Rod Rosenstein Discussed The 25th Amendment After Trump Fired Comey, Report Says

$

President Donald Trump might have another threat to his power to worry about. According to reports from The New York Times on Friday, Sept. 21, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein discussed the 25th Amendment following controversial actions by Trump over a year ago. Per the Times, Rosenstein made remarks suggesting invoking the amendment, which provides a path to remove a president from office, after the president fired Former FBI Director James Comey in May 2017. Additionally, the report says Rosenstein had proposed making secret audio recording of the president, presumably to have evidence of conversations. Elite Daily reached out to the White House and Department of Justice for comment on the Times' report but did not receive a response at time of publication.

The report was apparently based on interviews with DOJ officials who had been in meetings and conversations in which Rosenstein had reportedly made such remarks, but the deputy attorney general himself disputes this account. A DOJ spokesperson also apparently told the Times that the remarks were made as a joke.

"The New York Times' story is inaccurate and factually incorrect," Rosentein said in a statement to the Times. "I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda. But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment."

President Trump has long had a difficult relationship with Rosenstein, who oversees Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia due to Attorney General Jeff Sessions' recusal from the probe. As a result of that tumultuous dynamic, there's been frequent speculation about whether Trump, who calls the investigation a "witch hunt," might fire Rosenstein in an attempt to replace him with someone who would in turn fire or impede Mueller.

Comey was the initial head of the probe, but in May 2017, Trump fired Comey using his handling of the investigation into Clinton's emails as a rationale, as explained in a memo written by Rosenstein. Following Comey's ouster, Rosenstein appointed Mueller to take over the probe, and the special counsel was given a more comprehensive and extensive scope to carry it out, pulling on any all threads related to Russian connections with the Trump campaign. In addition, Mueller was tasked with investigating whether Trump's firing of Comey himself was an effort to obstruct justice.

Comey later disclosed that the president had reportedly talked to him about the investigation on more than one occasion, and feeling uneasy about those interactions, documented everything.

Aside from the president and the investigator he ousted, Trump and the deputy attorney general themselves have been in a not-too-secret feud for quite some time. Rosenstein signed off on an April raid to gather evidence from the office of Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal lawyer, for a separate investigation being carried out in the Southern District of New York. There have been rumors as well that Trump has allegedly had Rosenstein in his cross-hairs, and in April White House officials were reportedly preparing for that firing to happen, per news reports. Elite Daily reached out to the White House for comment at the time, but did not hear back. This runs counter to Trump's own statement in August, saying he had a "fantastic" relationship with the deputy attorney general.

The 25th Amendment has also been popping up in the news cycle lately, most notably in the infamous New York Times op-ed by an unnamed White House official that was published anonymously on Sept. 5. The 25th Amendment basically gives senior officials around the president the right to strip him of his power if they determine him to be unfit for the demands of the office.

Invoking the 25th Amendment is easier said than done, however in fact, it was expressly designed to be hard to do so that only in grave circumstances would it be used. Essentially, it takes Vice President Mike Pence plus a majority of the president's cabinet or a cohort of Congress to all sign off on this to get the ball rolling, and from there, it's an arduous process that requires a two-thirds majority of both House and Senate to come to pass.

Some politicians have already mentioned the amendment as a way to quell the tide of Trumpian chaos and mitigate any potentially gravely consequential decisions. (The president's Twitter feed alone has given many a cause for worry.) Whether Rosenstein actually thought it was likely to lead to anything is a huge unknown at this point. One more mystery in the Trump administration.

Instagram's "I Voted" Sticker Will Let You Brag About Your Civic Responsibility

The 2018 midterm elections in the United States are less than two months away, and your favorite photo-sharing app Instagram is ready to help you celebrate. This week, the social media giant rolled out a campaign to help voters get to the polls in November. Instagram's "I Voted" sticker will let users celebrate after they've cast their ballots, and even better encourage others in their feed to do so as well.

"Ahead of National Voter Registration Day, we are helping our community register to vote and get to the polls on November 6th," Instagram said in a statement on Sept. 18. "We're excited to help our community participate in the upcoming election." One way they're doing this is through the "I Voted" virtual stickers that users can take advantage of when posting their obligatory just-voted selfies.

The sticker will appear on the IG camera when users take those selfies, and when clicked, will prompt users who haven't yet done so to Get to the Polls, and a resource will add polling place info based on location. So by using the new IG sticker, not only are users encouraging their community to vote simply by posting about it they'll be helping their fellow voters find info to help them do the same. It's a win-win, right? You look super cool having just fulfilled your civic duty, and you help out your friends (and also democracy). What's not to love?

For any naysayers wondering if sharing a social media sticker actually makes any difference encourage other users to get to the polls: It looks like it does. In fact, Facebook has been experimenting with the digital stickers for several years now, and findings from an experiment around the 2010 midterms found that the "I Voted" sticker model helped influence other voters in people's feeds to get to the polls themselves in fact, about 340,000 more people voted because of this, according to Facebook.

The company has also partnered with TurboVote to boost registration and turnout. As part of the campaign, Instagram's rolling out features to help voters find quick-and-easy info on where and when they can vote and how to register themselves to vote if they haven't already. Per U.S. federal voting age requirements, users 18 and older will automatically see ads appear in their Feed that encourages voting, and prompts you to register to vote with nothing more than a swipe.

Facebook is also rolling out tools to help their users get info on candidates, registration, and polling info to make the process as easy as possible. So if you're into civic engagement and supporting efforts to vote, keep an eye out for using your favorite social media platforms this fall as a great way to promote the vote without having to lift a finger (well, almost.)

And for the go-getter voters out there, you don't have to wait until Nov. 6 to cast your ballot. There are several states that are already seeing the first mail-in ballots trickling in, so if you want to check that item off your to-do list early, you can earn yourself that much-deserved IG sticker sooner rather than later. And the more the merrier! So when it comes to encouraging your fellow Americans to hit the polls with your new IG sticker, remember: Sharing is caring.

The September 2018 Full Moon Will Affect Your Career & Ask For Your Greatest Effort

In life, there are moments in which everything changes. Whether these changes are brought on by internal revelations or outward influence, they catapult you into the next stage of whatever journey you're currently embarking on. In astrology, a cosmic marker of change is always a full moon. Acting as a moment of climatic energy during the monthly lunar cycle, something powerful gathers together to reveal a deeper truth. And yes, if you're wondering if this has anything to do with your overall life, the September 2018 full moon will affect your career. As long as you refuse to quit, these effects will most certainly be positive.

However, the full moon that's slated to rise on September 24, 2018 has a few unique challenges that may make it much harder to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Occurring in aggressive, ambitious, and unstoppable Aries, a cardinal fire sign, this full moon will not only radiate heat and intensity, it will also form stressful aspects to a few of the most terrifying planets in astrology. However, a bit of drama isn't always a bad thing, is it? Sometimes drama is exactly the push that you need in order to make it to the end. Sometimes an emotional shift changes everything for the better.

Several Obstacles May Put Your Goals To The Test

Have you ever wondered why the universe such a harsh teacher? Well, as far as astrology is concerned, the most heavy-handed planet of all would be Saturn. Ruling over karma, discipline, and restriction, Saturn is essentially a strict father who wants you to become the best possible person you can be. However, Saturn does not accomplish this by coddling you. Instead, Saturn works you down to the bone.

Because this full Aries moon will embrace a frustrating t-square with Saturn, your career and your life's journey will most certainly be a central focus of this celestial event. If you haven't been working hard enough, the full moon will force you to realize it. If you've been letting yourself down or disregarding what it takes to achieve your goals, you might just witness the consequences of what you've been doing wrong.

By Overcoming Them, You Will Only Grow Stronger

However, Saturn's complicated connection with the upcoming full moon in Aries doesn't have to be such a bad thing. By revealing everything that you need to work on in your career, you can then take the necessary steps to fix whatever is currently broken. With Saturn currently focusing its energy in fierce, ambitious, and workaholic Capricorn, this planet is in perfect gear to be the mentor you need; the one that tells you to get right back up and put your head in the game.

The fact that this moon will also form a cooperative sextile with Mars, ruler of action, desire, and impulse, you will have more than enough passion to overcome your obstacles and show the universe who's boss. While this full Aries moon will show you the results of decisions you made in the past, it will also help you realize that your past doesn't have to dictate your future.

Keep Your Ambitions In Mind And Don't Give Up

If you're already worrying that this full moon in Aries will cause you to lose hope and give up at the first sign of strife, think again. As though the cosmos most certainly have a plan in mind, the moon will also form a stabilizing trine with Uranus, ruler of dramatic change, revolution and rebellion. At its worst, Uranus can encourage you to make snap decisions without thinking. However, because Uranus will be working so beautifully with the upcoming full moon, you'll be able to make careful, pragmatic changes that slowly but surely amount to greatness in the long run.

Even though the universe may not always be so kind, sometimes its unkindness is exactly what you need. Pay attention to what your intuition is telling you and remember that you are never given too much for you to handle.

I'm all for dressing in traditional Halloween garb you know, throwing on plastic furry ears and drawing whiskers with your eyeliner and BAM! Now you're a cat! I find absolutely nothing wrong with classic costumes and, honestly, I appreciate any effort that someone puts into the spooky holiday. But there's something about the people who go all out on their costumes that makes me want to stand up and applaud. It doesn't even need to be a store bought outfit (in fact, I prefer the opposite) but it does have to have some sort of relevancy to it. Yup, I'm talking about creating DIY pop culture costumes for Halloween 2018, because we as a nation deserve to reflect on all of the notable moments from this past year and be filled with gratitude. The best way to do that? By making a costume that shows off just how ~in the know~ you really are.

So, do everyone a favor and skip the Halloween store this year. Work with what you've got in your closet, and whatever you're missing, just ask a friend or family member (or buy it on the cheap online), and make yourself the most kickass costume that the year 2018 has ever seen. If you need any help completing your look, we've got you covered with some online stores where you can find the ultimate Halloween inspo. We got you, boo!

1. JAY-Z and Beyonc from the "APESH*T" video

Show me someone who isn't obsessed with the Carters' collaborative music video, and I'll show you a liar. Grab your significant other (or a friend) and WERK THIS LOOK, fam.

Longline Boyfriend Blazer, $34.99, Charlotte Russe

Then, throw your hair into a pony and get to crimping, girl. Next, it's time to ice yourself out:

Jane Stone Rhinestone Crystal Choker Collar Necklace & Earring Set, $22.89, Amazon

And for your JAY-Z counterpart:

Men's Chaps Classic-Fit Stretch Sport Coat, $64, Kohl's

Add a gold chain (totally cool if it's fake, because gold ain't cheap), and there ya go. Effortless coolness isn't included though, so you'll have to really channel your favorite musical duo to pull off this ~lewk~. I have faith.

2. Lara Jean from To All The Boys I've Loved Before

Quite possibly the easiest (and most relevant) costume for all you TATBILB fans, IMO. Plus, you'll undoubtedly be kept warm when the sun goes down since you'll be wearing layers, a l Lara Jean Song. Win-win!

Finejo Women's Hoodie Fleece Jacket Duffle Style Toggle Wool Coat Pea Coat, $39.99, Amazon

Under your jacket, just pop a sweater over a button-down shirt, and you're halfway there. Then, wear a short, dark-colored skirt, and add some mustard-colored knee-high socks, like these:

Over-the-Knee Socks, $6.90, Forever 21

Viol! You're basically dating Noah Centineo at this point. Now, just carry some love letters around with you, and you're all set. Bonus points if you also wear your fave scrunchie on your wrist.

3. Ariana Grande's "God Is A Woman" Music Video Outfit

Let's be real: your jaw dropped when you saw Grande's cosmically gorgeous outfit from her music video, "God Is A Woman." What if I told you that you could recreate her look on the cheap? Would it make you believe that God is, in fact, a woman (cough, cough, ME)?

Abigal Criss Cross Bodysuit, $22, Revolve

Who doesn't love a good hot pink bodysuit? And, while Grande has the actual universe around her torso, you can make due with a galaxy printed skirt, like this one:

Galaxy Print Skater Skirt, $24.90, Hot Topic

If you have extensions, wear 'em! If you have thigh-high silver boots, use 'em! And to really get your point across, play Grande's hit song on repeat on your phone.

4. Antoni Porowski from Queer Eye

Now look, I'm all for dressing like any of the Fab 5 members, but I will say that dressing like Antoni will undoubtedly be the easiest. And why is that, you ask?

BECAUSE HE'S ALMOST ALWAYS IN A PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRT, HUNNI!

So if you're short on time (or cash), this costume is going to be literally the easiest thing for you. Can you believe?

Women's Short Sleeve Vintage V-Neck T-Shirt, $4, Target

Guys, you're basically halfway done with your costume! And if you don't feel like going out and buying a t-shirt for yourself, literally ask any dude to borrow his. It's a men's wardrobe staple. Then, suit yourself up in a bib apron, a chef's go-to work uniform:

Chef Works Portland Bib Apron, $29.99, Amazon

Do you have to spend 30 bucks on an apron? Of course not. But at least consider investing in one that you can actually use in your own kitchen IRL. Just a thought!

From here, let your imagination run wild. Do you want to walk around with some guacamole, AKA Antoni's fave? Do you want to carry around a box of tissues, just in case you feel ~emotional~ throughout the night? Totally up to you, my friend. Let your inner Antoni shine.

5. Lady Gaga's A Star Is Born Premiere Outfit

I have some bad news: you won't be able to exactly replicate Lady Gaga's beyond-iconic pink Valentino Haute Couture gown that she wore to her movie's premiere at the Venice Film Festival. It was layers upon layers of feathery goodness that is beyond comparison, but guess what? You can generate that same sense of Gaga fabulousness.

Pink All Over Feather Mini Skirt, $67, MissGuided

There are definitely some other cheaper options out there on sites like Amazon and eBay, but I'd low-key wear this skirt over and over again, so don't tell me you wouldn't want this in your closet either. Then, grab a pink tank top or pink bodysuit and add a feather cape, like this one:

ZAKI L'vow Fashion Feather Cape Stole, $23.99, Amazon

And, if you want to be TOTALLY extra (which, in this instance, you absolutely do), then get yourself a red carpet to walk down:

Hollywood Red Carpet Runner, $7.99, Party City

Can you even imagine rolling up to a friend's party and staging a red carpet debut? That situation is literally what dreams are made of.

Alright you guys, I'm trusting you to do your very best this Halloween. And at the end of the day, if you just feel like dressing up in last year's costume, I promise not to judge you too hard Game of Thrones is still relevant.

Here's How To Get A Mail-In Ballot, So You Can Get Your Vote On Early

$

0

Nov. 6 is less than two months away, and people are already voting in the 2018 midterms. The first early voting is live for multiple states around the country, and while many voters will wait for Election Tuesday to cast a ballot, some voters are using mail, early, and absentee voting rules in their states to fulfill their civic duty early. These ballots, as an alternative to showing up in person on election day, have seen a massive surge in recents years, and it's not hard to see why.

As of Sept. 21, absentee and early ballots are being cast in states like Minnesota, Virginia, and South Dakota, with more states to follow. If this news is inspiring you to get ahead of the game, there are a few things to know. First there are three types of alternative voting: absentee, early voting, and mail-in, and some distinctions therein. The rules for what kind of voting you can do differs by state. Some states are stricter than others on how you can register for these alternative methods; for example, some require excuses or valid reasons for why you can't show up in person on election day (you can check what your state requires here). But there are other states, like Washington and Colorado, that hold their elections entirely by mail. If you qualify, you can get a mail-in ballot easily. Just check out USA.gov's page on absentee voting, and then follow the links to find your state's election board and check out the rules.

So if you're looking ahead to voting day (and thanks to Instagram's new push to get out the vote, you'll probably see about this plenty), here's what to know. Each state has a different set of timelines for when mail-in ballots can begin being processed and what the deadline is for receiving them. Here's a calendar showing when you have to return your ballot by for it to be counted. (If you're more of a visual person, check out this nifty map that provides a clear table of the rules for your state, deadlines, and more.)

This alternative voting isn't for everyone (literally, not allowed), but depending on your situation, it might be an attractive (and viable) option. Maybe you're away on a trip, or you've got school, work, or no access to reliable transportation. Maybe you're a single parent and getting to the polls means hiring a babysitter. (Or, let's be honest, the notion of voting from the comfort of your own home rather than fight long lines at the polls on election day doesn't sound like a bad idea.)

Whatever your personal reason, the options are becoming more popular among voters. According to data from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) as of October 2017, in 2016, more than 50 percent of votes in 16 states were cast by a combination of early, by-mail, and via absentee ballots. The use of these methods more than doubled between 2004 and 2016, and now comprise one in five ballots. According to The Hill, some 40 percent of voters are expected to take advantage of the alternative methods this year. (You can learn more about registering for an absentee ballot here.)

Though initially geared towards voters who were physically unable to be present to cast a vote in person (for example, out of the country on military service), the rise in absentee voting is especially crucial relevant given how low voter turnout rates are in the U.S., which still lags behind its international peers. (Less than 66 percent of the voting-age population cast ballots in the 2016 election, according to the Pew Research Center, and historically, only about 40 percent participate in midterm elections.)

Whether you're studying abroad or just plain smart and would rather spend Election Tuesday doing other things, be sure to check what your state's timeline is for casting your ballot early so you don't miss out.

Kylie Cosmetics’ Kylie x Jordyn Collection Is Here & TBH, It'll Be Your New BFF

Another day, another drop from Kylie Cosmetics that I take my credit card out for so fast, I give myself whiplash. After much anticipation, makeup mogul Kylie Jenner finally announced an official beauty collaboration with her BFF Jordyn Woods for her eponymous cosmetics line. And now, the long-awaited Kylie x Jordyn Collection for Kylie Cosmetics is officially here. Cue the screams of beauty and Kardashian-Jenner lovers (read: mostly me) everywhere.

The Kylie x Jordyn Collection ($124 for the bundle, Kylie Cosmetics) features an eye palette, a face palette, and three adorable lip products, all of which will totally perfect your (and your BFF's) beat. Look, I'm not saying that this is one of the cutest collections Kylie Cosmetics has ever offered, but if you silence everything in your life and listen very, very closely, you'll probably hear me whispering, "This is one of the cutest collections Kylie Cosmetics has ever offered," in the distance.

The 12-pan eyeshadow palette ($45, Kylie Cosmetics) boasts an even mix of shimmers and mattes, as well as softer brown and nude tones and brighter hues, like purples and greens. And with shade names like "Love You B*tch," "Ride Or Die," and "Don't Ever Leave Me," I'd say this palette is, like, the ultimate profession of love to your BFF. (Or, you know, what I tell anyone who gives me the slightest bit of attention, just saying.)

The highlighter palette ($40, Kylie Cosmetics) includes four super reflective shades with lighter gold, champagne, darker gold, and lavender finishes. Fittingly named "No New Friends," "Inseparable," "Best Life," and "Together Forever," I can't tell if these describe my relationship with my BFF or my relationship with this collection. TBD.

OK, so, you didn't think Kylie and Jordyn would leave your lips untouched, did you? Their collection also features two new glosses ($16 each, Kylie Cosmetics), named "23" (a sheer, gold shimmer gloss) and "Partner In Crime" (a pinky nude gloss) to keep your lips brighter than any star in the sky. And finally, rounding out the whole collection is a warm-toned, reddish pink matte lipstick ($17, Kylie Cosmetics) in the shade "WOODS," which I already know will be my new fave everyday lip.

I'd be lying if I said half my obsession with this collection didn't lie in the packaging alone. The overall packaging showcases adorable cartoon drawings of Kylie and Jordyn themselves looking very similar to the cool-girl Bratz dolls I always wanted.

Now, like all of Kylie's themed collections, I anticipate this set will sell out pretty damn fast. (Curse the teens and their thumbs that move even faster than I, someone who literally works on the internet, can handle.) For now, the collection is available for purchase on KylieCosmetics.com only. However, Kylie recently announced that Kylie Cosmetics would be making its way into Ulta Beauty stores sometime around the holidays. That said, let's hope she brings this and all her other previously-sold-out collections to Ulta along with all her other products, so we can all see, swatch, and buy IRL.

35 Of The Coolest Things You'll See This Week That Are Actually Products For Sale On Amazon

I'm pretty good at shopping. I have a knack for hunting down the perfect cardigan in any thrift store the kind you spend $6 on and end up wearing for years. That being said, I have friends who are really good at shopping. I go over to their houses and they have the coolest products that have me asking, "Where did you find this?!" I always expect them to respond with the name of some specialty shop I've never heard of, but oftentimes the answer is: "I found it on Amazon." Yep the coolest products on Amazon have me believing that they're from some off-the-beaten-path store that I've never stepped foot in.

So I'm always very stoked to hear that's not the case. It reminds me there are other great products on Amazon just waiting to be discovered. And all of the following products? They're very worthy of discovery.

Here's a sneak peek of some of my favorites: a machine that makes soft serve out of fresh fruit. an eyebrow gel with fibers that actually recreate the look of natural eyebrows, and a shelf that hooks onto the side of your bed so that your morning coffee is within easy reach.

Kylie Jenner's New Pink Hair Makes Her Look Like The Ultimate Barbie Girl

On Thursday night, the youngest Jenner sister took to Instagram to post an image that intended to show off her new Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Triple White sneakers, but if you ask me, the kicks were really overshadowed by the fact that she's changed her hair color again. In my opinion, Kylie Jenner's new pink hair was really the star of her Adidas Ambassador post, because, well, how could it not be?

No, I'm not surprised that Jenner has pink hair. I mean, let's be real, we've seen the 21-year-old rock just about every hair color under the sun, from bleach blonde to rose gold to her natural brown. Rather, it's the fact that she was so subtle about debuting the new hair color. Old Kylie would've given us a play-by-play of the hair color transformation via her Snapchat. Then again, this is the same person who hid a whole nine month pregnancy from her 115 million social media followers. So I guess you could say times have changed.

Though Kylie didn't say anything about her own hair transformation, celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, one of the Kardashian-Jenners' glam squad OGs, did post a teaser image on Thursday evening of two bowls of pink hair color alongside a bottle of Olaplex, Color Wow, and two Lime Crime dye bottles, all with the caption "Guess who? Always have my @olaplex on hand during the color process "

According to a press release, to arrive at Jenner's new pink hue, Appleton used two colors from Lime Crime and followed a simple three-step process. To color her hair, I mixed Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Tint in Kawaii ($16, limecrime.com) and Bunny ($16, limecrime.com) and then muted the color using Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Mixer in Dilute ($16, limecrime.com)," says Appleton.

To execute the look, according to Appleton, you should first divide the hair into four even sections and apply the color mixture from roots to ends on small sections of hair (about 1 inch wide). You should apply the color first with an applicator brush and then massage it into the section with your hands. After 45 minutes, Appleton advises you to rinse without shampooing and then to only condition the hair if you choose to. He also notes that tints such as Lime Crime's work best on hair that is already blonde, which explains why Jenner's hair looks so good (and why the process was so simple).

Appleton says he used Olaplex, which is essentially a universal hairstylist-fave product for its protective capabilities during color processes. To maintain the color and reinforce the bonds of the hair (again, super important after a process like this), Appleton used Color Wow's Kale Cocktail ($24, colorwowhair.com) and topped off the transformation with Color Wow's Dream Coat ($28, colorwowhair.com) "to give it a perfect glossy finish."

After all is said and done, my question is: Was Kylie just in the mood for pink hair? Was it done in honor of the long-awaited launch of the Kylie Cosmetics x Jordyn Woods makeup collab? Or is she trying to divert people's attention away from her cereal and milk tweets people are apparently going off on? Well, regardless, I'm a big fan of the new pink 'do, and I can't wait to see which color Stormi's mom moves on to next. Because honestly, the way Kylie colors her hair so often without damaging it truly amazes me.

What Skipping Coffee Says About Your Personality Shows How Different You Are From PSL Lovers

$

Im convinced coffee lovers dont just drink coffee; they inhale the stuff to keep the caffeine coursing through their veins. When I was in college, a friend of mine would snag a cup in between almost every class, and I was always wowed by her stomachs ability to handle all that acidity. But drinking coffee isnt just a means to an end. For some people, its a lifestyle, a vital part of their overall persona, and if thats the case, what does skipping coffee say about your personality? Personally, Ive always been more of a tea drinker myself (a direct reflection of my Irish upbringing, no doubt), and to this day, Ill almost always choose an herbal brew over a cup of coffee. I get my fix when I need it, but Im never jittery if I go without, so does being a non-coffee drinker really make me that different from those who can down a Dunkaccino after just having sipped a Starbucks venti? My curious mind needs to know.

Personally, I had to train myself to enjoy the taste of black coffee. It used to be that, if I even drank the stuff at all, Id keep adding creamer until the brew became a milky brown color, and then I'd spoon in two clumps of sugar to combat the bitterness. It was my husband who actually suggested nixing the additives, because the combination of caffeine and dairy turned out to be a total disaster for my stomach. But even though I dont mind drinking coffee plain nowadays, I still dont understand the dire need to chug a cup the second my energy levels plummet.

According to Dr. Sanam Hafeez PsyD., a neuropsychologist and teaching faculty member at Columbia University, an appreciation for coffee could stem from your upbringing if your parents or older siblings fancied a cup first thing in the morning. Maybe you watched your parents refilling their mug at the kitchen table, or smelled the brewing pot from your bedroom, or it could be that drinking coffee was a cultural tradition in your family or a crutch to lean on in college when youd pull an all-nighter, Hafeez tells Elite Daily over email. A lot of it is learned and then habitual, she says.

So do coffee drinkers condition themselves to need coffee, or do they just really like how their order tastes? Hafeez says it could be one or the other, or a combination of both. If someone starts drinking coffee on a daily basis, she explains, their brain essentially gets rewired to think that they need the caffeine, and therefore, they start depending on it. This is why we see people who need that morning coffee, needing another in the afternoon, Hafeez says. Coffee provides them with the stimulation that jolts them from fatigue into action and alertness, she explains, and if they go without, she adds, they could have trouble concentrating and staying on-task.

According to Hafeez, you might be skipping the coffee line at Starbucks every morning, but maybe thats because you prefer using something like green juice, tea, or chocolate milk as an energy source, instead. Or, maybe you really do just feel more energetic without it. It can really go either way. "Mindset and our ability to regenerate pathways in our brains has a lot to do with our physical health," Hafeez points out, meaning there's a very real mind-body connection when it comes to your energy levels. Someone who tells themselves that they need caffeine to function convinces their body that it's true. But, if you've conditioned yourself to no longer need coffee and choose to get their energy elsewhere, it could be that you have a strong willpower, and were able to shift your beliefs and behaviors and adopt a new belief and pattern.

And while coffee drinkers might be a special breed of human, if you dont drink coffee, and maybe even *gasp* prefer tea, youre a special gem in your own right, too. In fact, Robert Glatter, M.D., an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, Northwell Health, tells Elite Daily that tea drinkers often display a calmer or zen approach to life. And, look, I may be a tea person, but Im definitely not the best example of this coffee or not, Im naturally strung out AF. Still, I can definitely see where this logic comes from. Coffee gets you wired, but sipping a warm mug of tea can simmer down a stressful mind real quick. It has to be the herbs, right?

Plus, theres a lot of debate around whether or not coffee is actually healthy for you. So if youre one of those people who politely declines a cup, it just goes to show youre probably pretty health-conscious, and thats admirable in and of itself. According to the Chinese tea and food blog, Hello Tea Cup, non-coffee drinkers may have more discipline and control over their lives and are more health conscious than coffee people for a plethora of reasons, but especially because coffee contributes to stanky breath, plus it has addictive properties that keep you coming back for refill after refill, to the point where youre drinking coffee late in the day, compromising your sleep, and really, its just a vicious cycle. But youre above that, so go you!

All joking aside, though, it doesnt matter if youre a coffee drinker, a tea drinker, or neither. At the end of the day, one person isnt better than the other. In fact, no one really cares what youre drinking. All that matters is youre staying hydrated.

JoJo Fletcher & Jordan Rodgers' Body Language Reveals Their Love Is Built To Last

Anyone who watched season 12 of The Bachelorette knew pretty much from the start that there was really only one person for JoJo Fletcher, and that was Jordan Rodgers. Their chemistry was instantaneous and intense, and from the looks of it, they're still rock solid two years later. However, they haven't set a wedding date yet, so perhaps taking a closer look at JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers' body language can help us gather whether or not they're really heading for that fairytale ending we're all rooting for.

I reached out to body language expert Blanca Cobb for her take on Fletcher and Rodgers' body language over time. For instance, does she see a couple that's growing apart, or has the time they've spent together made them a solid couple? Are we safe to continue shipping them, or are we headed for inevitable disappointment and heartbreak? (Do I care about this too much? Do I need a Bachelor intervention? Moving on.) What I'm saying is that the stakes here are high, folks! So, to help answer these questions and more, Cobb took a look at images (and their proposal video!) of them from the past two years. Here's what she sees.

,

They feel safe and secure being affectionate with one another.

ABC on YouTube

What is readily apparent to anyone who watches this video is that these are two people who have really fallen in love. But Cobb picks up on some of the subtle body language cues that confirm what they are saying (a lot) that they are in, indeed, in love. She points at the way Rodgers rubs Fletchers hands as he talks to her, telling Elite Daily, his thumbs are rubbing across the tops of her hands as both a soothing gesture and a show of affection. When youre nervous, your body finds a way to release the excess energy by engaging in self-soothing behaviors. It feels good and it has a calming effect. Not only is he expressing his feelings for Fletcher with this touch, but it shows that it also makes him feel safe and secure to do so. Fortunately for Rodgers, Cobb notes that Fletcher reciprocates, saying JoJo relishes the affection and she cant keep her hands off of Jordan.

Sept 2016: They want to be as close as possible.

In September, a month after the finale aired, Cobb sees that their connection is still going strong. As evidence, she points to the way Jordan leans toward the woman whos captured his heart. The sides of their bodies are pressed closely together. Cobb explains that couples who are crazy about each other tend to get as close as possible. Its a way to maintain an emotional connection.

March 2017: They are territorial about one another.

This photo, posted roughly six months later, shows a real comfort level between Fletcher and Rodgers but no less passion. Look at Jordans hand resting on the side of JoJos tush, says Cobb. Its a territorial sign telling the world that his lady belongs to him. For her part, Cobb notes Fletcher reciprocates with some territorial body language of her own, noting that JoJo is keeping her man close with her arm around his shoulders. The way her legs are crossed with the outside leg crossing over the inside leg signals that she's not letting anything come in between her and Jordan.

July 2017: They still cant get enough of each other.

That summer, the couple continued to show off a unified front, looking really happy and connected. Cobb confirms that this is a couple still very much in love, saying Jordan cant get enough of JoJo. Hes leaning over toward her with his arms wrapped around her. Again, Fletcher returns the gesture. JoJos grasp on his arm sends the message that shes anchoring herself in his affection, explains Cobb.

June 2018: They have forged a deep emotional connection.

The most marked change in the couple's body language is in this image taken almost a year later. However, what Cobb sees actually bodes really well for this couple. She sees a duo that, over the course of time, have formed something deeper. Cobb says JoJo and Jordans bodies say that theyre emotionally connected. Look at the way the sides of their bodies are seamed together. Cobb specifically keys in on Rodgers' body language here, saying "with his thumb hanging on the outside of his jean's pocket, Jordan is feeling pretty confident. This level of ease and confidence is the kind that comes with time and growing comfort in the relationship.

Whats Cobbs overall assessment for this couples relationship? She keeps it short and oh-so-sweet, saying simply based on these photos, JoJo and Jordan are still going strong. So... I guess I can expect my wedding invite any day now, right?

Here's How To Find Out If You're Registered To Vote In The 2018 Midterms, Because It's So Easy

$
0
0

It's really important that everyone heads to the polls and votes in November, but in order to do that you need to be registered. Whether you moved recently and can't remember if you registered with your new digs, or if you just plain forgot, here's how to find out if you're registered to vote. It's the easiest thing you'll do all day, trust me.

I often forget what I had for breakfast that morning, so you better believe that it's sometimes hard to remember some other things like am I registered to vote? Thankfully, checking your voter registration status is super simple. All you need to do is head to Vote.org (which says the process only takes 30 seconds) and click the box that says "check registration status." From there you'll be prompted to fill in some simple information like your name, address, phone number, and date of birth. I know what you're thinking, but it really is that simple. Bonus: with autofill settings it'll take you even less time.

If your voter registration status is active, then you might need to also find your polling place, and guess what? That's also really easy. If you're still on the page, just click "polling place locator" from the dropdown menu. From there all you need to do is type in your address and it'll tell you where to go on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Don't worry if it turns out you're not registered, though, depending on what state you live in, you can take care of that online too. Just click "register to vote" from the Vote.org menu and choose your state. The site will tell you whether your state allows online registration. If you live in New York, let's say, then you can just fill out the registration form online and submit. If you live in a place like Texas, though, that doesn't offer online registration, then all you have to do is print out your registration form and mail it in. I know you probably haven't used a mailbox for anything other than sending back 10 out of the 20 mini sunnies you ordered, but make an exception because registering to vote is super important.

The deadline to register in your state might be coming up and you don't want to accidentally miss it and be locked out of voting in the upcoming midterm election on Nov. 6. If you're still curious about the registration deadline in your state (procrastinators I'm looking at you) then just click "voter registration deadlines" from the menu. The site will give you a list of the deadlines. For some states, like Colorado or Connecticut, the deadlines are a little more lenient and you can register closer to the election. In some states like Colorado, you can even register on the day of an election (but only in person). But states like Arizona and Arkansas set their deadlines about a month before election day. So make sure you know the cutoff where you live.

And what if you know you're registered to vote, but when you show up at your polling place they tell you you're not on the list? Well, if worst comes to worst, some states allow you to vote via an affidavit or conditional ballot basically, you promise you are who you say you are, and you're supposed to be able to vote, and they let you fill out a ballot and double-check that you're eligible afterwards. Check out what your state's rules are in advance, so you're well informed.

Truthfully, you can register in the amount of time it takes you to check your deadline, so why not just do that? It'll be a truly remarkable #adulting moment.

This Video Of Prince Harry Sneaking Food At Meghan Markle's Cookbook Event Is So Relatable

For a while there, it looked like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were putting their pre-wedding PDA (not forbidden, but frowned upon by the royal crowd) and all-around candid moments behind them as they tried to conform to royal protocol after their May nuptials. But now that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are a couple months into their new roles, they're relaxing a bit on the whole royal etiquette thing and just being their totally relatable selves again. Case in point: This video of Prince Harry sneaking food at Meghan Markle's cookbook event is circling the internet, and it's making everyone say, "Same." Because who wouldn't want to stash away a samosa or two if given the chance?

On Thursday, Sept. 20, Prince Harry played proud husband as Markle celebrated the launch of her charity cookbook benefitting victims of London's tragic Grenfell fire while mobilizing women and girls through the Hubb Community Kitchen project. The Together: Our Community Cookbook is in line with the work the Duchess has done to empower women before she became a royal, and it was exciting to see her helm one of her first solo charity projects just a few months in. As the pair rubbed shoulders and mingled with their party guests at Kensington Palace, the cameras caught Prince Harry in a not completely royal but totally relatable situation.

Being around plates of steaming food and talking about food (it was a cookbook launch, after all), Prince Harry couldn't resist the munchies and apparently decided to snag a few samosas and hide them behind his back.

Per ET Online, ITV reporter Chris Ship documented the moment, which shows the royal walking with his hands behind him and a decidedly guilty look on his face. A closer look revealed that the mischievous royal had been caught red-handed with his hands in the (samosa) jar, and his "nothing to see here" expression is peak Prince Harry. TBH, it's hilarious, and I can't stop re-watching it.

#SamosaGate2018 wasn't the only moment that fans can't stop obsessing over. The internet totally lost it when Ship took to Twitter to share a simple but totally heartwarming ~ interaction ~ between the two lovebirds: Prince Harry oh-so-casually tucking his wife's hair back from the wind and the two beaming at each other like the newlyweds that they are. If we needed any proof that the pair are still very much in honeymoon mode, the former Suits actress's face, totally lit up by love and happiness says it all.

I'll admit that there was a time there where I thought Prince Harry and Markle would go the way of Prince William and Kate Middleton and cease all outwardly romantic expressions of love in public. Who can forget that cringy moment when Prince Harry totally rejected Meghan's attempts to hold his hand at the Young Leaders Reception? Luckily, it looks like they've put those days behind them, and have fed into royal mania by locking lips in a seriously steamy makeout at the 2018 Sentebale Polo and blessing us with their loved-up body language. Now, Prince Harry attempting to sneak food is just one more reason I love the totally relatable couple.

6 Celebrities Who Called Out Their Exes On Social Media

Love is complicated, guys. Sometimes, it's like you're minding your own business, being famous and dating another celebrity, when the next thing you know you're typing out angry tweets in all caps for the whole world to see. Sh*t happens, ya know? When you're a famous person, dating is complicated in special and unique ways. To begin with, you have different pressures on you as a public figure. Secondly, you probably have a lot more followers than the average person. This means, if you use social media to troll your ex, the world is going to see it. Such is the case with these celebrities who called out their exes on social media after breaking up.

I imagine that whatever leads a celebrity to post something scathing about their ex has to be really, REALLY bad. Otherwise, you would think the prying press and the public's eyes following their every move (especially their breakups and makeups) would encourage a person to NOT do anything stupid. However, even as you're reading this, I bet you're calling to mind some of your favorite celebrity-ex social media feuds. Actually, they're probably on this list.

Here are six of the biggest celebrity breakups in social media history.

1. Rob Kardashian & Blac Chyna

These two aren't the first famous couple to publicly fight on social media, but they are the reigning King and Queen in my heart. Things between the youngest Kardashian sibling and his ex-fiance got so, SO bad, Kardashian ended up sharing nude photos of Chyna on his own personal Instagram account. This resulted in her ordering a restraining order against him.

Both parties had some choice words to say to one another throughout their tumultuous relationship. This included things like Kardashian documenting Chyna seemingly leaving their home with their child, Dream, before Christmas and Chyna reportedly taunting Kardashian by sending a video of herself kissing another man.

They used things like money-shaming against each other and seemed totally disconnected from the rest of the world and their fan base (even they were horrified by how far Chyna and Kardashian had taken things).

According to E! News, as of August 2018, Chyna and Kardashian have settled into a "peaceful" co-parenting situation and have equal custody of their daughter.

2. Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber

What's a good listicle about exes without any mention of Jelena? The famous on-again, off-again couple is officially off now that Bieber is engaged to Hailey Baldwin, but that doesn't mean his history isn't fraught with old relationship drama.

In 2016, during one particularly bad "off" bout with Gomez, Bieber began dating Sofia Richie. He was happy to post pictures of Richie on his Instagram account, but found many Jelena fans and trolls were not into his new boo. Unfairly, Bieber and Richie were under attack a lot of the time. In defense, Bieber posted the following message on Instagram:

I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like

In a very strange plot twist, Gomez was actually on the trolls' side. She straight up commented: "If you cant handle the hate, stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lolit should be special between you two only. Dont be mad at your fans. They love you and supported you before anyone ever did."

Like, wut?

Bieber didn't respond to her directly, but he did write, "Its funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love." He later added, "Im not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope you all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes, I love my Beliebers."

Later, Gomez posted a note on her Snapchat saying: "What I said was selfish and pointless."

3. Calvin Harris & Taylor Swift

Man-oh-man. Good ol' Calv and T-Swift.

This relationship sort of seemed like it had sticking power until it, too, went up in 140-character flames. Harris and Swift were together for about 15 months before calling things off. During that time, Harris' track "This Is What You Came For" was topping the music charts. In July 2016, after their breakup, Swift's representatives confirmed rumors she actually co-wrote the song with Harris under a Swedish pseudonym.

He did not really love or appreciate Swift's big reveal.

In a Twitter rant (that has since been deleted) Harris accused Swift of using the songwriting announcement as a means to make him look bad. He also brought up her ongoing feud with frenemy Katy Perry.

Oof. That's a deep cut, Cal.

As part of the rant, he wrote:

I figure if youre happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do... I know youre off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy [Perry] ETC but Im not that guy, sorry. I wont allow it. Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because youve earned a great one.

He later confessed to British GQ the tweets were "completely the wrong instinct," adding, "I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled. It felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped."

4. Jai Brooks & Ariana Grande

From 2012 to 2013, Grande dated Australian musician Jai Brooks until sh*t hit the fan. Brooks accused Grande of cheating on him with Nathan Sykes in a seriously lengthy Twitter message (whom she ended up dating briefly before getting back together with Brooks prior to ending it for good). Both Brooks and Grande went at it on the social media platform after that, with Grande claiming Brooks said if she didn't "go back to him" he'd make her look bad. Hence, the cheating rumor. He responded by sharing a text message he wrote to her gushing all kinds of niceties.

Today, Grande is obviously engaged to comedian Pete Davidson and Jai Brooks is... I don't know... doing something else.

5. Kanye West & Amber Rose

Amber Rose and Kanye West have had a heated relationship ever since their breakup in 2010. In a 2015 interview with The Breakfast Club, West made an infamous comment about how he had to take "30 showers" after dating Rose before he could date Kim Kardashian, who later became his wife. Rose, understandably, didn't love the comment and posted a series of tweets calling West out, signing off with the message, "I'll leave that up to the Kartrashians to humiliate u when they're done with u."

Years later, West got into it with Rose's new boo, Wiz Khalifa, when he knocked West for changing his album title from SWISH to Waves (though he ultimately landed on The Life Of Pablo). Rose got involved again then, too, and posted a rather NSFW tweet regarding her intimate life with West back in the day.

Fans know West has gone on and off of Twitter for multiple reasons since then, deleting many tweets from his previous argument with Rose. Today, the two have seemingly buried the hatchet and Rose was featured in West's "Famous" music video. Plus, her and Kim Kardashian claim to be friends.

6. Noah Cyrus & Lil Xan

This is a more recent social media feud but worth noting nonetheless. Miley Cyrus' little sister Noah Cyrus jumped into a fast and furious relationship with rapper Lil Xan at the end of summer 2018. Just as soon as they released a collaboration hit called "Live or Die," their relationship came to a sudden halt when Xan accused Cyrus of cheating on him.

Xan jumped on Facebook Live to talk about how the music video for "Live or Die" was no longer going to air thanks to their breakup. He explained,

The 'Live or Die' video is not gonna be coming out at this point, because I've been informed, like, you know when you, like, like a girl and sh*t and whatnot? But Ive just been informed that basically it was all fake, and Im being used. So f*ck it. I guess I was just being used. I thought, you know, I was in love, but whatever. Ill take that L. Heartbreak soldier. Thanks, Noah. Hope the song does well, if Columbia puts it out. Love all my fans, though.

Cyrus shared her own tearful videos claiming "things suck," but never mentioned the cheating allegations. Later, she shared a meme that is apparently the smoking gun in this saga. According to Cyrus, she sent Lil Xan a picture of Charlie Puth's head photoshopped on a naked body, which made him believe she was cheating on him.

But, after Cyrus had had enough of all the assumptions fans were making based on Lil Xan's posts, she revealed her belief that Lil Xan was the one who was cheating, writing on her Instagram story:

Cheaters like to accuse their partners of cheating to make themselves feel less guilt. This isn't the first time this has happened to me and now I'm being forced to deal with crazy accusations when I'm not even sure where all this came from.

Mere days after their breakup, Cyrus dropped a new love ballad called "Mad At You" that has fans speculating. Some think her split to Lil Xan was actually PR for the clear breakup song.

No way around it, breakups are messy. Of course, they're going to be particularly messy when you're a celebrity. The lesson here is, famous people, ask someone on your team to take your tech devices from you if you're going through a breakup. I guess, unless you're using it for PR purposes. Then, ya know, do whatever your manager tells you.

Selena Gomez Is Giving Away Her Clothes To Fans On Instagram, So Slide Into Her DMs

If you're a fan of Selena Gomez, you're probably one of a zillion people who are envious of her snatched makeup, her luxuriant hair, and her fabulous wardrobe. The 26-year-old singer often turns heads with her fashion choices from her uber chic accessories to her daring lipstick colors, and now she's giving her fans a chance to do the same. (I stan a selfless queen!) Selena Gomez is giving away her clothes to fans on Instagram, so you'd better hurry up and get over to her page while the items are still available.

Gomez announced the news through an Instagram Story shared to her account on Friday, Sept. 21. Elite Daily reached out to Gomez's team to see if the items were available as of Sept. 22, but did not hear back by the time of publication. In the video, she points out a sparkly, sequined mini dress that features bright green-feathered trimming, showing off the front and the back of the stunning gown.

She then said,

This is my dress that I wore for the 'Back to You' music video, and I kind of want to give it away to someone. So if you want this dress, let me know cause I will just send it along to you cause it has no use being in my closet whatsoever.

Um, EVERYONE wants this dress. Just look at it:

She's also offering up this gorgeous number: a violet romper with sheer cut-outs and dazzling embellishments. And yes, it comes with the adorable matching scrungie pictured below. NEED. THIS. ASAP.

Apparently, Gomez intended on wearing this one out to ice skate, but she said her plans "didn't work out." Miracles happen in mysterious ways...

The offerings are only one of many good deeds Gomez has performed lately. In an upcoming story for Elle magazine, the "Wolves" singer announced that she picked up an unpaid internship with A21, a global antihuman-trafficking nonprofit in Southern California, whose goal is to "abolish slavery everywhere, forever.".

"I wasn't going to immediately start discussing it. It's out of my comfort zone. I needed to be fully immersed in it," Gomez explained to Elle in her October cover story. She said she knows people are thinking, "'What a great thing another celebrity is doing...'" But she explained, "That's not why I want to talk about it. I can't be silent about this."

After a busy few months including her highly-publicized split from The Weeknd, her on again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber (which is now totally off thanks to Bieber's recent engagement to Hailey Baldwin), and various work commitments Gomez turned to more serious fieldwork after having a heart-to-heart with her family. She realized,

I had been working for so long, and I don't like taking things in my life. I just wanted to serve. The idea of human trafficking to me isI'm flabbergasted.

Indeed, some of us are truly flabbergasted, too, because this charitable streak of hers is really impressive. If you didn't already adore Gomez, you can surely add these new updates to the reasons why you should.

This Bride's List Of Wedding Day "Rules" For Guests Is Filled With Outrageous Demands

I understand that weddings can be very stressful. There is a lot planning that goes into getting every little detail just right, and it might cause a bride to act in a manner that's a bit off from her regular behavior. I think it's fair to say that a bride should be able to get away with pretty much anything on her wedding day when it comes to asking others to pitch in. But there's asking for help, and then there's this bride's list of wedding day "rules" for guests that is literally so outrageous it includes a minimum dollar amount for gifts (!!!) that I'm sure the guests regretted sending in that RSVP as soon as they saw the demands.

Again, I think a bride can expect to have people help her out to make the day as special as possible, but this bride was asking for so much more than having the maid of honor steam a dress or perfect a table setting. Don't believe me? Take a look at this Reddit post of wedding day "rules and regulations" that were apparently sent in an email from a wedding planner to the guests ahead of the big day, per Delish. Since being posted on Thursday, Sept. 20, the internet has done its ~thang~ by rightly pointing out how ridiculous most of these demands are.

Oh, and to add insult to injury, correct spelling really takes a hit throughout the list. Here are the typo-filled demands in all their WTF glory:

  1. Please arrive 15-30 minutes early.
  2. Please DO NOT wear white, cream or ivory.
  3. Please do not wear anything other than a basic bob or ponytail.
  4. Please do not fave [sic] a full face of makeup.
  5. Do not record during the seramony [sic].
  6. Do not check in on FB until instructed.
  7. Use #[REDACTED] when posting all pictures.
  8. DO NOT TALK TO THE BRIDE AT ALL.
  9. Everyone will toast with Rmy. No acceptance [sic].
  10. Lastly must come with gift 75$ or more or you want be admited [sic] in.

Got that? keep your "full face of makeup" and updo at home, because this bride will not be having it.

Reddit users immediately began picking out their favorites among the demands. TBH, the first two about arriving early and refraining from wearing any shades of white are pretty reasonable requests. But I think reason goes out the window the further you go down the list.

Reddit user DirtSlab reiterated the most important rule, "And no one can talk to the bride. NO ONE." Others questioned how professional (or real) the "wedding coordinator" is. LastLostDuck made a good point when they said, "I'm calling bull on this wedding planner thing if you can't spell ceremony...." Bored_Ultimatum had a theory about what might have happened, and they explained, "I'm betting the bride herself wrote this and had someone send it out for her."

Honestly, I could simply roll my eyes at most of these. You want a "Rmy" toast? IDK what that exactly means, but you do you. But where you really have to think about telling this bride to slow her roll is when the email provides a minimum dollar amount ($75) for the guests' gifts to the couple. C'mon girl, you have got to remember that you're talking to your family and friends here. Not only is it rude AF to tell someone how much money they should give you in honor of your wedding celebration, but it is also just plain tacky.

This wild list comes not too long after a story about a bride totally freaking out and canceling her wedding because guests wouldn't pay $1,500 dollars each to fund a destination ceremony. Seriously.

In the end, ASomewhatAmbiguous perfectly expressed what most guests probably thought when they got the wedding rules email when they wrote, "What an excellent list of reasons to not go." Excellent, indeed.

This Foreo Luna Fofo Review Will Make You Want To Ditch Your Other Cleansing Devices

$

0

There are a million options out there when it comes to choosing how to cleanse your face every day. I usually wash with a muslin cloth morning and night, but because Im fortunate enough to work as a beauty products lab rat, I feel compelled to share my Foreo Luna Fofo review.

I should start off by mentioning that I dont use cleansing devices very often. I own the Clarisonic Mia Fit Facial Cleansing Brush ($219, clarisonic.com), the Nu Skin ageLOC LumiSpa device ($199, nuskin.com) and the Foreo Luna Mini 2 ($139, foreo.com), and while I like each of them for different reasons, I only ever use them when I feel like my skin is super nasty and needs a deep clean (so, like, about once every two weeks). I have very sensitive (Irish) skin, and my dermis cant handle too much abrasion every day or it completely freaks out.

But thanks to the new Foreo Luna Fofo device ($89, foreo.com), I can actually see (with a legit analysis) how stressed out my skin is. The new Luna Fofo is very similar to the Foreo Luna Mini 2, but with one major addition: Its 24K gold, hypoallergenic sensors can actually read your skins hydration levels. Like bringing that Sephora Moisture Meter into your own bathroom, the Luna Fofo can tell when youve pounded too many tequila shots the night before (i.e. your skins probably low in moisture), and how much that hangover is affecting your appearance (i.e. your skin might look seven years older than you actually are).

The device is pretty simple to use, and pairs up with the Foreo For You app on your phone to show you your results. Once youve downloaded the app, it will ask you to hold down the button on the back of your Luna Fofo for five seconds so they can sync together. Then, the app will ask you to press the sensors to your right cheek, then your left cheek, then your forehead, and finally your nose. The whole process takes about 30 seconds. After each part of your face has been analyzed, the app gives you your results for skin moisture level, skin age, and overall skin score.

I tried this device for about a week, and tested my results as often as I could. (Note that the company suggests you analyze your results once every two weeks.) I noticed that my scores were pretty consistent and that my skin score averaged in the 50s out of 100 each time I tested it out. My skin moisture level fluctuated from high, to normal, to low, and then to normal again, and I noticed that it could decipher when I was using my moisturizer and drinking more water (and less tequila) and when I wasnt. Most of the time, it told me my skin looked my age, but one time, I looked two years older than my actual age, and another time, I apparently looked two years younger.

After each analysis, the Luna Fofo gives you a customized skincare routine, where it tells you for how long you should be applying the device onto specific areas of your face. Additionally, the vibrations and intensity of the Luna Fofo varied each time I analyzed my skin and then washed my face.

I love that Foreo is tapping into AI and implementing it into their devices, and I think the Luna Fofo is a great start. I wish there were more data offered in the app, like how much pollution might be affecting my skin or which skincare products I should be using specifically, but for the relatively low price of $89, I think this cleansing device (with super advanced tech) is a total steal.

Chuck Grassley's Tweets About Christine Blasey Ford & Brett Kavanaugh Are So Confusing

Senate Judiciary chairman Chuck Grassley has given the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault an extension to decide whether or not she wants to go through with testifying in court but his social media rant late on Friday, Sept. 21 seemingly shows he's not happy about it. Chuck Grassley's tweets about Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh are pretty confusing. In a public statement at the time of the initial allegations, Kavanaugh denied the allegations of sexually assaulting Ford in high school, saying, "I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation. I did not do this back in high school or at any time.

After submitting to mounting pressure to allow Christine Blasey Ford who was forced to flee her home amidst rampant death threats, per The Washington Post just one additional day to make her decision, the Iowa Republican took to Twitter to make his feelings known. In the series of tweets, Senator Grassley appears to directly apologize to Kavanaugh for the slight delay, but Grassley's terse language also seems to suggest that he might not care about hearing what Ford has to say at all. Elite Daily reached out to Senator Chuck Grassley's office for further comment on his tweets, but didn't hear back by the time of publication.

On Friday, Grassley agreed to push back his original arbitrary 10:00 p.m. deadline to 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 22, giving Ford just less than an extra 24 hours to decide if she wanted to testify to lawmakers about her allegations that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party when they were attending high school in the 1980s. Kavanaugh denies the allegations "from back in high school or at any time." According to CNN, Grassley's decision came after Ford's lawyers sent a letter to Grassley and called his stringent deadline and attitude "cavalier" with regards to a "sexual assault survivor," They requested an additional day for the professor to decide her next steps.

Grassley did end up granting the request, albeit reluctantly, and then took to Twitter with a late-night rant that has many scratching their heads.

"Five times now we hv granted extension for Dr Ford to decide if she wants to proceed w her desire stated one wk ago that she wants to tell senate her story Dr Ford if u changed ur mind say so so we can move on I want to hear ur testimony. Come to us or we to u," he began. Elite Daily reached out to Senator Grassley's office for comment on whether his statements of wanting to hear Ford's story mean that she will be given the time she requires to make the decision, but did not hear back at the time of publication.

The politician then directly addressed Brett Kavanaugh with a deferential, apologetic tone.

"Judge Kavanaugh I just granted another extension to Dr Ford to decide if she wants to proceed w the statement she made last week to testify to the senate She shld decide so we can move on I want to hear her. I hope u understand. Its not my normal approach to b indecisive," he continued, referencing his decision to push back Kavanaugh's confirmation by a few days.

Unsurprisingly, some Twitter users are using Grassley's language to construe that Grassley really isn't all that interested in hearing Ford's testimony.

Meanwhile, considering the personal nature of the Tweets directly addressing Kavanaugh, others are wondering if he actually meant to share these messages via a public forum like Twitter.

Grassley ended his trio of tweets with an exasperated message that somehow made the situation all about bipartisan politics.

Referencing Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, he concluded, "With all the extensions we give Dr Ford to decide if she still wants to testify to the Senate I feel like Im playing 2nd trombone in the judiciary orchestra and Schumer is the conductor."

Grassley isn't the only conservative stalwart that's been on a Twitter binge in light of Ford's allegations. Much to President Trump's advisors' dismay, President Trump took to the social media platform on Friday morning to herald Kavanaugh as a man with "an impeccable reputation" and to question why Ford didn't report her alleged attempted rape at the time. Elite Daily reached out to the White House for clarification on the tweet and the implication that if the alleged attack were serious it would have been reported at the time, as well as comment on the allegations themselves, but did not immediately hear back.

Considering that statistics say that more than two-thirds of sexual assaults are never reported, per the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), President Trump's insensitive comments have since spurred a #WhyIDidntReport movement that trended on Twitter. Now, only time will tell if Ford does decide to bring her allegations against Kavanaugh to the courtroom.

Rihanna Is Now An Official Ambassador For Barbados, Because She's An Absolute Boss

Your favorite bad gyal just made a serious boss move that's about to take up yet another spot in the history books. If you haven't heard, in addition to being a makeup mogul, philanthropist, fashion designer, and a badass entertainer, Rihanna is now an official ambassador for Barbados. Clearly, the #RihannaReign is forever.

The 30-year-old singer, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, was reportedly named ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary for her home country on Thursday, Sept. 19. Through her role, she'll be promoting education, tourism, and investment, according to TIME.

The Caribbean islands current prime minister, Mia Amor Mottley, said she was honored to appoint Rihanna to the role. Rihanna has a deep love for this country and this is reflected in her philanthropy, especially in the areas of health and education. She also shows her patriotism in the way she gives back to this country and continues to treasure the island as her home," Mottley said in a statement.

"She has also demonstrated, beyond her success as a pop icon, significant creative acumen and shrewdness in business. It is therefore fitting that we engage and empower her to play a more definitive role as we work to transform Barbados," she continued.

Rihanna followed up by saying she "couldn't be more proud" to be given such a title. I couldnt be more proud to take on such a prestigious title in my home country, she explained, per The Independent. Every Barbadian is going to have to play their role in this current effort, and Im ready and excited to take on the responsibility." And we're even more thrilled to see you continue to kill all these efforts, Rih.

The pop star has long been an active figure in the social and political world, so if you ask me, this ambassador gig seems well earned. According to The Guardian, she single-handedly wiped almost $1 billion off the value of Snapchat's parent company, Snap Inc. after she called out its ad campaign back in March that appeared to make light of domestic violence. Though the platform quickly pulled the ad and issued an apology, Rihanna fired out a serious message aimed at it on Instagram, which received widespread praise in the Twitterverse. She wrote: "You spent money to animate something that would intentionally bring shame to DV [domestic violence] victims and made a joke of it!!!... Shame on you."

Rihanna also publicly called for an end to gun violence back in December 2017, following the reported shooting death of her cousin in Barbados. She shared the heartfelt plea in the caption of a sweet Instagram photo of her and her cousin, writing, "#endgunviolence."

Her philanthropic efforts in her homeland even earned her the 2017 Harvard Humanitarian of the Year award. According to Billboard, when accepting the honor that February, Rihanna said she'd had a passion for helping people since she was a young girl watching commercials about how a quarter could help change someone's life. She said:

I would think to myself, 'I wonder how many 25 cents I could save up to save all the kids in Africa.' And I would say to myself, 'When I grow up and I get rich, I'm gonna save kids all over the world.' I just didn't know I would be in a position to do that by the time I was a teenager.

Funny how life works, isn't it? Congrats on everything, Rih! I can't wait to see where you go from here.
