about, Duff shared with Allure that she is an investor in NUDESTIX and always wanted to have a line of her own, but due to the abundance of makeup lines in the beauty market, she felt a collaboration was a better fit. "The market is so saturated with everyone having makeup lines," the actress shared with Allure.

The mom of two also shared that even when she's not working on projects like the new Lizzie McGuire reboot and Younger, she does still love to wear makeup and try different looks. "I'm super busy, but I love makeup," she shared. "I'm constantly getting my makeup done, but using my fingers is really what I like to do." So out came the Daydreamer Palette equipped with makeup products that are designed to be applied with the help of your fingertips.

In addition to coming out with a new makeup collab, it's no secret that the star is also super busy working on the new Lizzie McGuire project and planning out more mature versions of those iconic looks that we knew and loved 20 years ago. Spoiler: the eccentric style is still in tact and will definitely be making a comeback, but this time, with a bag full of cool makeup sticks to boot.

The 6 Best Shorts To Prevent Chafing Under Dresses

$

Whether you're planning to wear a short and breezy summer skirt or a long and formal evening gown, having a pair of lightweight shorts underneath will help keep your thighs from rubbing together and causing you discomfort. Generally speaking, the best shorts to prevent chafing under dresses will have the following qualities:

  1. Breathability: This is important because when you're wearing shorts under skirts, your legs tend to get hot and sticky. Having breathable, well-ventilated material like certain types of polyester or nylon will ensure you stay dry and don't overheat. Plus, these fabrics will be moisture-wicking, too, so they will absorb sweat well.
  2. Stretchiness: If the shorts you're wearing underneath your dress feel restrictive, it will inhibit your ability to relax and have fun. You want something with spandex, elastane, or another stretchy material to allow full range of motion.
  3. Softness: Given that these shorts will spend a good portion of their time in contact with your inner thighs, having extra-soft material is critical to your comfort. A hint of cotton is a fantastic option for this, as is nylon or polyester.

Beyond the materials, the shorts should be form-fitting with an elastic band or other mechanism to keep them in place. The last thing you want when you're rocking a cute dress is to be tugging at your waistband all day to keep them up.

With these considerations in mind, here are the best shorts to prevent chafing under dresses. Take a look to find the best fit for you.

,

1. The Best Overall

BESTENA Women's Seamless Slip Shorts For Under Dresses
Amazon

What's great about them: Reviewers say these seamless women's slip shorts are lightweight and exceptionally breathable. They won't make you sweaty if you wear them under a dress, yet they're thick enough to provide great anti-chafe protection. The smooth shorts, which come in black, beige, and white, are made from a soft nylon material that has a hint of spandex thrown in for extra stretch. The combination gives them the silky feeling of a slip without being flimsy or easily tearable.

What fans say: "Great for under dresses and skirts. Long enough so there's no thigh chafing, but not a bulky layer in the heat. No compression, just smoothing for no panty lines. Would def order again!"

  • Available sizes: Small to XXX-Large

2. The Best For Longer Dresses

Sexy Basics Slip Bike Shorts (3-Pack)
Amazon

What's great about them: With more than 2,200 reviews, these popular women's undershorts are well-liked on Amazon. They come down a little further on your legs than the first pick, so they're perfect to wear with longer skirts and dresses. The fabric is a breathable blend of cotton and spandex, which is not only lightweight but incredibly soft, too. Best of all, they come in tons of colors, and the tag-free design makes them less likely to chafe.

What fans say: "I've never been able to wear skirts or dresses in the summer, because I just can't stand the pain and irritation of my legs rubbing together. I've tried using things like baby powder and body glide, but ultimately this is the only thing that has worked for me. The elastic doesn't dig into my apple shaped body- which is a huge deal to this mama of 5."

  • Available sizes: Small to XXXX-Large

3. The Best For Short Dresses

Stretch Is Comfort Dance Workout Shorts
Amazon

What's great about them: If you wear lots of short dresses and skirts, these lightweight women's shorts will work well underneath them, because they won't show through or come down below the hem. They feature low-profile elastic that doesn't feel tight or dig in, according to reviewers, yet it keeps them up. On top of that, the nylon-spandex blend is stretchy and breathable, and they come in 15 different colors.

What fans say: "Bought this to wear under my homecoming dress and it was great! The material is breathable, stretches nicely, is sewn properly so no thread tags hanging everywhere after washing etc. Washed these a few times and they hold up great, haven't shrunk etc. Absolutely love this purchase and wear them around the house at night, great for lounging. Was worried that they may be cheap but they're extremely durable!"

  • Available sizes: X-Small to XXX-Large

4. The Best With Lace

Boao Lace Underwear Yoga Shorts (3-Pack)
Amazon

What's great about them: For folks who prefer lace-style women's undershorts, this cute three-pack is a fantastic option. Constructed with a mix of rayon, spandex, and nylon, the shorts are soft and lightweight, with an excellent ability to stay in place without slipping. The elastic band at the top, which features lace trim, holds the high-waisted shorts up without leaving marks, and there's a lace hem on each of the legs, too. They're offered in a variety pack, with color choices that include beige, black, and white.

What fans say: "I love, love these. I always look for shorts to wear under dresses, and I'm often disappointed by shorts that are either, too long, too short, too thick, uncomfortable or ride up. I am so glad I purchased these, they are [none]-of the above. They are thin, comfortable and breathable -- I am a size 12-14 in jeans, and 8-10 in dresses - I ordered the XL-XXL because I personally like for my clothes to fit with a little bit of room. These fit perfectly"

  • Available sizes: Small-Medium to X-Large-XX-Large

5. The Best Sheer Shorts

WOWENY Anti-Chafing Shorts For Women
Amazon

What's great about them: If you only need the chafe protection and aren't concerned about coverage, these sheer women's undershorts offer a great alternative that's thinner and more lightweight. The see-through shorts are made with a blend of 75 percent polyamide and 25 percent elastane, making them both sturdy and flexible. The 1.5-centimeter waistband keeps them from sliding down, while the 3-centimeter thigh band keeps them from rolling up. They have a liner constructed from 100 percent cotton that wicks moisture and feels soft against your skin. What's more, you can choose from beige or black colors.

What fans say: "Better fit and comfort than initially expected, definitely anti-chafe and I was still able to stay cool throughout the day."

  • Available sizes: Small to X-Large

6. The Best High-Performance Shorts

ODODOS High-Waist Yoga & Running Shorts
Amazon

What's great about them: These extremely popular women's shorts, which boast 2,500-plus reviews on Amazon, are made for working out but are thin enough to comfortably wear under dresses, too. They're great if you sweat a lot or tend to get hot, thanks to the extra moisture-wicking, quick-drying fabric (which comes courtesy of the polyester, spandex, and nylon blend). They have pockets you can use to stash small items and a firm elastic band at the top. As a bonus, when you're not wearing them under dresses, you can use them for yoga or other workouts.

What fans say: "I often wear skirts and dresses when I am out for a night of dancing. I love these shorts because they have pockets, so I can keep small items like my phone, lip balm, expandable tampons, and credit cards right there on my hip without them falling out. They don't create a crazy weird bulge as long as you wear something that doesn't hug your upper thigh. I can go hands-free for the night, instead of carrying a purse or clutch around with me."

  • Available sizes: X-Small to XXX-Large

What Languages Does Ivanka Trump Speak? This One Is Relatable

$

0

As an adviser to her father's administration, Ivanka Trump has done a lot of traveling. She's met with world leaders, advocated for women's economic empowerment (and occasionally generated controversy over appearances at diplomatic events). Trump's critics have routinely questioned her qualifications to serve her father's administration on the global stage, but it seems like there's at least one skill she has that will help out. So, what languages does Ivanka Trump speak? She is proficient in at least one other language besides English.

In April 2018, Trump shared some tweets in Spanish ahead of a trip to Peru, where she attended the 8th annual Summit of the Americas. Twitter users immediately wondered whether the first daughter was a fluent Spanish speaker, and questioned her seemingly bilingual tweets even as her father's administration used racist rhetoric to discuss immigration. However, it is unclear whether Trump actually speaks Spanish. Before the summit in Peru, Trump gave an interview to a Lima-based Spanish-speaking newspaper, but her responses may have been translated from English to Spanish.

But even if Trump doesn't speak Spanish, it appears that she does speak French with at least some proficiency. In 1989, her mother, Ivana Trump, told The Morning Call that Trump can speak French and understand Czech.

"Our oldest son, Donald, speaks Czech very well," Ivana said at the time. "Ivanka understands Czech, but the youngest is lazy. Of course, my parents now speak English well, so there's no reason to learn, I guess. But I'm working on it. They all speak French because they have it in school."

But apparently, Trump's language skills are pretty relatable she might not be fluent, but she sure knows the bad words. Back in 2010, Ivanka Trump referenced her exposure to Czech in a tweet, noting that she seems "to only know the curse words!" She also confirmed that her older brother Donald Trump Jr. is fluent in their maternal grandparents' native language:

Despite her apparent ability to speak or understand other languages, Trump does not regularly send out tweets in languages other than English. (Her tweets in Spanish ahead of her Peru trip were something of an anomaly.) She did not use Hindi, for example, when tweeting about her meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi back in 2017. Nor did she tweet in Korean during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

However, Trump has said in the past that she would like for her children to be bilingual. In fact, all three of her children with husband Jared Kushner are learning Mandarin, and their oldest Arabella is able to sing in Mandarin as well. Back in 2017, President Donald Trump showed Chinese President Xi Jinping a video of Arabella speaking and singing in Mandarin, according to Newsweek, prompting compliments from Xi. Trump also posts photos of her daughter speaking or singing Mandarin to social media.

Although Trump and her siblings speak multiple languages, she has thus far stuck to English when traveling and engaging in diplomatic efforts. But it is not her linguistic abilities that have prompted scrutiny from international audiences so much as her inexplicable presence at events typically reserved for world leaders. In June, for example, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed Trump for participating in the G20 summit as a diplomatic representative, noting that "being someones daughter actually isnt a career qualification." In a statement to Elite Daily, White House Deputy Communications Director Jessica Ditto shot back, saying, "It is sad but not shocking that the haters choose to attack Ivanka Trump."

Perhaps, if Trump had broached a bilingual conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, she might have been able to make a different argument? Maybe next time.

21 TV Teachers Who Would Make Going To Class Much More Interesting

Even if youre not returning to school this September, a chill in the air and school bus sightings inevitably inspire thoughts of your childhood classrooms and the teachers running them. Nowadays, those back-to-school feels mark the end of beach trips and rooftop happy hours, so they can be particularly depressing for some people. If you need a motivational boost for the change in season, its time to remind yourself of the TV teachers who truly ruled their schools.

Whether Mr. Feenys final lesson makes you tear up or you prefer crushing on Max Medina from afar, teachers on TV range from the ideal to the unbelievable. Just like in the real world, the schools of TV have hit-or-miss records when it comes to hiring teachers, but theyre packed with memorable mentors and plenty of their funny fails. Not every teacher has the ability to become that inspirational leader, but hopefully youve encountered at least one person who helps you relate to the TV characters who respect and admire their classroom leaders.

Found in cartoons, comedies, and dramas, TV teachers capture all the ups and down of the profession, and in many cases, never truly leave their students behind. Luckily, fans never have to leave the following teachers behind either.

1. Mr. Feeny ('Boy Meets World')

Nail Ramadan on YouTube

Initially introduced as Cory Matthews elementary school teacher, George Feeny was also the Matthews familys neighbor before following the kids to high school and even popping up as a professor at their college. IRL, people usually cant adjust to new teaching levels as smoothly as Mr. Feeny did, but his lifelong mentorship of Cory, Shawn, Topanga, and Eric is legendary for a reason. Keep his parting words of dream, try, do good in mind whenever you hit a rocky path.

2. Ms. Frizzle ('The Magic School Bus')

You knew you were in for an exciting science class when your teacher rolled in the TV stand for an episode of The Magic School Bus. Although any teacher who let the Frizz take over class for a day was cool, they definitely weren't as entertaining as Ms. Frizzle and her regular field trips into the beyond. From her zany outfits to her love of adventure, Ms. Frizzle reminds viewers that there's always another way to look at something.

3. Will Schuester ('Glee')

Although his actions as a teacher were a little unethical, Mr. Schuester took the Mr. Feeny approach when it came to influencing his Glee Club students. Reigniting the defunct club and recruiting unlikely candidates for the singing group, Mr. Schue definitely changed the lives of the New Directions members. Selecting unique song themes and enthusiastically rapping one too many times, he was essentially the Glee Club's dorky dad who always knew how to respond in tougher times.

4. Jess Day ('New Girl')

Sometimes a person's personality feels particularly indicative of their dream job, and Jess Day is no exception. Although she faced plenty of ups and downs in her teaching career, her love of impacting students always brought her back to a classroom. Given TV's recent tendency to lean on teachers' more cynical sides, Jess stood out for her optimistic take on the profession.

5. Mr. Garvey ('Key & Peele')

Comedy Central on YouTube

Perhaps the most well-known Key & Peele skit, "Substitute Teacher" planted inner-city school veteran Mr. Garvey in a classroom with white students who he believed were named quite bizarrely. The sketch's popularity led to a follow-up clip, and Bachelor in Paradise star Blake Horstmann even created his Instagram handle based on the original skit's use of his first name. Substitute teachers may not get much love, but Mr. Garvey is definitely a memorable replacement.

6. Annalise Keating ('How To Get Away With Murder')

In recent years, How to Get Away with Murder focuses less on the classroom and more on deadly secrets, but when the Shondaland drama began in 2014, the collegiate vibes were strong in Annalise's law school lecture hall. A fiery criminal defense attorney, Annalise took Middleton University students under her wing as she and this group embarked together on the investigation of intricate murders.

7. Ms. Krabappel ('The Simpsons')

Bart Simpson's teacher received a proper sendoff in 2014 when voice actor Marcia Wallace died, but before that, she was often annoyed with her students and her lack of a love life. Chances are, most people had teachers similar to Ms. Krabappel rather than the idealistic educators of other shows, so watching her really does feel like going back to school.

8. Lily Aldrin ('How I Met Your Mother')

Kindergarten teacher Lily wasn't the only one in a classroom on this sitcom. Ted eventually worked as an architecture professor, but he asked his students for feedback on his personal life a little too frequently. Thus, Lily's assertion at school and struggles in picking a baby name unaffiliated with a bad student are even more relatable when it comes to your friends who are currently teaching.

9. Max Medina ('Gilmore Girls')

Parade of stupid and dumb on YouTube

What is it about single moms and their kids' teachers on TV? While I've yet to see this trope play out in reality, I definitely understand Lorelai's attraction to Max, Rory's English teacher who pursued her despite how those at Chilton would perceive it. Lorelai and Max's whirlwind relationship ended with the former abruptly calling off their engagement, but English majors everywhere have a soft spot for the bookish and brainy Max.

10. Miss Othmar ('Peanuts')

Like all of the adults in the Peanuts cartoons, Miss Othmar's lines were always unintelligible, but she was special because Linus formed a crush on her. Viewers don't know much else about her, but if she captured the attention of the sweetly precocious Linus, she must have been an impressive teacher.

11. Cory Matthews ('Girl Meets World')

Following in Mr. Feeny's footsteps, Boy Meets World's Cory grew up to be a history teacher. Having to teach his daughter and her friends often led to lessons going awry on the spinoff series Girl Meets World, but Cory clearly learned from the best when it came to molding the minds of young people.

12. Mr. Ratburn ('Arthur')

As the toughest teacher in elementary school, Mr. Ratburn had no qualms about assigning mountains of homework and encouraging students to step out of their comfort zones. In the PBS cartoon's later years, he became more of a mentor to Arthur and his friends, and he even made real-world headlines when he married another man in a May 2019 episode. Proving that teachers' lessons can go beyond the classroom, his wedding reinforced the lesson to young viewers that love is love.

13. Miss Grotke ('Recess')

babyradfem_tv on YouTube

The whole point of Recess was to celebrate time with your friends on the playground, but the gang's classes with fourth-grade teacher Miss Grotke didn't seem that bad. Her witty remarks might have flown over your head as a kid, but looking back, this feminist hippie was actually instilling a sense of social justice in her students on a regular basis.

14. Mr. Simmons ('Hey Arnold!')

Hey Arnold! series creator Craig Bartlett confirmed in 2017 that Mr. Simmons was gay, but what fans remember most about Arnold's fourth-grade teacher was his devotion to the importance of questioning. The kids didn't enjoy his non-traditional teaching style at first, but they soon learned how much kindness counts in the classroom.

15. Tami Taylor ('Friday Night Lights')

She was technically a guidance counselor, but Tami and Coach Tayler were East Dillon's power couple, showing that the best people in a school aren't necessarily the teachers. There wasn't much Tami wouldn't do for her students, even risking her job to help a pregnant teen explore all of her options. A more formal classroom setting may prevent you from getting to know your teacher, and Tami is a reminder that the person to turn to in trouble might be in the guidance office.

16. Ross Geller ('Friends')

As a paleontology professor, Ross inappropriately dated a student and felt flattered when a male student said he was in love with him to gain sympathy. He definitely wasn't the greatest teacher, but there's no doubt that his classroom antics must have been entertaining from a student's perspective.

17. Walter White ('Breaking Bad')

Lunch Box School on YouTube

Facing terminal cancer, chemistry teacher Walter White began making meth to save money for his family. His plan's noble beginnings eventually turned deadly, but before Walt transformed into a dangerous force, his classes seemed pretty interesting. Plus, anyone who resorts to making meth is definitely skilled in chemistry, so at least those students were in the hands of a competent teacher.

18. Mr. Hackett ('Phil of the Future')

Also seen teaching in the classroom, Vice Principal Neil Hackett eventually became the Diffys' next-door neighbor, fueling his suspicion that something was off about the family secretly from the year 2121. He never totally caught on, but Phil and Keely often saw Mr. Hackett's relatable side, reminding you that even the oddest teachers have their own lives.

19. Mr. Dig ('Lizzie McGuire')

Before befriending Lizzie's dad, Mr. Dig impressed students with his casual teaching style and important life lessons. As a substitute teacher, he was also a nice relief from the humdrum typical school day. Unlike Lizzie, I wouldn't even mind having him over for dinner.

20. Seorita Rodriguez ('That's So Raven')

Seorita Rodriguez was possibly the busiest person at Bayside High, teaching Spanish and moderating several clubs. Longtime teachers may have to resort to clever means to stay invested, so she liked to raise students' hopes before smashing them. The character has yet to appear on Disney Channel spinoff Raven's Home, but here's hoping for another appearance soon.

21. Ms. Fowl ('The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron')

Mr.Whatareyadoin on YouTube

Left without her class in one episode, Ms. Fowl coped by impersonating her students and admitting she missed them. Teachers don't often show this soft side, but Ms. Fowl's vulnerability reminds viewers that in this position, people can't help but love the students in their care.

You may not have a reason to stop by school anytime soon, but in the words of Mr. Feeny, dream, try, and do good by picking up an apple for a teacher in your life.

The Number Of Deaths Linked To Vaping Is Rising, So The CDC Is Urging People To Stop

On Friday, Sept. 6, the Center for Disease Control put out a new warning urging people to stop vaping as three more deaths related to smoking electronic cigarettes were confirmed in Indiana, Minnesota, and California. The number of deaths linked to vaping now stands at five, including two previously reported cases in Illinois and Oregon, and the CDC is taking action. According to a briefing held just a few hours before the announcement on Friday, officials are now investigating 450 cases of pulmonary disease that are being linked with e-cigarette use. Here's what you should know about the investigation.

According to a transcript of the Sept. 6 briefing, doctors and state officials are linking the 450 cases of severe lung illness in otherwise healthy individuals aged between 18 and 25 to the usage of vapes. Per the briefing, Dr. Dana Meaney Delman, who is the incident manager of the CDCs response to this case, said that officials noticed a pattern linking e-cigarette use to the symptoms, which include coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain, nausea, and vomiting. She reported:

Patients reported similar symptoms, displayed similar clinical presentations and findings, and all reported using e-cigarette products in the 90 days prior to developing symptoms, most within a week or so before symptoms developed.

In light of the three new deaths linked to vaping, U.S. health officials said that they believe that some kind of chemical exposure is behind the illnesses and are currently looking into lab tests that show that vitamin E acetate has been found in many of the e-cigarette cartridges that the victims had been using.

However, Mitch Zeller, director of the FDAs Center for Tobacco Products, said that this was not the case across the board, and officials are still investigating other substances that were found in the 120 cartridges that they've been testing.

He said during the briefing, "No one substance or compound, including vitamin E acetate, has been identified in all the samples tested."

One factor that doctors reiterated during the briefing was that many of the cartridges contained marijuana or a combination of both THC and nicotine, although again, this was not the case across the board. They especially expressed concern for cartridges that are purchased off the streets and might contain unknown and potentially harmful substances.

However, at this time, no specific e-cigarette brand or chemical substance has been linked to all of the 450 cases, so people should try to avoid vaping until the CDC and other U.S. health officials are able to find more information about the mysterious illnesses.

"While this investigation is ongoing, people should consider not using e-cigarette products," Meaney-Delman continued as she outlined the CDC's recommendation. "People who do use e-cigarette products should monitor themselves for symptoms, for example, cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, nausea, and vomiting and promptly seek medical attention for any health concerns."

The investigation is ongoing at this time, so I'd recommend sharing the news with your friends or acquaintances who vape to put that habit on the back burner until more information comes to light.

5 Behaviors That Mean Someone's Not Ready To Date, So Guard Your Heart

$

Getting to know someone new can be really fun and exciting. You get to learn all about them, including their likes, dislikes, goals, background, and the things you have in common. (Similar tastes in Netflix shows is key, people!) But nothing stings quite like catching feelings for someone, only to recognize the behaviors that mean someone's not ready to date. I reached out to several dating experts to learn exactly what those behaviors look like, and how you can spot them.

"When you first meet someone, especially if you meet them on an app, you typically assume theyre ready to date, but that isnt always the case," Julie Spira, online dating expert and CEO at Cyber-Dating Expert, tells Elite Daily. "As a dating coach, Ive seen singles tell me they're ready, and are even anxious to meet someone very soon. The problem is, sometimes they havent done the inner work, or arent over an ex, which makes them unavailable. If you find that someone talks a lot about past relationships, its a sign they might not be ready to start brand new."

If the person you're seeing continues to dwell on the past, that's probably not a solid foundation on which to build a future together. Keep an eye out for the following behaviors. If you realize you might not be on the same page, it might be time to sit down and have a serious conversation about how to align your goals, and whether or not that's something you even want.

,

1.They Seem Almost Too Eager To DTR.

This sign can be tricky to spot, because usually, when someone is enthusiastic about dating you, it's because, well, they really want to date you. And that's great! But someone who might not be ready to date might actually seem a little bit too anxious to put a label on it. If a person you've been on approximately two dates with already wants to label you their partner, they can't stop texting you, or they claim they get anxious when they're away from you, being in a relationship might be more about the anxiety of "filling a role" than about them actually wanting to make a connection.

"Most people want to fall in love and be happy, but if youre coming from a place of neediness or desperation to fill the title of 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend' with someone new, your anxiety can get the best of you, and prevent you from actually being ready for healthy love," she explains. If someone is trying to rush things, that could mean they aren't ready to date.

2. They're Flakey AF.

Dating is all about having fun, getting to know each other, and seeing where things between you might go. But in order for that to happen, you both have to put in the same amount of effort. When someone isn't ready to date, they'll probably slack in this arena. "When youre spending time together, he doesnt seem to put in much effort," Lori Salkin, SawYouatSinai.com Matchmaker and Dating Coach, tells Elite Daily. "Its the same date again and again, or you just end up hanging out at one of your places. He only asks you out 'to hang out' last minute. And whenever he asks you out or you think hes asking you on a date, he only uses the language 'hang out' instead of 'go out' when making plans with you. And he doesnt a confirm a plan until super last minute."

Sound familiar? If so, try to remember that the person dating you should know how lucky they are! If they don't put in the effort to show you that they care by planning dates in advance or texting when they say they will, then you might be better off finding someone who will.

3. Things Are Still Complicated Between Them And Their Ex.

Every breakup is different. Some exes break up and still maintain a healthy friendship. Others are forced to hang out in social settings because they're part of the same friend group. Nevertheless, if someone ended things with their partner and they still make plans with them on a regular basis, they might not be ready to commit to a new partner.

Even more of a red flag? When the person you're going on dates with still lives with their ex. "I can't stress enough how common this issue is and how it sabotages the chances of starting a great relationship," Spira says. "Often a couple will break up, and for financial reasons, they'll sometimes still live under the same roof, but not [sleep] in the same bed. Since the cost of housing has skyrocketed, it's hard to date someone new [when you're still] sharing keys to the house, but not the heart," she says.

4. They Aren't Completely Over Their Ex.

If you can tell that the person you're seeing hasn't completely moved on from their ex, they probably aren't ready to date just yet, Spira says. This will look like regular conversations with you about their previous relationship, comparisons between you and their ex, or anecdotes about special things they did or moments they had with them that you just really don't need to hear about.

"Often the guilt of a breakup, especially when one person isn't taking it well or hasn't moved on, takes center stage," Spira says. "This creates an unhealthy love triangle, of you, your new partner, and the ex."

5. They're Insecure.

Now, almost everyone has insecurities, and having insecurities doesn't mean you can't be in a relationship. But, if someone is constantly putting themselves down or talking about how "out of their league" you are, they probably aren't ready to date. There's a reason people always say you've got to learn to love yourself before you can love someone else, and while cliches about love don't often ring true, this one really can.

"If they say youre 'too good,' it probably means theyre feeling insecure about where they are," life coach Nina Rubin tells Elite Daily.

If the person you're seeing exhibits any of these behaviors and they make you feel uncomfortable, Rubin recommends taking action. "Dont stick around waiting for them to be ready," she explains. "Keep dating other people and know that timing is real. If youre meant to get (back) together, you will. Trust the feelings you both have. Tell them that youre developing feelings and you want them to be reciprocated. Ask: Would it be better to take some time apart and connect in a few months to see where you both are?"

Remember: You deserve to be with someone who can be just as invested in a relationship as you, so don't settle for anything less.

1. Every Room In This Home Is Decorated To The Disney Extreme

Every room in this four-bedroom home in Orlando has a different Disney theme. (Personally, I'd call dibs on the Haunted Mansion-themed room in a heartbeat with its Madame Leota chandelier.) The Wonderland suite would be my second choice because it has such cute details like the doorknob from the movie.

2. This Minnie Mouse-Designed Room Is Just Too Sweet

This six-bedroom home in Kissimmee is perfect for a big squad or your entire family. There's one room that looks just like Andy's from Toy Story with the cloud wallpaper and all, but my personal favorite is the adorable Minnie Mouse room. The pink walls and elegant headboard are super classy.

This Disney mansion in Kissimmee is basically like staying at your very own theme park. There's an Avengers-themed room, a home gym with a sauna, a private pool, unique Disney decor throughout, and so much more. However, the biggest draw to the place for me is the Mickey home theater. With beds to relax on and recliner seats, I could stay there all day watching every single Disney movie.

4. This Massive Disney Home Is Perfect For Your Whole Squad

This seven-bedroom home in Kissimee is perfect for your entire squad. Every bedroom is themed differently, from Frozen to Aladdin. The best part is this home is really close to Disney World, so you can eat breakfast here and then have lunch at my favorite Disney restaurant: 50's Prime Time Caf.

5. You'll Have The Most Regal Stay At This Home

If you've always dreamed of sleeping like a princess or within a Star Wars spaceship, you're in luck. This eight-bedroom home in Kissimmee has rooms just for you. There's A White Claw Shortage In The U.S., So Summer Really Is Over

If you need further proof that patio season is coming to a close, the news that supplies are running low for the drank of summer 2019 might just do the trick. According to multiple news sources, there is a White Claw shortage in the U.S., so it's potentially about to get a little harder for you to score your go-to Black Cherry and Grapefruit. However, before you freak out and go ham stocking up with all the variety packs that you can carry, White Claw officials want you to know that it's not going to be like #PopeyesChickenSandwichGate. Here's what to know about the shortage, because it's not as bad as you think.

IMHO, the summer of 2019 might as well be known as the summer of White Claw. The ubiquitous hard seltzer brand has captured the tastebuds of many a casual drinker and even inspired the catchphrase "Ain't no laws when you're drinking Claws." For those who've been chugging Mango Claws like there's no tomorrow, the company gave spiked seltzer devotees a rude awakening on Friday, Sept. 6 when it announced that the sips have become a little too popular and they're now experiencing a nationwide shortage. While this news is enough to inspire widespread pandemonium and a frenzy of shoppers to their nearest grocery store to stock up, the company wants to let you know that things aren't as dire as they appear.

According to officials, chances are that you'll still be able to pick up your favorite 12-pack. All that'll change is that there will be lower stocks of it depending on where you're purchasing your packs from, so in the worse case, you might have to head to another retailer if your first one has run out.

CNN Business, which first reported the story, revealed that White Claw is currently "allocating" its current stock with its distributors to make sure that all markets are still have a slower yet steady flow of Claws coming their way, per Sanjiv Gajiwala, White Claw's senior vice president of marketing.

He told the publication that he hopes that the company can get production back to normal sooner rather than later. "We are working around the clock to increase supply given the rapid growth in consumer demand," he said. "White Claw has accelerated faster than anyone could have predicted."

Meanwhile, Phil Rosse, the president of Mark Anthony Brands which owns White Claw, to the Chicago Tribune that many of the company's markets have been on allocation since last September in response to the extreme popularity of the spiked seltzer. He hopes that by 2020, they'll get back to "a normalized safety stock position."

He said in a statement:

While not completely eliminating intermittent stock outs, we believe this strategy has helped us be in the best position possible on shelf. But with the tremendous response we have had from consumers, understandably, our supply chain has tightened.

From the sounds of things, you'll probably be able to still get your favorite White Claw packs, although maybe in more measured quantities. On the other hand, there's no shortage of spiked seltzer options like Truly, Bon & Viv, and even Natty Light's new hard seltzer to keep those summer vibes going well into fall.

The Reason Billie Eilish Wears Baggy Clothes Is Actually Really Upsetting

$

In the past, Billie Eilish who first broke out into the music scene when she was just 14 has made no secret of the fact that she tends to favor loose-fitting attire to prevent people from sexualizing her body. Now that she's 17, however, the reason Billie Eilish wears baggy clothes and doesn't see that changing in the near future also includes a concern about being slut-shamed if she does "want to look desirable," and it's actually pretty upsetting. In a Thursday, Sept. 5 cover story for Elle, the star got real about why commentary about the way she dresses has undercurrents of slut-shaming and why she wants to change that.

If you've been following along with the hitmaker's meteoric rise, you know that Eilish first stepped into the limelight back in 2016 when the then-14-year-old uploaded a version of "Ocean Eyes" to Soundcloud. In recent years, she's grown up in the public eye and her material has definitely become more mature with the release of "Bad Guy" and "When the Party's Over" earlier this year. Known for her quirky style and aesthetic, the singer has previously opened up about why she tends to go for clothing with a looser fit, saying that she's done so to avoid people from sexualizing her body.

In a June 24 interview with Vogue Australia, she told the publication that her choice of baggy threads is freeing.

"It kind of gives nobody the opportunity to judge what your body looks like," she told the publication. "I want layers and layers and layers and I want to be mysterious. You dont know whats underneath and you dont know whats on top."

However, this hasn't prevented her from being sexually objectified, such as when Nylon Germany posted a photo of her as a bald and topless robot without her consent or when a fan, who described Eilish as "thick," shared a photo of her wearing a form-fitting tank top back in June and the image went viral Twitter.

"My boobs were trending on Twitter! At number one! What is that?! Every outlet wrote about my boobs!" Eilish told Elle about the incident. "I was born with f***ing boobs, bro. I was born with DNA that was gonna give me big-a** boobs."

While the singer is comfortable with her current choice in attire, it's also made her restricted about what she can wear in the future. As a young woman who's still a minor, Eilish said that she feels like fans have come to expect the looser style of dress and that she doesn't want her own more modest style to be an avenue for people to shame other women who do choose to show off their bodies.

Eilish told V Magazine in an Aug. 19 interview, "Positive [comments] about how I dress have this slut-shaming element. Like, 'I am so glad that you are dressing like a boy so that other girls can dress like boys, so that they arent sluts.' Thats basically what it sounds like to me. And I can't [overstate how] strongly I do not appreciate that, at all."

In fact, the "Lovely" chart-topper says that she's scared of how her fans will react should she decide to show off more of her body in the future.

"I'm gonna be a woman. I wanna show my body," Eilish told Elle. "What if I wanna make a video where I wanna look desirable? I know it would be a huge thing. I know people will say, 'I've lost all respect for her.'"

At the end of the day, it's Eilish's choice whether she chooses to wear baggier clothing, chooses to show off her body in more form-fitting attire, or a combination of both, and it looks like she doesn't have anything to worry about as fans are already rallying around her on social media after the publication of the Elle cover story.

As one fan summed it up, "It's her body and she should be able to decide when and how she wishes to display it." Amen to that.

Camila Cabello & Shawn Mendes’ Surprise “Señorita” Performance Ended With A Kiss

Just days after breaking the internet with ~that~ sultry Video Music Awards rendition of "Seorita" on Aug. 26, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes are continuing to give fans a glimpse into their summer romance with their second live performance of the duet. To fans' delight, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes surprise "Seorita" performance in Toronto, Canada, on Friday, Sept. 6 contained even more PDA than the original, and it showed that the chemistry is only continuing to heat up between them. While the pair never actually went in for a smooch during their hot and heavy VMAs performance, Mendes does appear to actually kiss Cabello at the end of their duet in Toronto and it's just as sweet as you'd expect.

Mendes' performance at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Sept. 6 was a special night for a few reasons. Not only is the Canadian city the hometown of the "If I Can't Have You" hitmaker, but the evening's show was also Mendes' final stop on the North American part of his tour before he heads overseas. So, it was fitting that Mendes decided to close out that leg of the tour with a special someone by his side. During "Seorita," Cabello made a surprise appearance for what would be a seriously sultry performance of their hit duet. While this is the second time that they've performed the chart-topper live together, it's safe to say that practice makes perfect and it was arguably even better than their VMAs rendition with plenty of hand-holding, lip-licking, suggestive dancing, and gazing into each other's eyes as they belted out the lyrics of the popular track.

The icing on the cake was at the end, when Mendes appears to grab Cabello and pull her in for a kiss on the cheek. They lock eyes in what can only be described as a NSFW moment before the "Havana" songstress pulls away and leaves the stage.

Unsurprisingly, fans are losing it over the steamy AF videos, because the performance is just that electric.

The rumored couple's stans will probably never tire of seeing Shawmila perform "Seorita," there's a good chance that the pair feels the same way. Shortly before the surprise performance, Cabello admitted that without the track, she and Mendes probably wouldn't have rekindled their special relationship.

"I love him with all my heart and always have. We've known each other for a really long time," the songstress admitted to E! News while at a New York Fashion Week event. She explained that after they originally got together, things originally fizzled due to their schedules.

"I think we drifted because we weren't hanging out as much," she told the publication. "It was fun to be able to reconnect and hang out again." Their decision to collaborate ultimately led to her falling in love for the first time, which she detailed in a Sept. 7 interview with Elle.

"Honestly, this past year and a half was the first time I really experienced falling in love with another person," Cabello told the magazine. "I think there is so much more depth to love when you know you are in it with another person. You have so much more to sayI think thats what makes me emotional."

All of this is just further proof that their summer romance isn't going anywhere, so I think it's safe to say that we'll be seeing a lot more of Shawmila when fall comes around.

I know that sounds tedious, but trust me, you're going to love the whole process, especially because September 9, 2019 will be the best week for these zodiac signs.

On Sep. 9, Mars planet of assertion and courage will form a trine with disciplined and mature Saturn. This will give you all the confidence and energy you need in order to step up to the plate and create something sustainable. Whatever you create has the power to truly transform who you are and how you see yourself. As the sun forms a trine to dark and truth-telling Pluto on Sep. 13, you can pull so much strength from your shadow and rise from your pain. Even if you've been knocked down a few times, these experiences taught you how to be resilient. And, believe me, you'll be feeling the desire to get more out of your life, especially when Mars forms a square with expansive and indulgent Jupiter on Sep. 12. With this transit, anything seems possible and abundance is just around the corner. Even though this energy may normally cause you to go overboard, the assistance from Saturn will provide you with stability.

If you were born with your sun or rising in Taurus, Virgo, or Libra, you're in for a beautiful ride. Here's why:

Taurus: You're Feeling Motivated And Ambitious About Your Art

When Mars forms a trine with Saturn, you'll feel so grown up and committed to your creativity. If you've been bursting with beautiful ideas but you haven't had the energy or the inspiration to carry them out, this is a beautiful week to see it through. When Mars forms a square to Jupiter, you'll desire to have loads of fun. Make sure you get out there and live a little.

Feel free to indulge in all the splendors the surround you, open your heart to romance, and get in touch with your inner child.

Virgo: You Have The Power To Become A More Confident Person

You're building yourself up and becoming a stronger, more courageous version of yourself. With Mars forming a trine with Saturn this week, you're not just thinking about growing and entertaining the idea of it. You're sinking your feet into the earth and laying down the groundwork for something major. As the sun forms a trine with Pluto, you're extracting so much strength from all the difficulties you've experienced.

When the full moon takes place in your seventh house of partnerships this week, you'll learn how to balance and extend your independence with others, as well as how to share your heart and implement boundaries.

Libra: You're Attracting Positive Attention Wherever You Go

By the end of the week, both Mercury and Venus will enter your first house of the self. This will spark up your mental juices, allowing you to think more clearly and get motivated about life. You've spent a long period existing in your own little world, but now, you're getting ready to come out of your shell.

With Venus in Libra, you'll find love and relationships are coming more naturally to you. In fact, you're attracting flirtatious and compassionate vibes from whoever you meet. Soak it up, Libra.

September 9, 2019 Will Be The Worst Week For These Zodiac Signs, So Beware Of Illusions

There is some intense and motivating energy flowing through the cosmos this week. The sun is currently charging through Virgo, and although Virgo isn't normally thought of as a highly passionate or overly zealous zodiac sign, this Virgo season is quite different from the usual one. However, despite how hungry you might feel for new opportunities and a chance to prove yourself, you might find yourself feeling lost in the process. If you were born with your sun or rising sign in the following zodiac signs, September 9, 2019 will be the worst week: Gemini, Scorpio, or Aquarius. The reason? Everything might feel so overwhelming.

The sun and Mars planet of combat and vitality are making a few stress-inducing alignments this week, but it's not all bad. However, on Sept. 10, the sun will oppose sensitive and illusive Neptune, and by Sept. 14, Mars will form the same opposition. This energy may make it difficult to understand what's real and what's not, so don't let every insecure thought that enters your head sink its teeth into you. Understand everything will make sense eventually. Although Neptune is stirring up confusion, there is stability in the form of the trine between Mars and Saturn planet of long-term commitment on Sept. 9. This gives you the willpower and the stamina to persevere. Use Mars' courage and Saturn's discipline to help you plant the seeds for a project you won't give up on. Trust in your abilities and trust in the plan the cosmos have for you. That voice of doubt and insecurity in your head is not real.

Here's what the following zodiac signs can expect:

Gemini: You May Be Confusing Comfort With Complacency

With the sun, Mercury, and Mars currently in your fourth house of home and family, you're searching for a sense of comfort and emotional nurturing. However, when both the sun and Mars oppose Neptune this week, you may find you're searching for comfort in something that won't truly provide you with the safety you need. Make sure you're not placing all your bets on something or someone, because the security you're searching for is found within you.

Even though this may be an insecure time, you're healing. You're learning something about your thought patterns. Just don't view your thoughts as facts.

Scorpio: There May Be Lots Of Secrets Surrounding Your Love Life

By the end of the week, both Mercury and Venus are entering your 12th house of the subconscious. This steeps your mentality into one of introversion and intuition. You may find it more difficult to exist in the "real world," so allow yourself time to process and meditate on your inner world. You may even find secrets will begin to reveal themselves, especially regarding your love life and relationships. Try not to let a secret slip, but prepare to be changed by what you find out.

Fortunately, the full moon this week lights up your fifth house of fun and pleasure. This will guide you through a creative resurgence. Let go and enjoy the process.

Aquarius: You May Be Going Through A Dark Time, But It's Temporary

There are so many planets currently intensifying things in your eighth house of regeneration. Your emotions are probably all over the map and it might feel like you're experiencing one hardship after another. When both Mars and the sun form an opposition with Neptune this week, there's a chance you might blow something out of proportion or allow something to affect you more deeply than it needs to. Whatever you're going through is not forever.

Even if you'd rather avoid whatever it is that's plaguing you, it's all preparing you for something major. The sun is forming a trine with Pluto this week, which is pushing you towards some deep healing.

The cosmos are surging forward and an emotional wave is cresting. This week, you might feel as though the unavoidable is coming into focus. Your true feelings are revealing themselves, no matter how much you'd rather suppress them. Your September 9, 2019 weekly horoscope is here to help you make sense of what's simmering beneath the surface. Even if your defenses are flared up and your sensitivities are triggered, there is something to be gleaned from the strange state of your heart.

However, the cosmos are also supporting you through the process. On Sept. 9, Mars planet of courage and vitality will form a trine with steady and committed Saturn. This gives you a sense of direction and a willingness to stay focused on your goals. It's a beautiful time to set your sights on reaching the end of the finish line. When the sun forms a trine with transformative Pluto on Sept. 13, you can pull strength from your shadow and do something incredibly powerful and unexpected. Even if you're at rock bottom, know that only the strongest deep-sea creatures can survive there. A square between Mars and expansive Jupiter on Sept. 12 will encourage you to swim to the surface and follow the light.

Despite all this energy pulling you forward, you might feel confused and stressed out about the present. On Sept. 10, the sun is forming an opposition to dreamy and sensitive Neptune, which challenges everything you think you know. Remember, Neptune is known for distorting the truth, so just because things seem a certain way doesn't necessarily mean they are. When Mars later forms an opposition with Neptune on Sept. 14, it might deplete your energy or leave you feeling distracted.

This confusion acts as an overlay to the full moon in Pisces, aka Harvest Moon 2019, that's slated to radiate through the night on Sept. 14. This full moon amps up the spirituality, fantasy, and compassion, as it forms a conjunction with Neptune. The emotional outpour that may inevitably ensue is perfect for creative exploration and healing. Take care of your heart and choose kindness over everything.

Aries

This week, the theme will be learning how to balance the real world with the fantasy world you escape to. No matter how organized your routine is and how well you're keeping up with your to-do list, there's a spiritual center to your life that cannot be scheduled. Allow yourself to let go of control and look within. There is so much healing and beauty to be found.

Taurus

Your heart is drifting over to the collective consciousness. You're feeling inspired to take care of others and place the needs of the greater good above your own. You have the power to make some deep connections this week, as well as let go of connections that don't serve your highest purpose. Don't be afraid of becoming the leader you're meant to become.

Gemini

There's a big chance for a career breakthrough this week. You're fighting for what you deserve and your vision is coming into focus. You have all the power to put yourself out there and assert yourself. Use this energy to charge out of your comfort zone, no matter how much you feel like staying there. Even if it results in failure, pick yourself up and try again.

Cancer

You're immersing yourself in the process of learning, accomplishing, and communicating. However, you may have been concentrating on some of the wrong things. Now's the time to take a step back and realize there's so much more to the big picture. There are opportunities in unexpected places that await you. Remain open and be brave.

Leo

You've been focusing on tangible ways to create stability in your life. You could be refining your finances, working on your self-worth, or making some deserved purchases. But this doesn't always solve the problem of your emotional stability, which comes from the heart. Rethink your relationship with love. Let go of codependent patterns and fear of intimacy.

Virgo

Your relationships are coming to your attention this week. You're feeling emotional, sensitive, and compassionate toward others. You want to give, but it's important you receive in return. Think about what constitutes your ideal relationship. How are you inviting that energy into your life and how can you find a balance between independence and partnership?

Libra

You've been existing in your own little world lately and tending to your emotional inner world. None of this is easy, as it brings up memories from your past and wounds that still require healing. However, this week, you're learning what you can do to heal on a practical level. Reach out into your physical reality and know you can take measures to improve your life.

Scorpio

You're being flushed with romantic and creative energy. It's time to focus on your self-expression. You deserve to be the center of attention and appreciated for the person you are. Are you allowing yourself to let go and create without inhibition? There is a world of color existing inside you. Let no one place rules or regulations on your inner beauty.

Sagittarius

You're learning how to strike a balance between your career and your home life this week. You've been out and about making major moves, but there's something sensitive going on in your heart. It's encouraging you to take a break and rediscover a sense of emotional nurturing. Remember to tend to your sacred space, as there must always be a place to return to safely.

Capricorn

You've been galavanting about and learning how to let go of your fear of the unknown. You've discovered so much throughout the process. Now, it's time to emotionally connect to a topic or project what has been gripping your heart. Learn more about it, talk to people about it, and begin understanding how to flesh this idea out. It's an idea worth exploring.

Aquarius

You've been undergoing a majorly transformative process of letting go of the old to make room for the new. This is difficult, as you're saying goodbye to something that once meant a lot to you. Now, you're making space for something else to begin. Start building the groundwork for something new and quit worrying about the past. Build one brick at a time.

Pisces

You've been extending yourself and giving to others. However, you may be giving too much and receiving too little. You may even be allowing a relationship to become the central feature of your identity. Now's the time to let go of attachments and own the person you are the person who sits at your core, unchanged by the circumstances surrounding them. Embrace your truth.

What Is Instagram's Privacy Policy? Here's What To Know About The App's Rules

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, some Instagram users shared a viral post about a "new" Instagram policy, which stated that the photo-sharing app would apparently change its privacy policy on Aug. 22. The rumored change, which was proven to be a hoax, warned of your Instagram content possibly being "used in court cases and litigation against you," and according to the post, reposting the notice would supposedly prevent the app from using yours. So, what is Instagram' privacy policy? Here's everything you need to know about the app's rules.

The haunting message began to circulate across Instagram in late August. It essentially stated that the supposed new policy would mean that any content you post, even deleted and private content, could be used in court cases and litigation against you in the future. Celebs and public figures hastily copied and pasted it to their IG pages (and have since deleted it), as the post directed users to copy and paste the text to deter the company from using their "pictures, information, messages, or posts, both past and future." Alas, it was all a hoax. On Wednesday, Aug. 21, a spokesperson from Facebook confirmed to Elite Daily that Instagram's current privacy policy is the same as it's always been. They said: "There is no truth to this post."

To debunk future hoaxes, double-check Instagram's website before spiraling into a panic the app's terms and conditions state the privacy policy, which you agree to by using the app, and how your information is used.

How Instagram Uses Your Data

According to a post from 2017, the most recent policy update, the app uses your information to help you access your profile after signing in, recall information, provide personalized content (like those eerily spot-on ads that show up after you've been looking at certain accounts), improve their service, develop new products, monitor metrics, diagnose issues, update the app, and run special offers.

Instagram's website also states how your information might be shared. In terms of sharing your information, Instagram states the app won't rent or sell your information to third parties without your consent, except for what you agree to when you accept the privacy policy. They may share some information, such as cookies and device identifiers, to businesses that are legally within the same group as Instagram, and may also share the above information with companies that help Instagram provide its service. In the policy, Instagram explains third-party Service Providers may receive info like cookies, log files, and location data "under reasonable confidentiality terms," when necessary to the Service provided. And if you remove information posted, copies may still exist in cached and archived pages.

How Instagram Deals With Data Requests

While the app reveals they may access, preserve, and share information from Instagram in regards to legal matters, a Facebook spokesperson shared, "We do not remove content from Instagram simply because law enforcement asked us to. Our approach to content on Instagram as well as to requests from law enforcement is to evaluate each situation in accordance with our policies." In terms of providing information like deleted posts and accounts to law enforcement, the guidelines on the Facebook website state: "We do not retain data for law enforcement purposes unless we receive a valid preservation request before a user has deleted that content from our service."

On the Facebook Transparency website, the number of government requests for data in 2018 was 214,449 globally. From January to December, 73.5% of those requests resulted in "some data given." To put that into perspective, per Statista, Instagram notched 1 billion monthly users and 500 million daily users in June 2018. You can look at a breakdown of requests by country on the website. You can also see a full description of all the legal requests, with court-ordered search warrants and subpoenas being the bulk of requests in the United States.

What This Means For Instagram Users

Basically, Instagram's privacy policy, like many companies' rules, is filled with lots of jargon and subsections of information, but in the end, it basically states that you agree to Instagram complying with the law when it comes to government requests for data. In contrast to the fake policy going around, Instagram won't simply hand over your information at will, but rather it will "disclose account records solely in accordance with our terms of service and applicable law," which includes valid subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants.

Of course, when it comes to social media, protecting your information is important, so it's good to know what the rules are. When you agree to the terms of any social networking site, you're likely agreeing to a lot that you don't necessarily understand. In this case, a private account might create more security in terms of not being able to be found by other Instagram users. While that doesn't necessarily mean your account info is off limits in the case of legal matters, you can also know that Instagram will only comply with data requests so far as the company is legally bound to do so. And going off the 2018 numbers, out of 500 million daily Instagram users, 214,449 requests (which is about 0.00043% of all daily users) were made, and out of those requests, 157,705 of them resulted in "some data provided." So, it appears the odds of your account even being involved in a government request are very low.

If you're interested in diving deeper into the data requests Instagram has received, you can go to the Facebook Transparency page, and if you're ever tempted to repost a privacy notice that looks like it was created on a Windows 95 desktop, just resist the urge. Your comments section will thank you.

These Photos Of Meghan Markle Cheering On Serena Williams At The U.S. Open Are Everything

On Saturday, Sept. 7, Meghan Markle made a rare public appearance to cheer on one of her closest friends courtside. The Duchess of Sussex, who's an avid tennis fan, is currently visiting New York for the U.S. Open, and she was in the stands as Serena Williams faced off against Bianca Andreescu in the final of the tennis tournament. Luckily, there's plenty of footage from the event, and these photos of Meghan Markle cheering on Serena Williams at the U.S. Open show their friendship hasn't changed while she's been across the pond.

The duchess' latest outing is significant, because it marks the first time she's gone overseas solo since the birth of her son, Archie. Per People, on Friday, Sept. 6, the mom-of-one reportedly caught a last-minute flight out of London to the Big Apple, where Williams was scheduled to face off against fellow tennis titan Andreescu in the U.S. Open. One day later, she was seen sitting in Williams' box alongside fellow public figures like Anna Wintour (whom she was photographed chatting with at one point) and the tennis star's husband Alexis Ohanian.

A source told The Sunday Times that the weekend getaway was planned on a whim. "It is a last-minute trip," the insider told the publication. "Excited to support her friend, and then come back." She reportedly didn't bring her staff, and Prince Harry is taking care of baby Archie back at home.

Unfortunately, Williams ended up losing the game and the title, which would have been her first Grand Slam since giving birth. However, she had a loyal supporter in Markle, who couldn't contain her enthusiasm while cheering on her friend during the big match.

While Markle has stayed largely out of the limelight since welcoming Archie, she's made a few exceptions for her BFF. Back in July, she headed to the Wimbledon championships to catch her friend's match before accompanying sister-in-law Kate Middleton to watch the women's final.

Williams has previously spoken out about their friendship and proven that she has Markle's back when it comes to any negative press about her. Back in December, the tennis superstar shut down a reporter after she was asked about "criticism" directed at the royal shortly after winning the semi-finals.

"I didn't know there was negative media out there, any time I see her name attached to anything I don't read it," she told reporters at the post-match press conference.

While Williams didn't entertain rumors about the Duchess of Sussex, she did share some details about their relationship.

"She couldn't be a better friend to me," she revealed. "Low moments, high moments, she's always there and that's all I want to be to her."

A few months later in July, Williams echoed her earlier statements during another press conference, telling reporters, "Shes such a great friend and a great person as well. And always positive, no matter what."

While Markle is expected to be jetting back across the pond on Sunday, her flying all the way to New York just to see Williams' match shows that, despite an ocean dividing them, their friendship is stronger than ever.

The Reason Harry Styles Turned Down ‘The Little Mermaid’ Makes A Lot Of Sense

If you've been wondering what Harry Styles has been up to, you're definitely not the only one. It turns out the former One Direction member was almost going to hit the big screen once again by starring in Disney's upcoming live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, but decided against it. The reason Harry Styles turned down The Little Mermaid makes a lot of sense, since he is choosing to focus on his music.

According to the The Hollywood Reporter, Styles revealed that the opportunity to star as Prince Eric in the live-action version of The Little Mermaid "was discussed," but that he ultimately passed on the role. Styles would have starred opposite actress Halle Bailey, who will play Ariel in the Disney film. The star-studded cast also includes Melissa McCarthy, who will play Ursula, Jacob Tremblay, who will voice Flounder, and Awkwafina, who will voice Scuttle.

So why did Styles pass on the dream opportunity to star as Prince Eric in the upcoming film? Styles told The Face magazine that he's already tied up with his music: "I want to put music out and focus on that for a while." He also took the time to praise The Little Mermaid, explaining that "everyone involved in it was amazing, so I think it's going to be great. I'll enjoy watching it, I'm sure."

I totally respect and admire Styles for focusing on his music rather than attempting to multi-task by juggling more projects than he can handle. After all, Styles just wrapped up his new album, and the single is still being decided on. In a recent Rolling Stone interview, Styles described his album as "all about having sex and feeling sad," so get ready for the feels. After releasing his new album, I'm sure the global pop star will be kept busy with live performances and interviews. Fans really can't get enough of Styles, and he's undoubtedly got his plate full already with his musical career.

Still, it's always a bummer to miss out on an opportunity to see Styles on the big screen. Luckily, you can still get a glimpse of Styles' acting chops in the Christopher Nolan World War II epic, Dunkirk. The 2017 film, which features stars like Tom Hardy and Cillian Murphy, is set during the Allied evacuation of the beaches of Dunkirk, France. Styles played Alex, one of the soldiers attempting to get off the beach in the midst of sinking destroyers and gunshots. It's a riveting tale, and you won't want to miss out on seeing Styles blossom as a young actor.

The former One Direction star has definitely been active in the movie world since his Dunkirk debut he even auditioned to play Elvis Presley in an upcoming biopic. Though the role ultimately went to Austin Butler, Styles took it like a champ and explained he wasn't upset. Styles may be focusing on his music for now, but given the rumblings about his on-screen opportunities recently, I really wouldn't be surprised if he returns to acting in the near future.
