Tinder's Anti-Harassment AI Feature Deters Creeps From Messaging You

If you've ever received a dating app message that's left you feeling more 🤢 than 😍, you're definitely not alone. What one person sees as flirtation could be perceived by another as harassment, and for some people, the threat of receiving inappropriate or sexually explicit messages discourages them from dating apps entirely. Being creepy on dating apps was far too easy for far too long, and luckily, Tinder is doing something about it. Tinder's anti-harassment AI feature, which launched on Jan. 23, asks users "Does this bother you?" when offensive language is detected, making it easier than ever for users to report harassment.

And it gets even cooler: Tinder's safety-focused updates also include a feature called "Undo," which asks users if they'd like to take back a message containing potentially offensive language before it's delivered. While you can always block or report a match if you feel unsafe, these new updates work to increase user accountability and deter gross messages. As Tinder's head of trust and safety products, Rory Kozoll, explained to Wired, "If 'Does This Bother You?' is about making sure you're OK, 'Undo' is about asking, 'Are you sure?'" But does it make a difference? I spoke to current and former Tinder users to get their thoughts on the update.

,

Some People Are Into It

"I think this feature is great because sometimes, you accept certain toxic behavior from strangers just because they're 'cute,'" current Tinder user Aylin, 26, explains. "You don't know him yet. Maybe it's his humor. However, when an app reminds me that there might be some red flags, it makes me reconsider for a second."

"I think having the option to easily report someone would absolutely make my experience better," says current user Chichi, 24. "I think it also sets a tone to people that are engaging on the apps to be respectful because not doing so has repercussions."

Current user Alexa, 22, says, "I personally like this addition and think it will be helpful in the future. Online dating is especially tricky because one person's flirtation can easily be offensive to someone else. With this new AI update, it will help me feel comfortable and confident talking to others. As a woman, online dating is kind of creepy sometimes. I always try to go the extra mile when it comes to safety, and I admit to reporting users in the past. I think this will help increase safety and respect on the platform."

Others Are A Little Skeptical

While some people like the idea of the update, they aren't entirely convinced that it will make a difference in user experience. Some pointed out that Tinder might mistakenly flag inoffensive messages, believing them to be offensive, and a few suggested that the issue of inappropriate behavior on dating apps can't be solved so simply.

"How does it know the difference between mutual flirting and one person being a creep?" former Tinder user Claire, 25, points out. "At some point, it's more the environment of the app that promotes harassment than anything else."

"It does make my experience better but, well... creeps are creeps, and they sure find a way to get back," says current user Akanksha, 20.

Former user Aftyn, 23, has seen this feature in action, and thinks it needs a little fine-tuning. "I think it's a great feature to deal with those initial offensive messages," she says, "[but] it can be off-base sometimes, so it still has a few kinks to work out, IMO."

Former user Tess, 24 (who met her current boyfriend on Tinder), says, "I think it's a good step in the right direction. Most young women I know have horror stories about aggressive or weird Tinder messages, and I'm hoping this feature helps the senders of those messages realize their approach to online dating needs to be much more respectful. The core issue, in my opinion, is one of consent: being on Tinder does not automatically translate to automatic consent to receiving sexual messages, which some users really, really don't get. I don't think Tinder's algorithm can fix that, but I am happy to see that the app is making changes in an effort to make users feel safer and perhaps more in control."

Some Don't Like The Update

Not everyone is pleased with the update. Some users find the new security feature unnecessary and even invasive, saying that they can determine what they find offensive without Tinder's input.

Current Tinder user Katie, 23, says, "I don't love the idea that this means Tinder is always just idly perusing your conversations on the app from a privacy standpoint, even if it's intended to root out harassment (though I'm sure they could do that before). Honestly, I haven't had any especially awful harassment experiences on Tinder, so I don't think that this feature, for me, adds much to the user experience."

Katie believes that her own judgment is more powerful than any algorithm. "I have used the block button before when people have made comments that made me uncomfortable," she adds, "but I don't find any harassment I've experienced online as jarring as being catcalled in real life. I don't need Tinder to act as a virtual bystander. I have enough agency to read the intent behind someone's message, decide if it makes me uncomfortable, and report if it I want without needing Tinder to ask me about it first."

As a former Tinder user myself (who found her now-husband on Tinder), I especially like the idea of having the app compel creeps to rethink a potentially weird message before sending it. It's one thing to continually block those who make dating apps an uncomfortable experience for some, but it's another thing to make them question their behavior.

You know what they say: Block a creep, and you'll deter them for a day. Question a creep, and you might just deter them for a lifetime. (Or something like that.)

These Tweets About Christina Koch's Record-Breaking Space Stay Are So Hype

After a lengthy spaceflight of 328 days, astronaut Christina Koch returned from her mission as a new record-holder on Thursday, Feb. 6. Koch landed in Kazakhstan with two of her colleagues: Soyuz Commander Alexander Skvortsov of the Russian space agency Roscosmos and Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency (ESA). As soon as they landed, people on were quick to celebrate. These tweets about Christina Koch's record-breaking space stay are seriously so hype.

NASA announced the safe return of Koch and her colleagues to Kazakhstan's remote town of Dzhezkazgan on Feb. 6. They landed at 4:12 a.m. ET, finally ending Koch's extended mission, which lasted a record-breaking 328 days. This milestone makes Koch the new record-holder for the longest single spaceflight by a woman, which was previously held by Peggy Whitson. She also now holds the second-longest single spaceflight record by a U.S. astronaut, just behind Scott Kelly, who holds the longest recorded spaceflight of 340 days.

Koch took off from Earth on March 14, 2019, and believe it or not, her mission included more than one milestone achievement. Koch, who is also an electrical engineer, took part in the very first all-female spacewalk with Jessica Meir on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, which lasted over seven hours. NASA researchers plan to observe the effects of the long spacewalk on Koch, in preparation for the Artemis program and the future human exploration of Mars in 2021.

Koch is literally making history for female astronauts and women everywhere. Her record-breaking spaceflight is understandably making some waves on Twitter with #CongratsChristina, and people are praising the record-holder as model of female empowerment.

NASA's Johnson Space Center first posted Koch's return to our planet on Twitter:

The response from most users is a mix of pure hype and pride:

Koch's contributions are inspiring women and young girls around the globe:

Koch gave a very excited thumbs up and was beaming with pride when she finally landed:

As for Koch's reaction, she tweeted that she'll miss the seeing the beauty of planet Earth from space and her "space family."

Koch's safe return to Earth is an achievement on its own, but during her stay in space, she completed 5,248 orbits around Earth and traveled 139 million miles in addition to her six spacewalks. She spent 42 hours and 15 minutes outside of the space station, which is nearly two full days exploring and making walks in space. #CongratsChristina!

What Is A Supermoon? Here's What You Should Know About This Spectacular Sight

The sky and space, in general, have bestowed some rare gems on you over the course of the past year. From the eclipse frenzy in December and January to the Saturn-Pluto conjunction, there have been several astronomical events happening back-to-back and on top of each other. Up next: A supermoon on the night of Feb. 8. But what is a supermoon, exactly? Does it have anything to do with everything else that’s happened thus far? Perhaps, but it’s important to know the supermoon has a slightly different take on the term "super."

The very name "supermoon" is seriously intriguing, which is why anyone would be curious about this specific moon and how it differs from the other qualities of the moon you have experienced — many of them in this year alone. As much as you may like to define this highly anticipated event based on what you see, it all circles back to the science behind it. In fact, according to Space.com, the moon doesn't orbit Earth in a pure circular motion. This means that there are instances when the moon is actually closer to Earth than normal. The specific term for this is "perigee." Now, I'm sure you know what a full moon is. Well, when a perigee and a full moon occur at the same time, the result is a supermoon. In other words, think of the supermoon as an amplified full moon, because the visuals are far more apparent.

What's so impressive about it?

Space.com notes that a supermoon can come into view at a whopping 30 percent brighter than a full moon and appear almost 14 percent bigger. That's right — bigger and brighter. Maybe that's where the "super" in supermoon comes from. Full moons are already majorly apparent when they're beautifully shining in the night sky. I mean, let's be honest, it's the reason why you're excitedly pointing to the moon and demanding that your friends around you look as well.

Don't let the massiveness intimidate you, though. You'll even be able to see this exquisite sight the night before and the night after the official Feb. 9 starting time. This will also be the first supermoon of 2020, so gaze intently.

Like most mesmerizing matters that occur in the sky, your mood may be steered by the stars.

OK, maybe not the stars exactly, but the moon may take a toll, as expected, on your emotions. The moon is going to be in Leo, which means there may be some attention-seeking behavior and perhaps even ego trips. However, despite the dark side of cinematic Leo, there are still wonderful things stemming from this lunation. It has everything to do with self-love and the genuine joy you’re capable of feeling in your heart. This is also an excellent opportunity for speaking your truth, especially if it comes from the heart.

Although, don't use the moon as an excuse to let unattended feelings finally make their debut. Say what you want, when you want, but if you need a scapegoat, the moon's taking the fall. Until, of course, you have enough time to explain yourself.

Honestly, though, many live for the possibility that something so far away can actually govern the way they feel down here. I've never formally met the moon, but knowing it can navigate my sensitivity astounds me.

Even if you don't majorly follow astrology, it's interesting to see how the stars align in your favor. Don't miss out on this celestial event because, again, it is the first supermoon of 2020.

Donald Trump's First Speech After His Impeachment Acquittal Was A Victory Lap

In an unsurprising conclusion to the Senate's impeachment trial, the Senate's GOP majority voted on Feb. 5 to acquit President Donald Trump on both of the impeachment charges against him. The next day, on Thursday, Feb. 6, Trump made his first speech after his impeachment acquittal, during which he denounced the impeachment process as "evil" and "corrupt," thanked his legal team, and essentially took a victory lap.

When Trump first took the podium ahead of his statement, he received an extensive round of applause. As is typical for Trump, the president began his remarks by slamming the impeachment proceedings as a "very unfair situation" and claiming "everybody wanted to come" see his acquittal statement.

"We had the witch hunt, it started from the day we came down the elevator," Trump said, "and it never really stopped. We've been going through this right now for three years. It was evil, it was corrupt, it was dirty cops, it was leakers and liars, and this should never happen to another president."

Trump then touted his administration's achievements, suggesting he has accomplished more in his first few years in office than prior presidents. He subsequently repeated that he did "nothing wrong" in his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky, and he held up a copy of The Washington Post to show attendees the front page headline: "Trump Acquitted."

Guardian News on YouTube

Although Trump dismissed the impeachment proceedings and former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe as "bullsh*t," he spent much of his speech giving shout-outs to the Republican lawmakers who defended him from impeachment and removal from office. Whereas Americans saw a feud between Trump and Mitch McConnell back in 2017, the president had nothing but praise for the Senate Majority Leader during his Feb. 6 statement. The president lauded McConnell for doing a "fantastic job" during Trump's impeachment trial, and for confirming nearly 200 federal judges, including two Supreme Court justices.

From there, Trump praised numerous House and Senate Republicans — including Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy, Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley, Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler, North Dakota Rep. Kelly Armstrong, and California Rep. Devin Nunes — for supporting him. During his shout-out for Utah Sen. Mike Lee, Trump criticized Lee's fellow Utah senator, Mitt Romney, for voting against Trump's acquittal. And when he thanked House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Trump said he would support McCarthy's bid to replace Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.

During his speech, Trump certainly did not keep quiet about the Democrats who led the impeachment process. He described Pelosi and House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff as "vicious," "horrible, "evil," and "sick." He also criticized Democrats' immigration and health care policies, and suggested that his impeachment and acquittal actually boosted his poll numbers. A recent Gallup poll indicated Trump had achieved his personal best approval rating — 49% — though The Washington Post attributed that rating to a decrease in Democrats responding to polls.

Trump concluded his remarks by thanking his family for standing by him throughout the impeachment process. He apologized to his wife and children for "having them have to go through a phony, rotten deal," and he welcomed both his daughter Ivanka and first lady Melania onto the stage.

Trump celebrated his acquittal with a lengthy speech that was essentially a celebration of his own administration, but the outcome of the Senate impeachment trial was all but certain. Although Senate Democrats spent weeks trying to convince their Republican colleagues to subpoena witnesses and convict the president, the GOP's Senate majority was not inclined to remove their party's leader from the White House. Only one Republican — Romney — broke ranks with his party and voted to convict the president on the abuse of power charge. Shortly after the trial concluded, McConnell told reporters "it's time to move on," in contrast to Trump's remarks, which focused more on patting himself on the back and criticizing the Democratic Party.

"This decision has been made," McConnell said, per CBS News. "As far as I'm concerned, it's in the rearview mirror, and the consequences of it in terms of the future are up to the voters of the country to decide who they want to lead the government."

Now that Trump's impeachment trial has officially come to an end, Democrats appear to be turning their full attention to the 2020 presidential election as an alternative means of getting Trump out of office. The Democratic primary season kicked off in Iowa on Feb. 3, and will continue in New Hampshire on Feb. 11.

Timothée Chalamet's Relationship History Is Short But Sweet

It’s impossible to forget the moment the world fell in love with Timothée Chalamet. The actor’s breakout role in Call Me By Your Name earned him a Best Actor nomination at the 2018 Academy Awards, and it elevated him from relative unknown to full-on heartthrob status. Since then, he’s become one of Hollywood’s most talked-about stars, most recently appearing as Laurie in Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Little Women. With awards season now in full swing, it’s only natural to wonder about Timothée Chalamet’s relationship history. He has won the hearts of adoring fans and the respect of film critics, but the actor isn't quite so easily won over in return.

Chalamet is pretty guarded about his love life, and he refuses to talk much about it in interviews (unsurprisingly, the subject comes up a lot). In a January 2018 interview with W Magazine, Chalamet wouldn’t even divulge where he had his first-ever date. “I don’t know. Date is very much a scary word, because then that context has been established,” he said. “You can always see people on early date behavior.”

That’s not to say, though, that Chalamet hasn’t dated at all. He’s reportedly been linked to two different people over the years, both of whom are in the entertainment business.

Lily-Rose Depp (2018 - Now)

Chalamet is currently reported to be dating Lily-Rose Depp, his co-star in the 2019 Netflix film The King. Elite Daily reached out to representatives for Chalamet and Depp for confirmation of their relationship, but has not heard back by the time of publication. Depp and Chalamet reportedly met on set for The King in June 2018, and relationship rumors started flying when they were photographed kissing in New York City in October 2018. Two months later, they were spotted walking arm-in-arm around Paris.

Chalamet downplayed these dating rumors when he showed up to the Golden Globes on Jan. 6, 2019, bringing his mom as his date. Access asked Chalamet if he’d be meeting up with Depp later that night, and he expertly dodged the question. “I’m here with mom,” he laughed. For several months, not much was reported about Chalamet and Depp’s rumored relationship. Then, on Sept. 2, 2019, they both attended the Venice Film Festival premiere of The King and looked awfully friendly on the red carpet together. Behold the cuteness:

Later that week, they were photographed making out on a boat in Capri, Italy. On Oct. 1, 2019, Depp told ET that she found it “nerve-wracking” working with Chalamet on the movie. “It's always exciting to work with somebody who you know has given themselves so wholeheartedly to their role and is so invested,” she said. “It can be nerve-wracking to work with people whose talent you admire so much, but hopefully it can only make things better.”

Lourdes Leon (2013)

Before Depp, Chalamet was linked to Lourdes Leon, Madonna’s daughter, whom he reportedly met while attending LaGuardia High School in New York City. Their romance didn’t last, but they apparently remained on good terms. Chalamet told Andy Cohen in 2017 that he and Leon had talked about his role in Call Me By Your Name. “She hasn’t seen it yet, but she’s excited to,” he said at the time. “She teases me about the public appearances… the movie itself she’s very excited about, and the reception it’s been getting is only a great thing.”

Whatever is currently going on in his love life, don’t expect Chalamet to show up at the 2020 Oscars with a date. He’s known for attending red carpets solo or with members of his family. One thing fans can expect? Chalamet is sure to make waves with a killer outfit and his signature coy charm. He doesn’t need to share the spotlight with anyone.

The Meaning Of The Supermoon Signals A Shift In Communication

$

There's a big bad supermoon on the horizon — but it's not actually bad. It's actually going to be beautiful, not only because of its size, but because it's the first supermoon of 2020, also referred to as "The Snow Moon." The February 2020 supermoon is going to be in the sky on the night of Feb. 8, so get your warmest blankets, sleeping bags, and plan yourself a trip somewhere you can see the sky, even if it's on your roof. Once you find out the meaning of the supermoon for your zodiac sign, you won't regret participating in this gorgeous celestial event.

Before I get into the nitty-gritty details, I can already hear some people asking what a supermoon is, so I'll knock that out first. A supermoon is a moon that's as close to Earth as it can get without flying out of its orbit, resulting in a moon that appears much bigger and brighter than usual.

This particular supermoon is going to be in the sign of Leo, meaning you are in for quite the theatrical night, once where you'll be feeling all the feels to the greatest degree possible. Here's what it could mean for you:

Sensitivity Turned Up To The Maximum Degree

A supermoon also occurs in conjunction with either a new moon or a full moon. The one that's occurring on Feb. 9 at 2:33 a.m. ET will be happening when the moon is full. That means you can expect to turn up the emotional effects you might feel on a regular full moon — not only because the moon is closer to Earth, but because it's in the sign of Leo, which is a highly expressive sign to begin with. You can expect to not only feel all your feelings, but to put them on display as well because Leo has absolutely no problem doing that.

Secrets Revealed

Having a full supermoon amplifies the spiritual effects of a regular full moon, meaning there could be things that come to light during this time that put an end to something. This could be a relationship, a job you are stuck in, or something else that just isn't working or isn't right for you. Full moons are a time of harvesting, of pulling up emotional weeds, and cutting the cord on behaviors, habits, or relationships that are no longer serving you. Just try to remain calm when you receive this news. It may feel as if you've taken two steps forward and one step back, but in fact, you're truly taking one step back and six steps forward. Whatever the full moon ushers out of your lives is a sign of major growth to come.

Themes Of The Supermoon

This supermoon is going to be shining a light on particular Leo-based themes, such as how much confidence you have in yourself, along with your ability to experience joy. Your happiness versus what you’re doing to experience genuine happiness is something to reflect on during this time. Themes related to your personal authenticity will also resurface, whether it be romantically or personally. Assertive Mars, the planet of action, aggression and red-hot passions, will be in harmony with this lunation, which means it will inspire you to live your individual truth, no matter what it costs.

3 Myers-Briggs Personality Types Who Are Thoughtful AF, So Soak It Up

$

Honestly, who doesn't want a nurturing partner — you know, the type to send you the perfect meme to cheer you up on a crummy Monday, or buy you your favorite fro-yo just because they know you're struggling? While every personality can be caring and considerate in their own unique ways, the Myers-Briggs personality types who are thoughtful to the core may just blow you away with their frequent romantic gestures.

While both Introverts and Extroverts as well as Sensors and Intuitives seem to have the capacity for this quality, many of the most thoughtful personality types share two preferences: Feeling and Judging. And it totally makes sense, too: The FJ Myers-Briggs types can quickly and easily detect the needs of others, and not only that, but they feel a deep sense of responsibility to try and fulfill those needs. Basically, they're always trying to figure out how to make you feel more comfortable, content, and loved.

So, whether you're wondering where your current significant other falls on the spectrum of thoughtfulness or actively seeking out a partner who possesses this strength, you'll definitely want to keep the following types in mind. Not only are they sure to show you how much they care, but better yet, they'll do so in ways you'd never expect, like bringing you breakfast in bed or making you a playlist to boost your spirits.

,

INFJ

Helping others is kind of The Advocate's main mission in life, and that's why this personality type so often ends up involved in charity work. The insightful and altruistic INFJ doesn't take their relationships for granted, which means they're always putting in lots of effort to ensure that their partner feels appreciated. They love surprising the object of their affection, and since they take so much time to get to know the person they're dating, they're able to tailor their efforts to their partner's needs and preferences.

Even though they have a Judging preference, INFJs have a slight tendency toward spontaneity, but it's always grounded in practicality. So, if they surprise you by planning a last-minute trip to see your fam, it's because they know for a fact that you're dying for some time with them.

Best of all, as a warm and compassionate Feeler, The Advocate is never afraid to show their love, so you're never likely to stop feeling it. They have a certain enthusiasm when it comes to their relationships that allows them to impress their partners again and again.

ESFJ

The Consul is a nurturing, devoted partner — essentially, they're a born caregiver. In fact, this personality type can sometimes be a bit too selfless, neglecting their own needs when they always put their partner's first.

But what makes the ESFJ shine is their ability to predict your needs before you even know them yourself. When you're too tired to cook, you won't even have to say it — they'll have already ordered takeout. When you're in dire need of some TLC, they'll have already booked you a massage (or be giving you one themselves).

The ESFJ's dominant function, Extraverted Feeling, means they make super attentive and empathetic partners. So, if you're dating this personality type, consider yourself #blessed.

ISFJ

The Defender thrives on giving to others, especially their SO. Dedicated, responsible, and tad perfectionistic, the ISFJ's love language is typically acts of service. So, while they may not always find it easy to express their love and devotion verbally, you can bet they'll show you through their actions. They love doing anything they can to make their partner's life easier, whether that means doing your laundry when you're too busy studying for exams, or packing you lunch when you wake up late for work.

But perhaps the ISFJ's best trait is their ability to retain every little detail you tell them, and then use that information to shower you with thoughtful gifts, or offer you practical help when you need it most. If you casually mention to an ISFJ that you've always wanted to see Lizzo in concert, they'll probably surprise you with tickets when she comes to town months down the line. Their sharp memory and attention to detail are just that good.

Sofia Richie Unfollowed Kourtney Kardashian On Instagram, So That's Awk

Ah, there's nothing like a good old fashioned Instagram unfollow to passively announce some low-key, under-the-radar celeb beef. As of Feb. 6, it appears that Sofia Richie unfollowed Kourtney Kardashian on Instagram. Cosmopolitan first made the discovery and Elite Daily confirmed the news that same day. If you're not totally convinced, try confirming it for yourself. Give Sofia's profile a visit and try searching for "kourtneykardash" in her following list. I promise you'll get hit with a "no users found," which is especially interesting because Sofia still follows pretty much every single one of Kourtney's immediate family members with the exception of Kendall Jenner and Rob Kardashian.

To be fair, Kourtney also seems to have unfollowed Sofia as of Feb. 6. One simple search through Kourtney's following list makes it clear she does not follow Sofia. Someone else notably missing from her following list? Her ex and Sofia's current boyfriend Scott Disick, who also seems to have unfollowed Kourtney and the rest of the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan.

Some publications reported back in March of 2018 that both Kourtney and Scott had unfollowed each other, so that unfollow could possibly still be leftover from that period of time. Or maybe they followed each other again at some point then decided to go back to unfollowing each other as soon as Sofia decided to remove Kourtney from her feed.

Needless to say, this doesn't have to mean something major happened. Maybe Kourtney was scrolling through her Instagram, came across a picture of her ex's girlfriend, and decided she just didn't need that kind of energy on her newsfeed. Then maybe Sofia saw it and was like, "Oh, if Kourtney doesn't follow me, I don't have to follow her" and Scott was like, "I haven't followed her in years" and that was that.

Maybe they were all having dinner one night and laughing about how fans would probably freak out if they simultaneously unfollowed each other and now everyone's suffering the consequences of their practical joke. Or, hey, maybe they really did have a big blowout fight. I could keep spit-balling possible scenarios forever but, unfortunately, nobody but the three of them really know what went down for sure.

News of the unfollowing does come as a bit of a surprise seeing as the three seemed to have gotten along well over the past few years. I mean, how could anyone ever forget the iconic 2018 picture Scott posted on Instagram of himself sitting between Sofia and Kourtney, both bikini-clad, while on vacation in Mexico?

Here's to hoping unfollowing each other on Instagram doesn't necessarily mean their days of vacationing together are officially over.

These New Google Maps Features For 2020 Make The App Even More Useful

Google Maps is celebrating 15 years since its inception, and the company is introducing brand new features to celebrate the milestone. These new Google Maps' features for 2020 are about to make the app even more useful. The update includes an improved interface, a brand new Google Maps app icon, and new category tabs.

As of Thursday, Feb. 6, you'll notice some changes in Google Maps in Android and iOS. The new features in the app include an updated tab system, which makes everything a bit easier to navigate. Now, instead of three tabs at the bottom of the screen, you'll find five different tabs. These tabs include the original Explore and Commute tabs, but now you'll also see Saved, Contribute, and Updates.

The Explore tab is where you'll find places near you, like local restaurants, attractions, and city landmarks. If you're looking for a place to go near you, this is where you'll to go to find info, ratings, and reviews. The Commute tab shows you real-time traffic updates for your commute, as well as travel times and suggested alternate routes to get you to your location and back home as efficiently as possible.

The Saved tab lets you see your saved destinations in lists, such as favorites, places you want to go, and places you've starred. You can set these lists as private, as well as share them with others to plan out your group trip. This pre-existing feature is now a lot easier to access, and you can view all of the places you've saved in one spot.

The new Contribute tab gives you a place to share your knowledge with the Google Maps app to help keep it up to date. Update road details, addresses, and missing spots on the map, as well as write reviews and share photos from places you've visited. By contributing to Google reviews in Maps, other users get an idea of what a place is like before they make the visit.

Finally, the Updates tab combines Google Maps' recommendations for you, as well as the messages section, where you can message businesses with your questions. You'll also see trending spots picked for you by local experts and publishers, so you're getting solid destination suggestions.

For a limited-time, you'll see a birthday-themed party car when you start navigation. Plus, the Google Maps icon is getting a makeover with a multi-colored location marker, which represents the app's evolution over time.

Another new feature coming to Google Maps is called transit attributes. Starting in March, you can access these details about certain public transportation methods underneath the description of the transit location you're traveling to. It includes information about accessibility, the temperature inside the train car, and whether or not there is physical security or video surveillance on board. The info comes from past riders to make sure it's an accurate indicator of the conditions.

If You Find Your Partner On A Dating App, Here’s What To Do

Oh dating apps, they're such an amazing advance in dating technology. The convenience and variety of people you can meet on them have changed the dating game forever. Of course, with all the good comes the, well, complicated. Like say, for instance, you're going about your happily coupled-up life when you discover that your partner is still on a dating app. Record scratch. You're probably wondering what the person you believed to be very much off the market is doing on the literal dating market? In a case like this, Eric Resnick, a professional dating profile writer and online dating coach, tells Elite Daily first things first: don't panic. Some statistics about dating apps like Tinder a significant portion of Millennials on the app are there as distraction or confidence boost rather than to actually meet someone, he reveals. So, your partner popping up on Hinge could be innocent.

However, you're still probably going to want to get to the bottom of things and confirm whether your partner's back in the swiping business. Here's how the experts say to approach this oh-so-modern and not uncommon dating issue.

What It Could Mean If Your Partner's On A Dating App.

The experts agree that when you first discover your partner is on a dating app, it’s important to keep an open mind and not just jump to the worst conclusions. As Julie Spira, online dating expert and author of Love in the Age of Trump: How Politics is Polarizing Relationships tells Elite Daily, there are a handful of reasons why your partner may be popping up in a dating app. “[It could be that] they deleted their profile from their phone but didn't deactivate it,” she says. “This falls into the category of digital housekeeping. Not everyone knows exactly how to permanently delete a dating profile. I've even seen profiles of people who were happily married who had no idea their profile was still lingering on a dating app. If this is the case, your partner should download the app again, and together, change the settings to delete the dating app, instead of just removing it,” she explains. It could also be, as Resnick suggested, that they're just looking at profiles with no intention of engaging. But Spira says this behavior could be a warning sign for the ongoing health of your relationship. “This activity probably means they're questioning your relationship, are wondering who else is out there,” she explains. “This is a form of emotional cheating, but it isn't the end of the world. If this is the case, it's time to communicate about what your partner likes about your relationship and address areas that could be improved.”

Finally, your partner's appearance on a dating app could potentially be the one you're dreading. “They're actively matching, chatting, and meeting others behind your back,” says Spira. “This is full-on cheating, unless you've agreed to an open relationship.” Ultimately, there's only one way to determine which of these scenarios you’re dealing with, says Spira, and that's to talk to them about it.

What To Do When You Find Your Partner's On A Dating App.

How you approach the issue, says Resnick, will depend largely on what stage of the relationship you're in. “Are you still in that getting to know your phase, or have you become exclusive?,” he asks. "If it's the former, just let it be. You haven't committed to each other and what they do isn't your business.” But if you find that this is still bothering you, Resnick says that's a sign that you may want more from the relationship and it may be time to talk to them about how you are both feeling about taking things to the next level. “If you decide that it's time to go exclusive, then you can ask if they are still on any dating sites," he suggests. "It is not uncommon for people in a relationship to ceremonially delete their dating accounts together.”

If you're already exclusive and find your partner's profile on a dating app is still active, Diana Dorell intuitive dating coach and author of The Dating Mirror: Trust Again, Love Again, counsels that having an honest conversation with your partner about what you found is important. “Decide what you want to do about it. If you want to keep the relationship, then a calm cool approach is best,” she tells Elite Daily.

One tactic all the experts agree to avoid is going on a catfishing expedition. Don’t make up a profile just to try messaging your partner for the purposes of seeing if they respond. “No one wants to be with a partner who's a stalker, and before you start accusing your steady beau of cheating, you should try to find out what's going on,” says Spira. “Know that if you create a fake profile to catch them in the act, you can kiss your relationship goodbye.”

How To Talk To Your Partner About Finding Them On An App.

Once you've taken a deep breath and are ready to talk to your partner about finding them on a dating app, Dorell says you should also consider what it is you want to achieve with the conversation, so that you can be very intentional in your approach. “Decide what it is that you want. Is it to feel heard? For them to admit it so you don't feel crazy? To break up? And before you make the accusation, you can gather evidence, facts will win over your emotions,” she says.

When it comes time to talk to them, Spira favors a direct approach. “If you've agreed to be exclusive, and you've both taken down your profiles, I recommend you say the following: ‘My friend [insert name] was swiping right on Tinder, and somehow she got matched with you.’ Then show your partner the screenshot, and button your lips, because it's time to listen to the explanation before spilling a drink in their face,” she suggests.

Dorell agrees that it's essential to just give your partner plenty of space to respond. “Pay attention to your intuition. You'll know if they are lying because your body will tell you," she explains. "Your job in this conversation is to get to the truth and that's something you'll know within you. Then, you can decide what you want to do next.”

Ultimately, it will be up to you and your partner to determine what happens next. Maybe they log in and delete the profile and you proceed as you were before. Or maybe you decide what's best for you is to move on to someone else who won’t be tempted to window shop online. The key is to trust your intuition and do what feels right to you. Spira offers one last bit of advice in the case you decide it's time to end the relationship: “If you find out your partner has a second life on a dating app, know that you're not alone. It takes a few minutes to create or reactivate a dating profile, and if you're not their one-and-only, about 50 million-plus other singles are waiting to meet you.” Hang in there, you got this.

I Told My Partner About My Eating Disorder & It Brought Us Closer Together

"What do you think the tiny yellow seeds are?" my boyfriend asked, eyeing the freshly baked multigrain bread on his sandwich. “Amaranth,” I replied, without missing a beat. “It's naturally gluten-free and high in fiber.” He laughed, shaking his head. “Why do you know so much about this stuff?” And there it was: the moment of truth. I could have shaken it off like it was common knowledge, or lied and told him I once considered becoming a nutritionist. But ultimately, I chose the truth. I told my partner about my eating disorder, and that single conversation changed our relationship in ways I never expected.

My history with disordered eating began in my junior year of college. After a devastating, blindsiding breakup with my boyfriend of two and a half years, I lost interest in just about everything, which included eating. Just a few weeks later, I contracted mono, which also took a toll on my appetite. Within a couple of months, I had visibly lost weight, and people took notice. "What's your secret?" They asked. But it wasn't yoga or Paleo — it was crippling depression and illness.

As the praise began to build, I felt a mounting pressure. If I looked great now, that must mean something was wrong with me before, right? What would happen if I gained the weight back? I didn't want to find out. So, my eating habits became stricter, and my exercise routine more vigorous. When I moved out to Los Angeles for my final semester of college, I spiraled further — and by the time I flew back home post-semester, my mother cried because she didn't even recognize me. The next day, my doctor confirmed that I would need to seek treatment for an eating disorder. It took two different nutritionists, one super challenging meal plan, countless visits with several therapists, and a handful of group counseling sessions, but within one year of being diagnosed, I was on my journey to recovery.

Why did I opt to conceal my life-altering experience from my boyfriend of seven months, who I love and trust? Because shame is a powerful thing. In my eyes, I felt that my history with disordered eating made me seem weak. Additionally, since I met my boyfriend four years after I entered the recovery stage, I convinced myself there was no need for him to know about my previous struggles. So, I compartmentalized that part of my identity in an effort to protect myself from judgement or scrutiny. It existed solely in a small dark closet in the corner of my mind, a door I rarely opened, except for in therapy.

But hiding my ED began to take a toll on my relationship because I was only allowing my partner to see a portion of myself. For instance, he couldn't understand why going five or six hours between meals gave me intense anxiety. That empty feeling I got when I'd gone too long without eating made me panicked because it reminded me of how I felt all the time when I was in the throes of my disorder. But how could he possibly be compassionate or supportive if he didn't know my history?

Dr. Jennifer Rollin, clinical psychotherapist and founder of The Eating Disorder Center, emphasizes that choosing to tell your SO about your past eating disorder is ultimately a personal decision. That said, she encourages individuals to consider opening up about this piece of themselves (if they feel safe doing so) because there are so many potential benefits to sharing.

"Shame thrives in secrecy, and there is nothing shameful about having struggled with an eating disorder," she explains. "Plus, if you're [in recovery], that's something to be proud of. For many couples, it may only serve to bring them closer together, and if it doesn't, that is also something that could be important to know."

Dr. Rollins is right. There were several times when I had been tempted to tell my partner about my ED before, like when he happened upon an old photo of me during my lowest point of disordered eating, and I wondered if he already suspected something. Still, the words always got stuck in my throat somewhere — that is, until that moment at Flour Bakery, when I felt as if I'd reached a turning point in my relationship. I could either keep maintaining a level of secrecy or let my boyfriend in. Maybe he wouldn't like what he found, but at least then I would know whether or not he loved me — the whole me, not just certain parts. So, when he asked me why I happened to know so much about a particular superfood, I took a deep breath.

"Because that used to be a big part of my life," I explained. "Knowing all of the nutritional facts and benefits of every food. It was an obsession. An unhealthy one."

He nodded, and I could see the wheels turning behind his eyes.

"So, what happened?" he asked. He took a bite of his sandwich, and something about his casual response made me feel comfortable. I could finally let my guard down.

The story came pouring out of me: how the disorder started, how it grew, how I got through it, and how, for a while, I wondered if I could.

“Why didn’t you tell me about this before?” he asked.

“I guess I was a little worried about what you would think of me,” I told him.

After taking the last bite of his meal, he looked me square in the eyes. I felt as naked as a fully clothed human can feel.

“What I think,” he responded, “is that to survive that, you must be very strong."

From that point on, I no longer worried about accidentally slipping up and revealing something that pointed to my history with disordered eating. I found comfort in the fact that my partner could be more sensitive to my experience, and more aware of any potential triggers — like talking about diets or making any comments about weight loss or body image.

Not only that, but exposing something so personal seemed to inspire us both to be more candid with each other about our past struggles — painful breakups, deep-seated fears and insecurities, unhealthy tendencies — and how they shaped us so that we could be more compassionate and understanding partners to each other overall.

Moreover, I had been so worried that telling my boyfriend would change his perception of me that I didn't even consider that it would change my self-perception. My recovery began to become something I could wear proudly, like a medal. In fact, once I told my boyfriend about my past, it felt like the floodgates opened, and I was eager for more opportunities to talk about the experience. Within a couple of months, I became a repeat speaker at the Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association's (MEDA) weekly Hope & Inspiration series in Massachusetts, where I recited a speech for women currently in recovery and participated in a Q&A.

My boyfriend not only drove me to and from MEDA but gave me an encouraging pep talk beforehand and took me out for a celebratory brunch afterward. In fact, he's been my biggest cheerleader in sharing my experience with others so that maybe, just maybe, I can help to erode the stigma and shame around eating disorders and inspire those on the road to recovery to keep fighting.

Author and researcher Brené Brown says that vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, and courage. And I've certainly found that to be true. Letting myself be seen was a risk, but that's what true intimacy evokes — knowing if someone loves all of you, with no conditions and no stipulations. And for me, opening up not only affirmed my partner's love but my capacity for self-love, too.

If you or someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder, National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) is here to help. Call the toll-free, confidential helpline at 1-800-931-2237, or click to chat with a NEDA Helpline volunteer. 4 Zodiac Signs Who Reread Their Ex's Texts More Than They Should

$
0
0

Revisiting old texts from an ex is like continuously rereading the same book. Maybe you're trying to recreate the experience of reading that book for the first time. Maybe reading the same book feels easy and comforting. Maybe you're searching for new meaning that you may have missed the first time (or the second time, or the 100th time). No matter what your reasoning may be, rereading that same book keeps you from discovering new ones, and rereading texts from an ex keeps you from moving on. Unfortunately, for the zodiac signs who reread their ex's texts more often than they should, nostalgia and obsession tend to trump logic.

The jury is still out on whether you should delete photos of your ex after a breakup, but most experts agree that rereading an ex's old messages isn't terribly productive, whether those texts are loving or toxic. As dating coach Cherlyn Chong previously explained to Elite Daily, "It's a bad idea to do so if you're still not over the relationship, because that can set you back and undo a lot of the work you've done on healing." But if you're one of these signs, you might be more tempted than most to revisit those convos, no matter how damaging.

,

Pisces (Feb. 19—March 20)

Telling a Pisces to move on from something is like telling an Aries that winning isn't everything — it won't make any sense to them. This water sign is prone to fantasizing, and nothing provides them with an escape from reality quite like rereading messages from a former flame. By revisiting those old conversations, Pisceans are able to transport themselves back to a time before their breakup (and, of course, see it all through rose-colored glasses). A Pisces will do just about anything to avoid reality, and deleting an ex's texts is just way too real for this sign to handle.

Cancer (June 21—July 22)

Cancer is the most nostalgic sign of the zodiac, and they have an even harder time letting go of the past than Pisces. Rather than living in the present or looking to the future after a breakup, they cope by regressing, brooding, and rereading old convos with their ex. Even if a relationship ended for a reason, this water sign has a tendency to block out the bad times and focus on the good — which is usually a good thing. However, a Cancer would rather read lovey-dovey texts from an ex over and over than admit the breakup was for the best.

Virgo (Aug. 23—Sept. 22)

As an earth sign, Virgos tend to be logical, grounded individuals, so you might be surprised to find them here. But it's because Virgos are critical thinkers that they may reread old messages, hoping to figure out the precise moment when the relationship went south. Those born under this diligent sign are perfectionists, and they hate the idea of making mistakes. Failed relationships feel like personal failures to them, so they'll use all the evidence they have on hand to help dispel their feelings of culpability. For them, text messages offer a paper trail, and they'll follow it until they feel they weren't the ones at fault.

Libra (Sept. 23—Oct. 22)

Libras are hopeless romantics ruled by Venus, and while this idealistic sign can forgive and forget just about anything, they have a difficult time forgetting past relationships. This air sign tries to find logic in everything, as they want to believe that their lives have justice and reason. Most Libras even believe that — through careful analysis — they can make sense of even the most senseless things, like breakups. Those born under this sign may deconstruct old convos with an ex not only to figure out why the relationship ended, but to make sure the relationship had meaning.

Pulling up those old convos on your phone may not be a great habit, but it's an understandable one, especially for these zodiac signs. But at a certain point, the best thing you can do for yourself is send your ex's texts into a virtual blackhole. After all, you won't discover something new if you spend all your time consumed with something old.

Can A Presidential Impeachment Be Expunged? Republicans May Try It

$
0
0

The impeachment trial of President Donald Trump came to a close on Wednesday, Feb. 5, when the Republican-controlled Senate voted to acquit the president of the impeachment charges against him. However, Republicans apparently aren't satisfied with just an acquittal; now, they have a new aim in mind. Can a presidential impeachment be expunged? The GOP may try it if they retake the House of Representatives in the 2020 elections.

Ever since Democrats launched an impeachment inquiry into Trump back in September 2019, Trump has routinely dismissed impeachment proceedings as a "witch hunt" and a "hoax" — and it seems that the president's fellow Republicans share that sentiment. According to The New York Post, GOP House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy doesn't think impeachment should stay on Trump's record. “This is the fastest, weakest, most political impeachment in history,” McCarthy told the Post. “I don’t think it should stay on the books.”

Should Republicans win a majority of seats in the House of Representatives during the 2020 election, McCarthy would likely replace Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. On Feb. 5, the Senate voted to acquit Trump almost entirely on party lines, with only Utah Sen. Mitt Romney breaking with his party to vote in favor of removal from office on one article of impeachment. If Republicans take the House in the 2020 elections and retain their majority in the Senate, it's likely that any vote to expunge Trump's impeachment from his record would similarly pass along party lines.

There is currently no precedent for a presidential impeachment to be expunged. Trump is only the third president in American history to be impeached, and the impeachments of former Presidents Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton both remain in Congressional record. The only real record of any kind of presidential expungement is the censure of former President Andrew Jackson, which was implemented by the Senate in 1834 and expunged from the official record in 1837, per Politico. A censure carries much less weight than an impeachment, though, and does not have as much historical significance.

Ross Baker, a distinguished professor of American politics at Rutgers University, says that he doesn't take McCarthy's threat seriously. "There is no way I know of to expunge an impeachment," he tells Elite Daily by email, noting that it definitely couldn't happen with a Democratic majority anyway. He indicates the threat is likely just political posturing. "The impeachment is indelible; the high court of history has already ruled it in." James Gardner, a law professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo, echoed this sentiment, telling The Independent that “There’s nothing in the Constitution that provides for a procedure of expungement," and that such an expungement would therefore have "no legal significance."

The lack of precedence for such an expungement has not discouraged McCarthy and his fellow Republicans, however. McCarthy told the Post that he wants to investigate how Democrats — namely Pelosi, House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerrold Nadler, and House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff — carried out their impeachment proceedings in the first place.

“I think [if] we take the majority, some of the key priorities for us are infrastructure, lowering prescription drugs and others," McCarthy told the Post. "But I think when you look at what the Democrats have done, I also think we have to get to the bottom of it."

Republicans are hopeful that Trump's acquittal will mobilize his base to turn out for him and their party in November. Democrats, meanwhile, have also turned their focus to the 2020 elections, in the hopes that they can unseat Trump and achieve a Senate majority.

How Many Episodes Will 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16 Have? Here's What To Expect

Grey's Anatomy has somehow been able to capture audiences' attention since 2011. Now, as Season 16 airs on ABC, some may wonder just how much longer the show can keep up the gripping storylines. Fans already know the doctor has ordered a Season 17, but thinking more short-term, how many episodes will Grey's Anatomy Season 16 have?

While ABC hasn't officially announced the number of episodes in Season 16 of Grey's, a bit of research can provide a starting point for a good guess. Since 12 of the 15 seasons completed thus far received 24 or 25 episodes in total, it's very likely Season 16 will do the same. The show's renewal for a Season 17 also makes it seem like the medial drama isn't losing popular appeal, which also provides evidence Season 16 will be as long as the others. The only seasons that have aired fewer than 24 episodes are Season 1 (9 episodes), Season 4 (17 episodes) and Season 7 (22 episodes). Meaning Grey's has stuck with the 24-25 episode season since 2011.

With such lengthy seasons under its belt, Grey's hit its whopping 350th episode mark in November 2019, and with at least one and a half more seasons to go, the show could approach 400 by the end of 2021.

But how many episodes will the show rack up before it leaves TV for good? According to creator Shonda Rhimes, she'll keep making Grey's for as long as Ellen Pompeo wants to keep acting in it. “Ellen and I have a pact that I’m going to do the show as long as she’s going to do the show. So the show will exist as long as both of us want to do it. If she wants to stop, we’re stopping. So I don’t know if we’ll see 600, but I want to keep it feeling fresh,” Rhimes told E! News.

Even ABC's entertainment chief, Karey Burke, is on board with Pompeo and Rhimes deciding the fate of the show. "It will be up to them whether or not they want to continue the show,” Burke said, according to Deadline, adding: “I hope I’m watching with my grandchildren.”

Season 16 of Grey's Anatomy continues on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

Here's some options to check out the acclaimed film:

Joker is a psychological thriller that tells chilling origin story of the villain that has become so well known and interpreted in comics, TV shows, and movie remakes year after year since the character was first introduced Batman No. 1, which was published in 1940. In this theatrical rendition, Joaquin Phoenix plays the villainous lead, Arthur Fleck, a young, troubled man who transforms into the twisted character of Joker and terrorizes the town.

Set in Gotham City in the 1980s, the film evokes a feeling of eeriness from the very beginning. Fleck is a clown by day and an aspiring comedian by night, living in a run-down apartment with his mother. He has a morphed sense of reality, to say the least. Throughout the film, fans see him spiral from bad decision to bad decision until he ultimately assumes the self-titled alias of "Joker."

For those who are brave enough to check out this thriller, it's available online on a variety of platforms. Renting Joker currently costs $3.99 on Amazon, $5.99 on Vudu, $5.99 on Google Play, $5.99 on YouTube, and $3.99 on iTunes, and all platforms also offer the movie for purchase for $12.99. So, you have plenty of options for watching, although all methods will cost you at least a small fee, so be prepared to pay up. It is a Best Picture Oscar contender, after all.

Joker received 11 Academy Award nominations, more than any other film, at this year's Academy Awards — more than any other film this year. To see how many the movie will end up taking home, the 92nd Academy Awards will air at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, on ABC.

Season three of The Masked Singer is in full swing, and fans are serious about their theories. So much so, many are are pretty sure they've already figured out one major celebrity contestant. Based on a few clues and incredibly persuasive fan tweets, it seems like Jordyn Woods might be The Kangaroo on The Masked Singer, and I'd actually put some money on it.

Before each contestant takes the stage, they provide the audience and judges with their backstory through some very vague clues, and The Kangaroo's seemed to allude to some of the obstacles Woods experienced over the past few years.

"I recently lost a person who held my family’s heart together," started The Kangaroo. Woods lost her father to cancer in January 2017, so clue No. 1 falls in line.

"Then, by my own admission, I found myself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons,” Kangaroo continued. “I have to fight for my family and show them that bullies never win." Woods was thrust into the spotlight after she found herself in the middle of a cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson, the ex-boyfriend of her former BFF Kylie Jenner's sister Khloé Kardashian. As a result, Woods battled online bullying.

"One of my greatest fears is being vulnerable, and this year I’ve had no other option than to be vulnerable," The Kangaroo said. "But with this kangaroo costume, I feel like I can get my superhero powers back.”

The last clue The Kangaroo gave mirrors some of the statements Woods made about the online harassment she faced and the effect it had on her in a July 2019 interview with Cosmopolitan UK.

"When I would look at my name and see all of the things that people were saying, it became like a tumor. It became cancerous to me," before later adding, "People got to see me at my most vulnerable moment without even really knowing me, because I don't showcase who I am, really."

Now, fans are positive the voice behind the mask belongs to Woods.

"KANGAROO IS JORDYN WOODS YALL," wrote a fan.

"Watching the masked singer and the minute i heard the kangaroo’s voice, i heard jordyn woods and the story makes so sense to be her," tweeted another.

"Y’all, I went back & watched the masked singer from Monday and the kangaroo is 120000% Jordyn Woods," wrote another fan.

"Call me crazy but I think the kangaroo is for sure Jordyn Woods. Am I crazy? #themaskedsinger," followed another.

In conclusion, if The Kangaroo isn't Woods fans will be shook and I'll be out of a few dollars. If it is Woods, the only question remaining will be why it took this long for her to kick off her singing career when she has a voice like that.

For Riverdale fans who have been looking for more Varchie in your lives, you're in luck. The Riverdale Season 4, Episode 13 promo shows things getting hot and heavy between Archie and Veronica. But it's not all good news for Riverdale's golden couple; the promo also hints at rough times ahead for Veronica.

Warning: Spoilers for Riverdale Season 4, Episode 12 follow. When audiences last saw Veronica (Camila Mendes) in the Feb. 5 episode of Riverdale, she experienced a bunch of big changes in her life. She learned Hiram (Mark Consuelos) had just been diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease that will impair his functions greatly. That sad update prompted Veronica to call a small truce with her dad, and even reclaimed the last name Lodge after she dropped it earlier on in the season because of their constant feuding. Veronica also announced her plans to attend Barnard College in New York City. So yeah, there's a whole lot for Veronica to process going into Season 4, Episode 13.

The promo shows a few steamy moments between Veronica and Archie (KJ Apa), before Archie stops and tells Veronica he's worried about her. Veronica tearily responds, "I don't know what to do. I feel completely lost."

Mendes previously hinted at some sad news for the Lodge family in an interview with People magazine. She said, "There’s gonna be some news about somebody in the Lodge family that is going to be very heartbreaking and difficult, and kind of throw Veronica a curveball. There’s gonna be some news coming Veronica’s way that’s going to shake her world." So, fans presumably saw the curveball; now it looks like they're going to see her deal with her world being shaken.

Veronica isn't the only one going through a tough time. In the last episode of Riverdale, Archie dealt with his uncle Frank's (Ryan Robbins) unsavory past. It culminated in a big fight with a deadly mercenary in the bathroom of Riverdale High. And even though Archie survived that, knowing Riverdale, the worst is still yet to come.

Season 4 of Riverdale continues on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
