This Man's "Very Stable Genius" Shirt At Donald Trump's Nevada Rally Is Pure Genius

I think many of us can agree that the only thing stopping 2018 from being a complete bust is the hilarity that somehow always finds its way around President Donald Trump. Between his weird comments about the wetness of water or the viral jokes about various tweets of his, I personally thought I was maxed out on laughs. But this guy's "very stable genius" shirt at Donald Trump's Nevada rally has proved me wrong, and you've gotta see it.

According to Newsweek, the moment happened on Thursday, Sept. 20 during a campaign rally in Las Vegas, Nevada. While most eyes were on Trump, others wandered to an unidentified man behind him, who was sporting a gray very stable genius T-shirt. CNBC White House reporter Christina Wilkie tweeted out an image of the man Thursday evening, noting that it was unclear whether the man was wearing the shirt ironically. Newsweek, however, noted that the man didn't appear to be trolling the president by wearing the tee, as he was reportedly applauding and waving a Make America Great Again sign throughout the event but it's still hilarious, nonetheless. Take a look for yourself and enjoy a bunch of LOLs:

Take another look:

If you're not aware, Trump has frequently used the phrase to describe himself on various occasions over the past year, which makes this moment so, so epic. He first used the term back in January, in defense against Michael Wolff's Fire and Fury: Inside The Trump White House, a book that made claims against his sanity.

Now that Russian collusion, after one year of intense study, has proven to be a total hoax on the American public, the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence, Trump wrote on Twitter.

He continued:

Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star... to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius... and a very stable genius at that!

The posts immediately opened up the floodgates on Twitter, and the responses were pretty epic.

"A collective feeling of wtf rolls across America."

Despite the backlash, he used the term again during a press conference after the NATO summit in Brussels just six months later, in July, when a reporter asked whether he would tweet out his comments after meeting with international leaders. No, thats other people that do that, Trump said. I dont. Im very consistent.

Im a very stable genius, the president added.

I'll let Trump have that. (Not that he was gonna stop anyway.) But I think I speak for a lot of folks when I say that this new guy is the ultimate "genius" here.

What Being Too Tired For Sex Really Means For You & Your Partner, According To Experts

$

0

As great as sex is (and let's just get that out of the way, first and foremost: Sex is great), there can be times when you're just not feeling it. Do you know what I'm talking about? Sometimes, no matter how much you want to have sex, you're just too tired, or bloated, or sick to get it on. If this happens from time-to-time, there's no need to fret. We're all just human after all. But if you're constantly finding yourself turning down sex, then you might want to know what being too tired for sex really means especially what it means for you and your partner. Now, to clarify, it's completely OK if you're just plain exhausted and not in the mood for sex sometimes. But there might be a deeper issue if it happens repeatedly, and it should probably be addressed.

"It's not so much that being too tired itself is a problem," sex and intimacy coach Irene Fehr tells Elite Daily, "it is what is going on underneath that will tell a couple if they have an issue brewing." For example, Fehr says that being "too tired for sex can also be a way to avoid intimacy." The thing is, being too tired for sex in and of itself is totally fine even Fehr says so. It's when you start using being too tired as an excuse that it becomes an issue.

"Is being tired becoming a pattern? It is an excuse?" sex expert Lola Jean tells Elite Daily "You cant blame lack of energy for sex on a failing relationship, there are likely other conflicts and items at bay. Like any conflict, approach the situation honestly and without judgement or defense if its a matter you want to talk through and understand." It's important to remember that sex is intimate, and talking about it is crucial in any relationship, even though it can be scary sometimes.

Next, evaluate what they might mean when they're using being too tired as an excuse not to have sex. "It could mean that they don't enjoy the sex they're having but can't or won't verbalize it to their partner," Fehr says. "It could be that sex hurts but they are ashamed to say it. It could be that the couple has some un-repaired or unresolved hurts, and it's a way to avoid facing intimacy while you feel distant from your partner." Basically, if it's just an excuse, then they (or you) could be hiding any number of feelings. Sadly, lying about being too tired "can be a way to punish your partner by withholding sex," adds Fehr.

"As much as sex is a relaxing and energizing activity, it also requires energy, attention and presence," explains Fehr. So, if true exhaustion is the only issue with you and your partner, then don't stress about it. "People who work long hours, have intense jobs that either require a lot of physical energy or attention or interacting with people and/or children, struggle with illness, or have internal stress that's taking up their energy (e.g., financial or relationship stress) may not have the energy they need to have sex," says Fehr.

Before you worry that there's something wrong with your sex life, evaluate the nature of your lives. If one or both of you is super stressed or overworked, then that's probably all it is. Personally speaking, my fianc is a fireman who works 24 hour shifts, so I try not to take it personally when he isn't in the mood after work. It's hard, but it is in no way an indicator of how much your partner loves or cares about you.

On the other hand, if you know that "I'm tired" is just an excuse, then it's time to talk it out. "Have a conversation with your partner from a calm, compassionate and curious place not blaming or accusatory," Fehr advises. "Be curious about them: ask them about their experience, what's it like for them, what they might want or need from you to have sex. Try to understand them. Then tell them how you feel being in your position, what it feels like to be rejected, and what you want and need. Be understanding and also stand in your own truth."

If you don't communicate about the lack of sex or the constant "I'm tired" excuse, then things could come to a head. "If a couple notices a pattern, and it is left unaddressed, then this can mean that the couple is growing apart," Fehr advises. "When couples avoid speaking about what's going on for them and asking for support or what they need enabling change or shift toward resolution it's likely that there is an unresolved hurt or pain underneath. The more a couple leaves the issue unaddressed, the further apart they grow."

"It is rarely that the reason why sex wanes is because the partners are not interested in each other," Fehr explains. "Sex is a reflection of a couple's connection and intimacy, therefore when it wanes, it is usually because of a break in connection or trust."

Remember: Reflect, try to think of what might be really going on, and talk it out. Bringing it up is the only way to really get to the root of the issue before it becomes even more problematic. Everyone deserves a happy, healthy sex life, and you are no exception.

Who Is Ego Nwodim? 'Saturday Night Live' Just Added The Comic To Its Season 44 Cast

Fresh off its Emmy Awards win for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series and days before preparation for its season premiere begins, Saturday Night Live has added another comedian to its mix. Although the NBC staple usually recruits several new cast members every September, SNL has gone slim with casting this year, hiring only one woman to join as a featured player. Luckily, the newest Saturday night mainstay has plenty of comedic chops, so who is Ego Nwodim?

Announced just over a week before SNL's Season 44 premiere on Sept. 29, Nwodim joins the show after a 2016 stint as a New Face star at Montreal's Just For Laughs festival. Already recognized as a rising star in comedy, she has also performed at the 2016 CBS Diversity Showcase and improv theatre Upright Citizens Brigade, one of many comedy venues where the SNL team often scouts for talent. According to Nwodim's UCB bio, the Baltimore native has also written and performed her own solo show, "Great Black Women...and Then There's Me." She has even spilled about the craft of comedy via appearances on podcasts including Comedy Bang Bang and Spontaneanation. To top it all off, she graduated from college with a degree in biology, so you too can still pursue your comedy dreams after receiving a full education.

Nwodim isn't exactly camera shy either, which is a good sign for a SNL newbie. Her IMDb page lists several guest appearances in CollegeHumor sketches and shows including 2 Broke Girls, Law & Order True Crime, and Disney Channel series K.C. Undercover. Depending on how fresh-faced a new SNL comedian is, suddenly acting onscreen every week can be a difficult adjustment, but it looks like Nwodim will certainly handle the camera well in her first few weeks on TV.

While her social media feeds aren't too active, what you can find on Nwodim's Instagram and Twitter pages is super impressive. While it's evident by her Twitter header photo that she doesn't mind comparisons between her name and Eleven's love for Eggos on Stranger Things, you'll see far more than references to the Upside Down on her accounts. On Instagram, she recently shared odes to Postmates and a photo of herself with writer Roxane Gay and fellow improvisers, while her Twitter feed is full of jokes about love and relationships. The "Weekend Update" segment could always use a visit from a relationship expert, right?

Nwodim joins sophomore cast members Heidi Gardner and Chris Redd as SNL's less-utilized featured players, while Mikey Day, Alex Moffat, and Melissa Villaseor were recently promoted to the repertory cast roster ahead of their third year on the show. Fans can also likely expect honorary cast member Alec Baldwin to make more appearances as President Donald Trump this year. In the upcoming season premiere, the full cast welcomes host Adam Driver and musical guest Kanye West to Studio 8H.

Congratulations, Nwodim! We look forward to all of the laughs.

Season 44 of Saturday Night Live premieres on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

9 Adventurous Things To Do In Reno Tahoe That Make It The Biggest Little Escape For Your Next Girls' Trip

I recently went on a trip to Lake Tahoe and Reno, Nevada, and it was one of the most underrated Instagram havens Ive ever visited. If youre in your 20s just trying to live your #bestlife, Reno Tahoe needs to be on your radar. From the open air and outdoor activities by the lake, to the awe-inspiring art and foodie scene, your Insta game will be lit, to say the least. The most adventurous things to do in Reno Tahoe will make it the biggest little escape for your next girls' trip. (You can thank me later.)

I never envisioned falling for this slice of paradise, saturated in the sweetest shade of Nevada sunshine, but I did. Prior to jetting off into the clouds, the Sierra Nevada mountains popped into my mind, and thoughts of how intense the heat would be in Reno. I also scrolled through endless Instagram photos of bloggers paddle-boarding in Lake Tahoe. What I didn't expect was that a sweater and jeans would have worked wonders in the early hours in Reno. (It was literally 49 degrees in the beginning of September one morning and my espadrille sandals were just not cutting it.) I also didn't expect such a hip bar scene that reminded me of some of my favorite spots in NYC. (My traveling companions and I came to the conclusion that the bars gave off major Brooklyn vibes.)

And as for seeing Lake Tahoe up close and personal, my jaw literally dropped. The pictures don't even come close to doing this place justice. I had never seen water that clear and turquoise before in my entire life. I won't give everything away quite yet, but there were many beautifully unexpected surprises that came my way when I touched down in Reno Tahoe. When I boarded the airplane, I was just a girl in her Lululemons with a whole lot of unexpected adventure ahead of her and that was the best part.

Reno Tahoe ruined me in the most wonderful way possible, and every trip I go on in the future has a lot to live up to. These are just some of the incredible things I experienced in my jam-packed itinerary while visiting this colorful oasis. Warning: You'll be catching a flight (and feels) with your girlfriends after you're done reading.

1This Hot Air Balloon Ride Brought My Wanderlust To New Heights

I realized I hadn't been living life in color until I experienced the Great Reno Balloon Race (GRBR) up close and personal. It's the biggest free hot air balloon festival in the entire world, where locals and travelers alike head to the grounds to claim the perfect patch of desert far before dawn to witness an unreal sight.

This dreamy tradition took my wanderlust up, up, and away to cloud nine and I was lucky enough to score a golden ticket into the sky with one of the pilots (a ride I never imagined taking in a lifetime).

I swooned as I watched 80 massive balloons come to life around me, and then it was our turn to take off. We floated across the Reno sky, and soared high above the mountaintops as the people down below turned into tiny specs.

2The #Views At The Top Of Monkey Rock Were Perfection

Naturally, I had Fat Joe's "All The Way Up" stuck in my head when I hiked from Tunnel Creek Caf *all the way up* to Monkey Rock, via the Flume Trail. (The rock's shape resembles a monkey.)

The hike itself, which is around two miles, went by super fast. I highly suggest wearing a good pair of sneakers or hiking boots for the trek. The majority of the hike is perfect for beginners, but after about 10 minutes, you'll reach a steep incline that's the final stretch up to Monkey Rock. If you're a beginner, you'll likely want to take this part slow. Don't rush it, and pay attention to your footing. Once you reach the top, the #views will be worth all of the hard work, sweat, and happy tears.

It's safe to say, my paradise was found at the top of Monkey Rock. I wanted to set up a sleeping bag and stay forever for endless sunrises and nights spent underneath the starry sky. But alas, a girl can dream.

3Parasailing Over Lake Tahoe Was The *Reel* Deal

Keepin' it reel at the lake, am I right? Parasailing over Tahoe was one of the raddest things I've ever experienced, and I highly recommend doing it at least once in your life.

When the Action Watersports team got the parasail prepped to fly on the back of the boat, I was hooked (quite literally), and surprisingly wasn't nervous at all. I felt like I was peacefully floating on top of the world; it's so serene and quiet up there, and a harsh wind isn't trying to steal the spotlight. The turquoise waters glistened ever-so-perfectly in the sunshine, and of course, my friend took her iPhone along for the ride for some solid #content. (Hey Captain, I'm ready for another spin!)

If you want to experience some unparalleled thrills, it costs $100 per person to go up in the parasail, or $30 to chill and watch on the boat. The crew leaves every hour, and the boat ride lasts an hour. (The parasail flight itself lasts for seven to 14 minutes in the air, depending on how many people are on the boat to parasail.) Keep in mind that July is their busiest time!

4Brunch At Chez Louie Seduced My Palate And I'll Never Be The Same

Bon apptit. This sweet spot at the base of the Nevada Museum of Art had my brunch senses tingling. When you find yourself in Reno, I cannot stress enough how much you need a little Chez Louie in your life (and in your tummy).

This French-inspired eatery gave my favorite brunch spot back home a run for its money. Chez Louie has Sunday music brunch where the "crme brle French toas" is topped with vanilla bean whipped cream and apple-wood smoked bacon, and the mimosas (and Bloodys) are aplenty.

5This Private Beach Rivaled The Clear Waters In Mexico

Calling all beach babes. This serene stretch of beach decorated with plush cabanas, colorful boats, and quaint docks spoke to my soul. It looked like it popped straight out of a postcard or one of my favorite dreams.

I basked in the Tahoe sunshine after grabbing a bite to eat at the Hyatt's Lone Eagle Grille, and found myself in the most satisfied state ever. (Maybe that sounds a tad on the dramatic side, but it's true, nonetheless.)

If you're a foodie like me, I suggest kicking off your afternoon with some ahi tuna poke and an Aperol spritz for a highly successful lunch. Next on the to-do list, your girl crew can't go wrong renting a cabana at the Hyatt's private beach. (The rental fee, exclusively for hotel guests, is $400 Monday through Thursday, and $450 Friday through Sunday during the 2018 season.)

Stick around and take a dip in the bluest, clearest water you may ever set your sights on. At sunset, you can cozy up to the fire pits, snap a selfie with your merlot, and toast to a day well-spent.

6This Food Tour Made Me Believe In Love At First Bite

I ate my way through the best and trendiest of the city's downtown district with Reno Food Tours. $65 scores you food and beverage tastings at six different restaurants, and the tour lasts two and a half to three hours.

My foodie self has a couple of choice thoughts to share. Number one, the pies at Wild Garlic Pizza made me believe in love at first bite and it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to a pristine slice of pizza. The restaurant suggests dipping any remaining crust in honey, which is a life-changing experience. No crust left behind!

Number two, the Smoked Salmon Crepes at Chez Louie are no joke. (Yes, those are edible flowers on the top, creating the most aesthetically-pleasing of presentations for Instagram. And yes, I did finish every single bite of this masterpiece duh.)

I suggest bringing your full appetite if you embark on tour of this underrated foodie central. You're going to need it.

7The Insta Opportunities Were Endless And So Diverse

Imagine waking up to this view every single morning? Talk about #blessed. It's quite different than the views from my New York City rooftop, and after going on this trip, I'd trade the skyscrapers for the mountains any day of the week. (Peace out forever, East Coast. The heart wants what the heart wants.)

After exploring the Nevada Museum of Art, do yourself (and your Insta game) a solid and head up to the Sky Room and Plaza you won't be disappointed. Get your sunnies out for some polaroid pics, with the Sierra Nevada mountains serving as the perfect backdrop.

8The Highest Artificial Climbing Wall Was The Adrenaline Rush Of A Lifetime

Standing at the bottom of this outdoor climbing wall next to the famed Reno sign, I felt so tiny. The Guinness Book of World Records dubbed this wall at the Whitney Peak's BaseCamp the "Tallest Artificial Climbing Wall," and it's safe to say it lives up to the hype. Just like Jack's beanstalk, it looks like it stretches all the way up to a faraway land amongst the clouds.

Obviously, I had to give it a try, and it was such an adrenaline rush. I was so focused on where I would place my hands and feet next, it didn't really dawn on me how high up the wall was from the cars and people on the streets below. Although I didn't make it the whole 164 feet to the top, it was a bucket list experience I'll truly never forget.

9Happy Hour At Rum Sugar Lime Made Me Feel Regal AF

It's always 5 o'clock somewhere, am I right? Just sitting next to this gorgeous rose gold cocktail (called the "Deathly Mahalos") made me feel like pure royalty at happy hour. With hints of pineapple decor throughout, exposed brick, and a unique menu of libations centered around rum, Rum Sugar Lime stole my heart. (Seriously though, when can I move in?) If I lived in Reno, I would claim this trendy bar as my weekend spot.

Bottoms up.

4 Signs Of Fall Allergies That Can Easily Be Mistaken For Cold Symptoms

$

Have you been coughing up a lung into your Pumpkin Spice Latte? Are your eyes too watery to try out that cute fall eyeshadow palette you fell in love with at Sephora? Before you start blaming a cold for your discomfort, you might want to double-check your symptoms. The thing is, that sniffle you think is the first sign that you're coming down with a nasty cold? It might actually be a sign of fall allergies, because yes, allergies aren't just a spring thing. Unfortunately, those suckers can wreak havoc on your immune system when you least expect it.

According to Dr. Purvi Parikh, an allergist and immunologist with Allergy and Asthma Network, you might not even realize that you're dealing with allergy symptoms if you aren't sure what to look for. Allergies are much more common than you might think: According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, more than 50 million Americans have some kind of allergy, which could be anything from food allergies to animal hair to latex. But, during the onset of fall, says Parikh, a seasonal, environment-based allergy could be to blame for your runny nose or persistent cough.

"Ragweed pollen is the major culprit in fall, which stays in [the] air until first frost," the allergist tells Elite Daily over email. But ragweed isn't the only one to blame for your suffering; mold could also be affecting you, Parikh adds. "Especially with hurricane and storm season, there are more leaks and water damage that cause mold indoors as well," she explains.

Usually the symptoms of allergies and the common cold are pretty similar, says Dr. Parikh, but one way to tell the difference is to pay attention to how long you've been feeling sick. If you've only been noticing signs for five to seven days, it's probably just a cold, she tells Elite Daily. Allergies, on the other hand, can last for weeks, unfortunately.

Of course, paying attention to the season also matters. "If you notice you get 'colds' every fall or spring, it's probably allergies and you should be tested," Dr. Parikh explains. Here are the signs to watch out for this fall.

,

Itchy, watery eyes

One warning sign that you might be reacting to an allergen instead of just a bug that's going around is how your eyes feel. Itchy symptoms in general are more likely to be caused by an allergy than a cold, says Dr. Parikh.

A cold, the allergist explains, will probably be accompanied by a higher fever than allergies, so if your temperature reaches 101 degrees Fahrenheit or above, be sure to get in touch with a doctor ASAP, because you're likely coming down with something more than just allergies.

Congested or runny nose

Sorry to get a little gross here, but one sure way to know if you have an allergy or just a cold is to take a close look at your mucus. Dr. Parikh explains that a runny nose could be an allergy sign, but the kind of discharge your body is producing could explain even more.

"In the beginning, both colds and allergies will cause a clear, liquid mucus, David Rosenstreich, M.D., director of the division of allergy and immunology in the department of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York, told Health. He explained that, as the symptoms progress, a cold will produce "a thicker, yellow mucus, whereas usually with allergies mucus always stays clear and watery."

A nasty cough

If you're experiencing shortness of breath, Dr. Parikh says you should be extra careful not to ignore this sign. "If you are having any breathing abnormalities such as cough, wheeze, or shortness of breath, don't take it lightly," she warns. "See a board-certified physician you likely need an inhaler."

Because allergic asthma causes 10 deaths a day (yes, really), Parikh says, seeking expert advice is crucial.

Eczema or hives

Sometimes, Dr. Parikh explains, your body might react to allergies with a skin rash like eczema or hives. If you notice this sign, be sure to check in with your own doctor to see what the best way to treat the rash is, though Healthline says that antihistamines should be able to soothe your itchy feels.

As for how to treat the rest of your fall allergy symptoms, Parikh says there are plenty of options that'll make autumn a bit more manageable overall. "For nasal symptoms, nasal steroid or nasal antihistamine sprays work best," she tells Elite Daily, adding that your doctor could also recommend a long-acting antihistamine.

No matter what treatment route you end up taking, understanding the culprit behind your symptoms is sure to help you feel your best so you can get back to enjoying your PSLs in peace.

'This Is Us' Season 3 Episode 1 Will Have A Major Twist, According To Mandy Moore

This Is Us returns for Season 3 next week, and fans have a ton of questions. The Season 2 finale left all of Pearsons in new places, with flash forwards revealing storylines including a new romance for Kevin, a new problem for Kate, and a reveal Randall's flash forward is much farther in the future than anyone realized. Meanwhile, clips of the premiere reveal the show will also flashback into the early 1970s when Rebecca and Jack first meet. But what fans might not expect is This Is Us Season 3 episode 1 is going to bring along a new big twist no one has foreseen.

There's been a lot of focus on Rebecca and Jack going into Season 3. Now Jack's passing has happened on the show, the series has an opportunity to delve into the immediate aftermath of the situation, and how all three triplets handled the passing of their father during the latter half of their senior year of high school.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Mandy Moore, who plays Rebecca in all the stages of her adult life, says she's looking forward to the juxtaposition:

I feel like were carrying some of the levity, and the lightness, and the sweetness, and the romanticism with the early Jack-and-Rebecca years, but obviously, then you bounce right back into the months post-Jacks death, and that is just, ugh. Its a sshow at home, and everybody is off the rails. Life is not going smoothly. Everythings falling apart.
This Is Us on YouTube

But though fans will get a look at two brand new time periods they've never seen before in the Pearson chronology, Moore believes it's a different storyline which will shock them to the core.

Theres something that doesnt involve my character thats a bit of a twist in the first episode that people are going to be like, 'Whaaa?'

As for if it's a good or a bad "Whaaa?," viewers will probably not be surprised to learn it's not good news. Prep those tissue boxes now.

Its a bad 'Whaaa?' Its not heartwarming. People are going to be like, 'Whaaa? Why? How? What?' At least I was, and I knew that it was coming, but still, when you read it, youre like, 'No. Whaaa?' so thats pretty interesting.
Rotten Tomatoes TV on YouTube

As for Rebecca's time in the present, Moore says the show will also dive into how she found love again, with Jack's best friend, Miguel. She also hopes it helps viewers understand Miguel better, and perhaps like him more.

It will paint a more fully realized picture of the kind of man that Miguel is, and maybe it wont be so surprising for people as to how and why Rebecca and Miguel find their way back into each others lives. Hes a really admirable man, and hes a man of quality character, and thats why he and Jack were such good friends... I think it will help people like Miguel more.

This Is Us Season 3 premieres on NBC on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at 9 p.m. ET.

Joe Biden's Response To The Kavanaugh Allegations Is A Serious Message

Reports about allegations that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh allegedly sexually assaulted California professor Christine Blasey Ford in the 1980s, which he denies, have practically broken the internet this week. In this wake of the allegations, several people have swept to Ford's defense, urging the FBI to take her claims seriously and investigate them to the fullest extent including former Vice President Joe Biden. If you haven't seen it, Joe Biden's response to the Kavanaugh allegations is arguably one of the most serious ones yet.

Biden addressed Ford's allegations during an appearance on NBC's Today show on Friday, Sept. 21, saying that Ford should not have to go through what Anita Hill went through." He added that Hill, who accused then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment in 1991, was vilified when she came forward by a lot of my colleagues." Thomas denied the allegations at the time, and a representative for the justice did not return Elite Daily's request for comment. At the time of the Hill hearings, Biden was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

"I think they should do an FBI investigation ... I wish I could have done more to prevent those questions and the way they asked them, said Biden, who presided over both Thomas confirmation hearings and Hills testimony. Biden has long faced criticism for the way he handled the hearings, and has since expressed his regret over how Hill was treated. I hope my colleagues learned from that," Biden continued.

Hill's case has returned to the spotlight amid Ford's accusations against Kavanaugh, which were made public in a Sept. 14 report from The New Yorker. According to Ford, the Supreme Court nominee allegedly pinned her down and tried to force himself on her during a party more than 35 years ago a claim that Kavanaugh has adamantly denied. "This is a completely false allegation. I have never done anything like what the accuser describesto her or anyone," Kavanaugh said in a statement, per CNBC. Elite Daily reached out to representatives of Kavanaugh for further comment, but did not hear back.

Since going public with her claims, Ford has been in negotiations for a hearing with the Senate Judiciary Committee, scheduled for Sept. 24, where she and Kavanaugh have both been invited to testify. Ford initially requested a full investigation by the FBI before she would testify, however, many Republicans have made it clear that they believe there is no need for an investigation. Later, in an email obtained by The New York Times on Sept. 20, Fords lawyer Debra Katz stuck by her client's request, but also said Ford would be open to testifying, as long as she and senators agree on terms that are fair and which ensure her safety," as Ford has been subjected to death threats and driven from her home since coming forward. However, Katz also said that an appearance on Sept. 24 "was not possible." According to NPR, the committee is expected to announce next steps on Sept. 21.

Until then, it's unclear how this situation will unfold. But if Ford does decide to take the stand, here's hoping that she gets treated fairly. It's the very least we should expect.

Rachel Lindsay & Bryan Abasolo's Astrological Compatibility Shows That Opposites Attract

$

Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo are undoubtedly one of the cutest Bachelorette success stories. Lindsay gave Abasolo the final rose during her season of the hit show, and the couple is still together and going strong. While they did get engaged on the finale, they haven't set a wedding date yet. (Let's be honest, they're probably holding out for a wedding special, not that I blame them.) But is there another reason they havent tied the knot yet? The answer to that may actually lie in Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo's astrological compatibility.

Let me explain. Lindsay was born April 21 under the sign of Taurus, and Abasolos birthday is Feb. 15, making him an Aquarius a very unique and uncommon pairing. The reason this is surprising is because these two signs are very opposite, and not always in the opposites attract way. In fact, Taurus and Aquarius tend to butt heads at best or actively avoid one another at worst. As you can imagine, any Taurus/Aquarius couple is sure to have its share of struggles (and then some). However, that doesnt automatically mean that its impossible for a Bull and Water Bearer couple to make it work. Love may not conquer all, but it can definitely put its thumb on the scale. Heres what we can guess about Lindsay and Abasolos relationship based on their zodiac signs.

,

Where they struggle to connect.

Taurus and Aquarius are not an easy match mostly because they just don't see eye-to-eye on many things and they have very different expectations of what a relationship should be like. Taurus wants security and stability, whereas Aquarius isnt really in a rush to settle down. (Or at least, they can come off this way.) This can be really triggering for Taurus who, in turn, can either shut down completely or try and hold on tighter. Neither of these are effective ways to hold on to an Aquarius, who requires a lot of confidence from their partner and plenty of space to do their own thing.

They also have totally different ways of viewing the world in general. Aquarius, being an air sign, tends to see the world more intellectually and is focused on ideas and humanitarian causes. Taurus, on the other hand, is a very grounded earth sign who's driven by sensual comfort and pragmatism and wants to feel safe, secure, and if possible have a little luxury in their lives. To Aquarius, that focus on material things can feel confining to their freedom, and they'll often look for the nearest exit. In essence, they are just very different kinds of people who usually find very little to connect on.

How they can still make it work.

Just because they have very little in common doesnt automatically mean the relationship is doomed and love is dead. There are some ways that they can actually negotiate the pain points and even turn their differences into strengths in the relationship. For example, Aquarius really struggles with expressing their feelings. It's not that this water sign doesnt have them (believe me they do), but they just can't quite say what they're feeling. Taurus, on the other hand, has absolutely no issue saying what is in their heart, and in turn can actually help Aquarius feel safe and loved enough to open up a bit and more quickly than they normally do.

They also can complement each other by compensating for each others weaknesses. My best friend and I call this the Bert and Ernie principal. Every couple has a Bert and an Ernie one who brings the structure, and one who brings the fun. Taurus and Aquarius are the ultimate Bert and Ernie, respectively. For instance, Aquarius can bring new and exciting experiences to Taurus life, and Taurus can help Aquarius with the practical, day-to-day life that they tend to let fall by the wayside. If they can find a balance, these signs have hopes for a bright future.

Their greatest strength as a couple.

There is one area in particular where these two have no problems at all, and thats (you guessed it!) in the bedroom. Taurus, ruled by Venus, is highly sensual and lives for physical touch. And Aquarius, for all their high-mindedness, is not afraid to get primal and freaky when it comes to horizontal fun times. A great sex life can really help smooth over the rough patches between these two. Its actually pretty easy for them to keep the passion burning bright, which again, bodes well for the longevity of their romance.

While only time will tell which way Lindsay and Abasolos relationship will go, all signs point to them successfully overcoming the difficulties in their astrological compatibility. Fingers crossed they make it and that we get that wedding spinoff. Come on ABC, make it happen! (After picking Colton as the new Bachelor, you kind of owe us. Just sayin.)

Fenty Beauty's Stunna Lip Paint In "Unveil" Is The Only Color You'll Need For Fall

In case you haven't noticed, warm shades of brown have been popping up on the lips of just about everyone this fall. From models on the runways to celebrities on the red carpet to influencers on Instagram, brown lips have been seen everywhere. But who else could declare this shade as the lip trend of fall 2018 other than Rihanna with the drop of Fenty Beauty's Stunna Lip Paint in "Unveil;" a long-lasting liquid lipstick in a delicious-looking chocolate-y brown color.

In the Instagram post unveiling the launch of "Unveil," Fenty Beauty shared in the caption, "Yall been wanting more shades... so guess what its #STUNNAWEEK! Introducing a new shade to the #STUNNA family, #UNVEIL. @badgalriri tested SEVERAL shades before landing on this rich chocolate brown that looks good on EVERYBODY!" The brand then went on to post a video of "Unveil" being put to the swatch test on four different, diverse skin tones, confirming what we already know: Fenty Beauty takes every skin tone into consideration, the chocolatey brown shade really does look good on everybody, and, of course, Rihanna is always right.

This new creamy, long-wear lip color is only the second Stunna Lip Paint ($24, FentyBeauty.com) to join the Fenty Beauty collection. In fact, it's been almost a year since the first Stunna Lip Paint dropped in the shade "Uncensored" (a high-intensity red) last November. So yeah, you could say the anticipation for a new Stunna shade has been building up for a while. The two universal lip shades round out Fenty Beauty's ever-inclusive line of 40 shades of foundations, ultra-illuminating highlighters, highly-pigmented eyeshadows, lipglosses, and more.

According to the brand, the Stunna Lip Paints are 12-hour liquid lipsticks with a soft matte finish that are high-intensity colors, yet super low maintenance, as they only need to be re-applied once every 12 hours. The color pay-off with one swipe is intensely pigmented, however, need not to be intimated, as Rihanna herself made sure that all Stunna lip shades look good on every skin tone.

Unveil's release is yet another monumental moment in a slew of a very exciting times for Rihanna. The second Stunna drop comes just after Rihanna graced the cover of Allure's "Best of Beauty" issue (with a tongue full of glitter, btw), and about a week after her first Savage x Fenty NYFW show, which not only displayed Rihanna's lust-worthy lingerie creations, but made one of the biggest steps toward real, boundless inclusion at NYFW and in the fashion industry in general. Not to mention, Fenty Beauty let everyone in on the secret that Rihanna actually sported this new shade at her show without anyone knowing. Sneaky sneaky.

Excited as I'm sure everyone is for a new shade finally entering the Stunna collection, it's only a matter of time before fans are even hungrier for more. I'd say keep an eye on @fentybeauty so you can be of the first to know when even more shades come, but really, we have to keep an eye on whatever event Rihanna graces next, considering she's probably secretly wearing a new Fenty product.

Being that it's a Friday and Unveil is finally here, I think we can all agree to enjoy this new launch and say, "Cheers to the freakin' weekend, I drink to that."

3 Reasons To Ask Out That Cute Person In Your Class & Get An "A" In Flirting

Asking someone out on a date can be intimidating. When it comes to shooting your shot, you might as well give it a try. In the words of Wayne Gretzky, "You miss every shot you don't take." If you want to ask out someone in class, there are some surprisingly great reasons to do so. For instance, Facebook Data Sciences reports that 28 percent of married college graduates went to the same school as their spouse and 15 percent went to the same high school. This is great news for you if you've been crushing hard on the cutie that sits next to you in history class.

Asking someone out at a party may seem easier than doing so before class, but you could get distracted and forget to make concrete plans with them. Asking after class is a great time to schedule something concrete because you're both more alert. In class, you can also drop the suggestion in a conversation about homework or go the old-school route and pass them a note. If you want to ask your class crush out, but you're nervous, check out the following reasons why it might just work!

,

1You have a solid reason.

Being in class together might mean a few things. It could mean that you've had a chance to get to know each other at least a little bit. This can make the transition to suggesting a date outside of class a little bit easier compared to if you didn't know each other at all. If you talk frequently, you probably know enough about them to have a really fun date. If you haven't spoken with each other at all, there could still be recognition from seeing each other in class and maybe even a mutual crush happening.

2You already have built-in content to discuss on the date.

Once you make the date, being classmates helps you out a lot. You already have a lot of material to discuss simply by being in the same class. If it's a major-specific course, you can also talk about your shared field and why both of you chose it. You can also dish about your funny or strict professor or your fellow classmates.

3The date is more likely to happen.

It may be easier to ask someone out at a party because the environment is definitely more laidback and fun compared to class. Keep in mind that because parties are so casual, even if you ask someone out, you could forget to ask for their number or end up leaving without making concrete plans. Since you and your crush are probably more alert for class than you would be at a party, you can make the plans and exchange numbers right there. Or, if you are both leaving class and have a free afternoon, you could wander into a coffee shop as soon as class gets out.

No matter the scenario, it can be intimidating to ask someone on a date. Choosing the best time and environment to talk to your crush about hanging out can definitely help ease your nerves. These are only a few reasons that asking a class mate out could really work. Overall, the odds are in your favor for when you feel ready to talk to that Chem 101 crush you feel a certain... chemistry with.

The Dried Flower Nail Art Trend Is Making Florals For Fall Groundbreaking

When I was in high school, after any school dance or any event that required a corsage, my mom would always try to convince me to save the flowers and press them in a telephone book using parchment paper. According to her, I would want them later. At the time, I couldn't quite figure out what I would possibly need those pressed flowers for, but after seeing the dried flower nails trend up and down my Instagram feed, I now know how I could've used the petals from all of those corsages.

OK, well, while I no longer have a telephone book (shoutout to Google) or those old, dried-out blooms from my high school years, I am willing to dry out old flowers from the corner bodega in the name of this latest trendy nail look. More importantly, my mother will be thrilled to learn that her obsession with keeping old flowers is now being repositioned as a beauty trend.

Essentially, the dried nail trend involves taking teeny tiny dried out flowers and adhering them onto the nail as nail art. By the looks of it, petals from the carnations and roses from all of those homecomings, proms, and winter formals might actually be too large to recreate the dried flower nails look. Instead, the trend incorporates literally the smallest little flowers you can imagine.

After scrolling through the Instagram feeds of various nail technicians trying out the dried flowers trend, it seems most of nail pros start with primarily light colors as a base coat, so that the petals and flowers will pop. Then, in each design, the blossoms are delicately placed on the nail beds and sealed off with a top coat.

To get the full rundown of how exactly this look is created, I enlisted the help of one of the masterminds behind the trend: New York-based nail technician Jessie P. And yes, the process seems to be just as painstaking as it looks. "The dried flowers come in like a bunch together, so I usually have to use tiny scissors to cut them piece by piece and place them on the nails with a pair of tweezers," says Jessie. "I would say, because the flowers are so intricate, theyre really difficult to work with. Sometimes, I need to cut like five pieces out and only two of them will be usable if Im going for a certain look. And sometimes, the petals will fall off when I try to seal them with the gel."

When it comes to sealing the dainty petals in place, Jessie explains that she uses a gel polish as an overcoat for the design. "I usually use structure gel to dome over the flowers so the nail will stay smooth to touch."

As you can tell from Jessie's explanation of the process, creating the dried flower nail look is not for the faint of heart, nor is it for someone whose patience is limited. If you're looking to recreate the tiny blossom look yourself, just keep in mind that patience, attention to detail, and the ability to work with small, intricate tools will lead to the most beautiful, floral nail beds. Godspeed, nail enthusiasts!

16 Pop Culture Couples' Costumes For Halloween 2018 That Are Actually Original

$

Our love lives are probably far from enviable, but when Halloween comes around, we can disregard any flaws we might have in our real-life relationships and temporarily embody the pop culture pairs we admire most. Whether you want to emulate a fictional or real-life couple this Halloween season, original couple costume ideas are always crowd pleasers, and we've got your back if you're struggling with wardrobe inspiration. Although we won't judge if you want to try out more than one of these suggestions, you'll definitely want to consider these pop culture couples costumes for Halloween 2018.

While dressing as certain celeb pairs never becomes irrelevant (we're looking at you, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen), your costume isn't a true pop culture pick if it isn't a take on a brand new famous couple. Look no further than the recent influx of speedily engaged celeb couples for a respectable Halloween costume, but don't count out your favorite TV and movie pairings just yet. Thanks to 2018's revival of the rom com and welcoming back of some classic characters, representing a fictional duo ought to be just as fun as copying the looks of a real-life couple this year.

The possibilities of pop culture costumes are endless, but we have several below to get your mind stirring.

,

1Ariana Grande & Pete Davidson

No matter how you feel about this duo, nothing says "celebrity couple in 2018" like pop sensation Grande and Saturday Night Live star Davidson. The two made headlines for their quick engagement and avid social media posts featuring each other. Pull off one of Grande's trademark high ponytails and don a bleach blonde wig to fit Davidson's current look for your "Grandson" ensemble to steal the show at a Halloween party.

2Midge & Joel Maisel ('The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel')

When we last saw the Maisels in Season 1 of the Amazon Prime hit, they had just hooked up after being separated for the entirety of the season. Joel then caught enough of Midge's triumphant comedy act to feel simultaneously betrayed and awestruck, while Midge ended the series on a victorious note, hinting there's more conflict in store for this seemingly on-again couple. They might not be the happiest pair at the moment, but dressing as these Upper West Siders will fill in any fellow revelers about The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel if they've yet to watch it.

3Cole Sprouse & Lili Reinhart / Jughead & Betty ('Riverdale')

If you're pressed for time and have multiple costume parties to go to (after all, Halloween is on a Wednesday this year), you can attempt this sneaky double dip and take advantage of this onscreen-turned-IRL couple. Riverdale fans speculated about Sprouse and Reinhart actually dating as long ago as March 2017, but the two basically confirmed their real-life relationship in a subtle way this past summer. Try copying their Met Gala looks for one party and dress as their Riverdale equivalents Jughead and Betty for your next hangout.

4Mr. Incredible & Elastigirl ('The Incredibles')

If your Halloween costume is a family affair this year, matching supersuits from The Incredibles are a must, but if it's just you and your partner out on the town, the Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl outfits are a fun pick following the summer release of Incredibles 2. Finding exact replicas of the married couple's suits could be a pricey costume idea, but you're only an adorable superhero couple once, right?

5Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

Whether you and your SO want to reenact the looks from their engagement announcement or hunt down a wedding dress and military regalia, dressing as Harry and Meghan will never be as topical as it is this year. At this time in 2017, they had only made one official public appearance together, and their engagement was confirmed in late November, spoiling any opportunity to dress as the couple at the height of their wedding plans. We may have to wait until Prince George gets married to rock a relevant royal couples costume again, so grab this opportunity while it lasts!

6Alex Rodriguez & Jennifer Lopez

The glamorously low-key couple were a little more public in 2018, and their Met Ball outfits from the past two years are what Halloween costumes are made for. If you have a passion for sewing, recreating J. Lo's 2018 gala dress can be your special autumn project, but taking the easy way out by tracking down a bodysuit and a Yankees jersey is a simpler choice that I definitely wouldn't judge.

7Chrissy Teigen & John Legend

When will this couple not be relevant? From Teigen teasing about Legend's similarity to Arthur the aardvark to Legend being the dorky dad we all love, representing this longtime pair comes with Legend's EGOT-making Emmy award this year. Have your phone at full charge to emulate Teigen's hilarious tweets and create some shiny hardware to resemble Legend's newest award. Teigen would probably approve if you went trick-or-treating with an Arthur doll, too.

8Cheryl & Toni ('Riverdale')

The onetime enemies have since kicked off a budding romance, and their style game is always on point. Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has even tweeted out a stylish sneak peek of the two in Season 3, so if you want to emulate some good vibes for the couple in upcoming episodes, rock the same Serpents jacket and black lacy dress seen in his photo. Riverdale's third season premieres three weeks before Halloween this year, so there's also the possibility of Choni rocking outfits in these episodes that are too good to pass on by the time Halloween rolls around.

9Earn & Van ('Atlanta')

These two are the definition of "it's complicated," but underneath all of their issues is a deep love for each other. What they admire about each other is often what they can't stand about the other, so more couples can probably relate to them than you may initially think. Instead of dressing in their typical everyday clothes, you could try recreating Earn and Van's German festival looks for a more recognizable costume.

10Vision & Scarlet Witch ('Avengers: Infinity War')

Their love affair was doomed from the start, but Avengers: Infinity War's brief interlude of Wanda and Vision's romantic Scottish getaway is totally worthy of a spinoff movie. After the superhero hit's bleak cliffhanger ending and so little information about its 2019 sequel being out there, reminding fellow Marvel fans about Vision and Scarlet Witch's quiet bond will be safe territory to tread. While a DIY Scarlet Witch costume is definitely possible, there are adult-sized Vision costumes to help you capture his intricate face.

11Rachel & Nick ('Crazy Rich Asians')

Recreating this couple's comfy pose on the Crazy Rich Asians poster is a must. Besides entailing clothes you probably already have in your closet, dressing as Rachel and Nick celebrates the movie being the box office sensation of the summer. We're still holding out for Constance Wu or Henry Golding to score a SNL hosting gig, but having a Halloween photoshoot in their costumes is good enough for now.

12Lara Jean Covey & Peter Kavinsky ('To All the Boys I've Loved Before')

If you're on a college campus this Halloween, you'll probably spot several Lara Jean and Peter pairs, but TBH, I don't mind the easy, widespread appeal of this costume. The teen sweethearts soothed our cynical hearts in the Netflix hit this summer, and pulling off their looks ought to be just as sweet. Author Jenny Han has broken down the style of her heroine on Twitter, making your reconstruction job a breeze, while your Peter Kavinsky equivalent requires little more than an old sports team hoodie from high school.

13Evelyn & Lee ('A Quiet Place')

If you can make an Emily Blunt and John Krasinski couple costume work, be my guest, but their horror movie equivalents as Evelyn and Lee in A Quiet Place will probably be easier to achieve. The look of Krasinski in Lee's red sweater has become iconic, and if paired with Evelyn's maxi dress and cardigan, your post-apocalyptic vibes are complete. Bonus points if you and your date take up sign language in time for your Halloween party.

14Randall & Beth ('This Is Us')

Yes, couples recreating Jack and Rebecca's wedding day look exist and are adorable, but Randall and Beth deserve more holiday love. If the '70s just aren't your style, embracing the modern-day look of Mama and Papa Pearson 2.0 is the perfect solution. You may want to prep Beth's "I call marriage" speech or any of Randall's emotional monologues to entertain your fellow partygoers. Seeing as Thanksgiving is the next big holiday after Halloween, the Randall of your pair can also get into character with a sexy "Thanksgiving dad" dance.

15Harper & Charlie ('Set It Up')

Before To All the Boys I've Loved Before made you cry about your lack of sweet high school romances, Set It Up was the summer's first Netflix charmer. Dubbed by Twitter fans as the new Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, co-stars Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch played a pair of overworked assistants striving to set up their bosses. Your best bet for recognizability with this look is to track down the characters' clothing from Harper's friend's engagement party. Of course, the look also has to be topped off with a pizza box.

16Glenn Weiss & Jan Friedlander Svendsen

In 2017, Bonnie and Clyde co-stars Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty were the awards show pair who inspired a Twitter frenzy when they incorrectly announced La La Land as the Oscar-winning Best Picture. At the 2018 Emmy Awards, it was Outstanding Directing of a Variety Special winner Weiss and his girlfriend Svendsen who caught viewers' attention for a far better reason. When accepting his award onstage, Weiss asked Svendsen to marry him, warming the hearts of hundreds of Hollywood cynics in the audience. Find yourself a dazzling dress and get your guy a long-haired wig before building a DIY trophy to complete the award-winning look.

Happy Halloween, pop culture junkies! May your nights be filled with plenty of clever cultural references and photo opportunities.

These Tweets About "Why I Didn't Report" Are Slamming Trump's Response To Christine Blasey Ford

President Donald Trump really did it this time. In a series of tweets shared to his Twitter account on Friday, Sept. 21, he appeared to question the credibility of Christine Blasey Ford, the California professor who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault from the 1980s, which Kavanaugh denies. The White House did not respond to Elite Daily's request for comment or clarification on the tweet. But the tweet prompted immediate and widespread outrage on Twitter, and now, people are sharing their own experiences with the viral hashtag #WhyIDidntReport. With any luck, these tweets about "Why I Didn't Report" should help everyone, the president included, learn a bit more about the seriousness of sexual misconduct and why victims don't always come forward with their stories.

For the past week, Trump has remained fairly quiet on Ford's claims that Kavanaugh allegedly assaulted her at a party more than 35 years ago, which he has categorically denied. "This is a completely false allegation. I have never done anything like what the accuser describesto her or anyone," he said in a statement to CNBC. Representatives for Kavanaugh did not respond to Elite Daily's request for further comment. But on Friday morning, Trump finally addressed the topic, declaring on Twitter that if Ford's alleged experience with Kavanaugh was so bad, she would have reported it to law enforcement. He wrote:

I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!

Alyssa Milano, the actress who helped popularize the #MeToo movement, was one of many people who immediately fired back at Trump, telling him to "listen the f*ck up" while simultaneously calling on her supporters to share their stories on the platform.

"... I didnt want to get in trouble for drinking."

"... His parents were richer & better connected than my parents."

And then, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf swept in with a perfect summary:

Many of the stories shared on Twitter closely align with Ford's allegations. In a Sept. 16 interview with The Washington Post, she told the outlet that she feared she would get in trouble for being at a party where teenagers were drinking. Im not ever telling anyone this. This is nothing, it didnt happen, and he didnt rape me," was how she explained her thoughts at the time to the paper.

Since going public with her claims, Ford has reportedly received multiple death threats, which forced her and her two children to move out of their home. She's also been entangled in negotiations with members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who have called on her to testify about her allegations against Kavanaugh. Ford initially said she wouldn't testify until the FBI investigated her claims, however, she has since indicated that she would be willing to testify, as long as she and senators agree on terms that are fair and which ensure her safety.

Moving forward, perhaps we should stop asking victims why they waited so long to do so and instead focus on how to better support them. Just a thought.

6 Myths About PCOS Debunked, Because Knowledge Is Power & You Deserve The Facts

$

0

September is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Month, and in case you aren't familiar with the condition, PCOS is a hormonal imbalance that affects about one in 10 women of reproductive age. Since the condition is so common, you'd think there would be more education on the subject but, sometimes, PCOS symptoms (such as acne, unusual bodily hair growth or loss, irregular periods, and unexpected changes in weight) can be confusing, and oftentimes they go unnoticed or untreated for years, or are confused for another illness. Though more awareness and education on this condition is emerging, there are still a handful of myths about PCOS that often lead to misinformation and misdiagnosis.

According to Dr. Janelle Luk, co-founder and medical director of Generation Next Fertility in New York City, women with PCOS experience an imbalance in their reproductive hormones; specifically, Luk explains, this means there are too many male hormones (called androgens) in the body, and not enough female hormones (progesterone). As a result, Luk says, that hormonal imbalance interferes with a woman's ovulation, and many other aspects of her overall health.

Luk tells Elite Daily that when people think of PCOS, many tend to think of the fertility struggles that can be associated with the condition. And while PCOS can indeed make pregnancy more difficult (but not impossible more on that in a bit), its also important to note that PCOS impacts so much more than just fertility. "The truth is, studies show that more than 50 percent of women with PCOS will have diabetes or prediabetes before the age of 40, and the risk of heart attack can be multiple times higher in women with PCOS," Luk explains. "PCOS also increases ones risk of having a metabolic disease."

According to Luk, its important that women everywhere know the facts about PCOS so they dont assume things like, Well I dont want to get pregnant so PCOS doesnt matter to me. The truth is, Luk says, the condition impacts your body on multiple levels.

Too often, she adds, women suffer in silence until they're diagnosed with PCOS later in life, when they're dealing with things like infertility, years after they first began experiencing the symptoms. "You do not want [that] to happen, which is why you want to be fully informed about the statistics, symptoms, even your family history especially [since], for many women, it can begin to develop soon after their first period," Luk explains.

To begin informing yourself, here are six common PCOS myths, debunked.

,

Cysts On Your Ovaries Are An Automatic Sign Of PCOS

First of all, according to Luk, just having ovarian cysts alone isnt enough for a PCOS diagnosis. "Lots of women without PCOS have cysts on their ovaries, and lots of women with PCOS dont have cysts," she tells Elite Daily over email. "Thats why its important that you have a doctor assess other signs for PCOS."

Luk says these other symptoms can include irregular periods, no periods at all (caused by lack of ovulation), or unusually high levels of male hormones (aka androgens), which tend to physically present themselves as excess hair on the face and body, or acne that seems excessive or abnormal. Someone with PCOS may also notice that the hair on the top of their head is thinning, says Luk.

And while cysts aren't a guaranteed indicator of PCOS, the expert adds that this particular sign "may become apparent during a gynecological examination with an ultrasound."

If You Have PCOS, Youll Never Be Able To Get Pregnant

Though the condition often leads to infertility issues due to its effects on menstrual cycles and ovulation, Luk stresses that this does not mean a woman with PCOS can't ever be a mother who carries her own child. "Thats where reproductive endocrinologists like me come in, and we can help you get pregnant both naturally and via fertility treatments," Luk explains. "We help assess your own bodys cycle, hormone levels, and your unique situation as a woman and patient, and create a plan that can include everything from a modified diet (because food also impacts your hormone levels) to medical intervention."

The good news, Luk adds, is that PCOS is one of the most common, but treatable causes of infertility in women. "Once we diagnose it, we can find the best plan for you to help you ovulate, which will thus help you get pregnant," she tells Elite Daily.

You Have PCOS Because Of Something You Did

If you think you did something that caused your body to develop PCOS, Luk says that is most definitely not the case. "PCOS has several known roots, from genetics to hormone imbalances from within your body. You didnt choose to have increased androgen production in your body, and you certainly arent controlling that," she says.

In fact, Luk explains, many women begin developing PCOS when they're quite young, well before they even know what the condition is. "More and more scientists think that insulin may play a role [in] PCOS and believe women with PCOS have higher insulin resistance," the doctor explains. Again, if you have PCOS, this is not something that you caused yourself.

"Overall its important to note that this isnt your fault, but the empowering thing to remember is that you do have the power to treat it with your physician and wellness support team," Luk tells Elite Daily.

PCOS Is Strictly Genetic

According to Luk, one of the biggest things to remember about this health condition is this: PCOS is not one-size-fits-all. "Though its true that a family history of PCOS can increase your chances of developing it as well, that isnt the only cause," she tells Elite Daily. "In fact, recent studies have shown us that other environmental factors play a role in the development of PCOS." These factors, the doctor explains, can include unhealthy behaviors like smoking, a poor/unbalanced diet, and lack of exercise. Another common factor, Luk says, is obesity.

"That being said, there are also countless women who have PCOS and are not overweight. The key thing here to repeat is that PCOS is NOT one-size-fits-all," Luk reiterates.

If You Dont Have A Regular Period, You Probably Have PCOS

While some women with PCOS do have irregular periods, it's not the end-all-be-all, according to Luk. "Abnormal periods can be due to multiple things: over-exercising, fibroids in your uterus, stress, thyroid issues, severe diets, even breastfeeding," she explains.

The key here, the doctor says, is to make sure you notice when your period is irregular (or not happening at all), and then talk to your doctor about what might be causing this.

Birth Control Is The Best Way to Treat/Regulate Irregular Periods

"Though [birth control] was once the most common way women with irregular periods were treated, this is no longer the case and not necessary for every woman," Luk tells Elite Daily. "In fact, in some ways [pills] are only a band-aid for your PCOS symptoms it doesnt stop them or fix PCOS, it only masks the symptoms like your period problems."

Again, birth control isnt a one-size-fits-all treatment for PCOS, and in fact, there are several treatment options that can help with PCOS symptoms, especially when they're related to your period. According to Luk, these include lifestyle modifications (i.e. healthier eating habits, exercise routines, etc.), fertility medications, and even a surgical procedure known as ovarian drilling (which Luk says can increase your chances of successful ovulation by, essentially, triggering it).

"As you can see, there are several options, from the traditional to the holistic, when it comes to treating your body and your period," Luk explains. "The best path for you? Its totally a personal choice you should be making with your doctor, keeping in mind your body, your symptoms, and your overall reproductive goals."

5 Health Benefits Of Cinnamon That Might Just Make The Stuff Better Than Pumpkin Spice

My favorite way to eat cinnamon is, frankly, any way. While I love pumpkin spice as much as anyone, cinnamon holds a special place in my heart because it tastes fantastic in sweet treats like coffee cake and in savory foods like a comforting curry. TBH, I would probably eat cinnamon even if it were unhealthy, but thankfully, the stuff is actually amazing for your body. With these five health benefits of cinnamon and an infinite amount of taste benefits, you might just fall in love with this fall flavor the way that I have that is, if it isn't already one of your go-to autumn spices.

There's no need to eat mountains of the stuff if you don't want to, though. According to Mike Roussell, Ph.D., co-founder of Neuro Coffee, a small serving is plenty to get your body all of the health-boosting goodness. "Around one tablespoon of cinnamon is the amount you need," he tells Elite Daily over email. "Some studies have worked with less, but with a dose of one tablespoon you are hedging your bets toward an effective dose."

But, as tempting as it might be after seeing those cinnamon challenge videos, never take the stuff as a shot, cautions Monica Auslander Moreno, MS, RD, LD/N, nutrition consultant for RSP Nutrition, as she tells Elite Daily over email that it's a definite choking hazard. Instead, you're better off adding the spice to a tasty dish or stirring it into a hot tea for the perfect, healthy, fall evening.

,

Cinnamon reduces your blood sugar

"Cinnamon has been shown to reduce blood sugar following a meal," Dr. Roussell says. By making your body less sensitive to insulin, he explains, the fall spice helps you regulate blood sugar, which could in turn affect a whole host of things even your mood. That's some pretty powerful stuff from just a little bit of spice, if you ask me.

It protects your brain

Your favorite apple spice muffins could actually be helping your brain stay healthy and strong, thanks to the power of cinnamon. According to Moreno, the ingredient can go a long way to prevent something called neurodegeneration, which refers to brain diseases like Alzheimer's, dementia, and Parkinson's.

The spice gives your heart a healthy boost

In a study of 60 people with type 2 diabetes, published in the medical journal Diabetes Care, researchers found that as little as one gram of cinnamon per day can significantly lower your LDL cholesterol levels (that's the "bad" kind of cholesterol) without hurting HDL (aka the "good" cholesterol) levels.

To keep your heart pumping at its strongest, Moreno suggests adding cinnamon to your everyday routine. "I recommend a dash here and a dash there," she tells Elite Daily, "sprinkling it on food or in tea or coffee, cooking with it, etc."

It also keeps inflammation to a minimum

"All spices have anti-inflammatory benefits, and most are antimicrobial," explains Moreno. This means that they fight against microorganisms that are potentially harmful to your body, she says.

What's more, research published in the journal Food & Function found Sri Lankan cinnamon to be one of the most anti-inflammatory foods of a total of 115 foods tested in the study. Dang, you go, cinnamon.

Cinnamon apparently fights fungal infections, too

Have you ever tried a cinnamon-flavored toothpaste? I know that probably sounds super weird, but according to Moreno, the spice can help keep your teeth clean, thanks to the fact that it can play a role in fighting fungal infections in the body. One study, published in the journal Acta BioMedica, found cinnamon oil to be effective in fighting all 10 of the bacterial species involved in tooth decay.

So what I'm going to take away from this is that you're basically brushing your teeth when you're drinking cinnamon tea. As if I needed another excuse to load up on cinnamon.

Instagram-Stalking Your Ex's New Relationship Is Tempting, But Here's Why I'm Stopping

$

If you have a smartphone and an ex, chances are you've looked at their new boyfriend or girlfriend's posts on social media. Instagram-stalking your ex's new relationship can be weird, funny, or upsetting, but above all else, it's tempting. I mean, come on there's a little window into your ex's new life and their new relationship at the tip of your fingers! Whether you're over them or not, scrolling through the comments on a cutesy pic of the two of them, watching their stories from a friend's account so they can't see that you've viewed them, or screen-grabbing a post to send to your friends is not a good use of your time.

Insta-stalking your ex's new relationship is not productive and it's not healthy. I'm saying this from experience. I'm guilty of doing all of the above things when keeping tabs on an ex and their new relationship and it's never not once made me feel better. I have one ex whose posts about his new girlfriend are super cringe-worthy and cheesy, and while those posts reinforce the fact that we are not meant to be together, it doesn't make me happy to see them. And if you're not over an ex, seeing snapshots of their new relationship could be tortuous. So why do that to yourself? Of course, I want to see who my ex is now dating and then compare myself to them in detail, but I'll confess it always makes me feel petty.

Scrolling through your ex and their new boo's accounts might be entertaining at times, but it can keep you from moving on with your life and finding your own happiness. Excessive social media use in general can cause stress, anxiety, and even depression, and make you feel like your life isn't as great as everyone else's. If you're still pining for your ex, comparing their seemingly-happy life to yours probably won't cheer you up.

Theodore Roosevelt wisely said, "Comparison is the thief of joy," and that's obviously relevant now as much as it ever was. When I find myself comparing my vacations, my concert seats, or my Friday night plans with other people's on social media, it can be hard to appreciate the things that I do have. If I'm dating someone, it only makes me compare my current guy to my ex. And if I'm single, looking at my ex's brunch photos with his new girlfriend only makes me feel more alone.

It's also important to realize that what your ex and his new love are sharing on social media might be very different from what's happening in their real lives. Instagram can be a projection of an identity into the world and who knows? Maybe their "sushi date night with my honey" actually gave them food poisoning, or maybe their "three-month anniversary hike" was capped off by a nasty fight. Just like I'll choose to post a flattering pic of when I actually do my hair instead of a pic of me in all my post-yoga/top knot/sweatpants glory, your ex and his bae are only going to show the world the best parts of their relationship.

Let's say you're totally over your ex but still find yourself checking out their latest vacation pics or following their wedding hashtag. If looking at their posts doesn't make you feel one way or the other, you might just be satisfying your curiosity of, "What are they up to?" I tend to think that this kind of checking in on an ex via social media is OK, just like when I saw wedding photos of my old college boyfriend a few months ago and I thought, "Aw, I'm happy for him." I didn't feel the urge to go down the rabbit hole of his new wife's account so I didn't. I went about my day.

So, if your attitude towards your ex is charged, either with feelings of anger, regret, or nostaliga, stalking them on social media is not going to do you any favors. I have an ex I really do not like, so even though I did check out the dress his girlfriend wore to his birthday party (it was a little extra), I'm not going to again. I don't need that energy or those visuals in my life. Instead, I'm going to take the six minutes I'd waste looking at an ex's social media-glossed life and spend it figuring out what dress I'm going to wear to my own birthday party.

The Full Moon In Aries 2018 Will Be Way More Dramatic Than You Think, So Hold On Tight

$

If the full moon tends to be an emotionally challenging time for you, you're not alone. For as gorgeous as the cosmic effect may be, even I often feel apprehensive toward an upcoming full moon. To put it bluntly, this fear comes from the fact that, astrologically speaking, full moons have the power to turn your world upside-down. If the lunar cycle was an ocean wave, the full moon would be the moment that wave crashes onto the shore. It's beautiful, but it's also a mess. If you're already feeling a sense of foreboding, then the full moon in Aries 2018 is proof that your intuition is spot on.

For one thing, full moons always blow through your idea of reality and show you a new perspective; one that might not feel so comfortable. Because they always occur in the opposite zodiac sign of whatever sign the sun is currently in, they reveal what's been lurking beneath the surface. Turning over rocks to find out what creatures have been living in its shadows, the full moon makes it especially difficult to avoid facing the gritty truth. Since the upcoming Aries full moon on September 24, 2018 will receive complex and conflicting energy from other planets, this one has the potential to really put you through the wringer.

Deep-rooted Fears May Float To The Surface

During this full moon in Aries, there's a chance that painful, possibly even traumatic memories from your past will rise back up again. Because the moon will form an excessive conjunction with Chiron ruler of fear, insecurity, and vulnerability you can expect this cosmic event to dredge up skeletons from the dustiest corners of your closet.

However, Chiron isn't a planet with bad intentions. There's a reason Chiron is so concerned with your darkest pain and most excruciating fears. It knows that the only way you'll ever heal from these anxieties is by facing them head on, proving to yourself that you're stronger than anything. Because of the full moon's association with Chiron, it also has the power to be an incredibly transformative time. Ready to rise beyond your despair and regain your power? Although this sounds easier said than done, the upcoming full moon in Aries can help you get there.

You Could Be Faced With Inhibiting Obstacles

Full moons are a moment of culmination, revelation, and reward. It's when the intentions that you set on the previous new moon reach a sense of completion. However, because this full Aries moon will form a nearly claustrophobic t-square with inhibiting, restricting, and karmic Saturn, there's a chance that any sense of fulfillment will be that much harder to find.

Saturn erects barriers and enforces discipline when necessary. Without Saturn, it would be very hard to stay committed to your projects and to know the rules that you definitely shouldn't break. However, too much energy from Saturn and it can feel as though you're trapped.

However, the full moon's connection with Saturn makes its reward that much more tantalizing. If you feel as though you're locked in a small room, don't lose hope. Find a way to climb out of the window instead.

Do Whatever It Takes To Reach The Finish Line

Clearly, this full moon is blossoming with dramatic and traumatic energy. However, it's important to remember that nothing worthwhile has ever been accomplished without strife. In fact, obstacles are what give you enough passion to go the extra mile and earn whatever you're setting out to achieve.

Allow this full moon in Aries, no matter how challenging it may be, to inspire you to work even harder and encourage you never to give up. With the unstoppable source of fire that Aries contains, you have all fuel that you need to overcome anything that stands in your way. Just remember to embrace the initiating spark that this full moon will bring.

Who Is Suga From BTS? Yoongi Is More Than A Rapper, So Prepare To Be Wowed By His Talent

BTS has been slaying the music game in South Korea ever since their debut in 2013 and they've always had international appeal, but starting in 2017, they began achieving unprecedented levels of success internationally that solidified K-pop as must-hear music across the globe, dropping hit song after hit song that broke records on the Billboard, iTunes, and Spotify. Let's not even get into their music videos that pretty much break YouTube every time. It's no surprise that each member of a band with so much success is ber talented, so I'm not joking when I say that Jungkook, Jimin, V, Suga, RM, Jin, and J-Hope's talents are endless. But right now, I'd like to focus on one member in particular: Who is Suga from BTS? Well, his real name is Min Yoongi, he's 25 years old, and I can go on for days about how amazing he is.

1. He's BTS' lead rapper.

Suga's rap skills will have you floored, which is why he has the official role of BTS' lead rapper. According to Billboard, Suga had an established career as an underground rapper before he got into the K-pop game, which means he was a sick rapper before BTS was even a thing. Just check out this throwback video of Suga participating in a rap battle during Big Hit Entertainment's audition process way back in 2010 (that ultimately led to his selection as a member of BTS). Sure, his shark hair is so 2010, but his rap skills are ageless and undeniable. Check him out!

Records No.93 on YouTube

No wonder Big Hit saw something in him!

2. But he's not just a rapper. He's a producer, too.

Suga's talents go way beyond rapping. He's an accomplished songwriter and producer as well. He produced two tracks on BTS' latest album Love Yourself: Answer called "Her" and "Trivia: Seesaw" (his solo track in which he also shows off his singing skills, FYI).

Actually, he just released a killer remix to "Trivia: Seesaw" that mashes up the song with BTS' 2015 track, I Need U. Listen to it below. You won't regret it.

But he doesn't just produce for BTS. Check out "Wine," a track he produced for South Korean pop-star Suran that hit #2 on the Gaon Digital Chart (South Korea's music charts) and won tons of awards.

3. AND he plays the piano!

On top being able to blow your mind as an amazing rapper, lyricist, dancer, and generally gorgeous human being, you can go ahead and add being a mind-blowingly good pianist to Suga's never-ending list of talents.

on YouTube

4. He's got an alias for his solo work, Agust D.

Obviously, with all this musical talent, Suga has to put out his own solo work, too. His solo alias, Agust D, is derived from his BTS stage name spelled backward and the initials of his hometown, Daegu Town. He released his self-titled mixtape under the alias in 2016.

ibighit on YouTube

5. He's not afraid to address serious social issues.

Speaking of Agust D, Suga took the opportunity to address real-life issues that he cares deeply about on his solo mixtape, like mental health and the pressures of fame. In his track "The Last," he opened up about his experience dealing with depression and social phobia in a way that really resonated with fans going through similar challenges.

Jeonilysm on YouTube

6. He likes taking pictures, thank goodness.

Suga posts so many gorgeous pictures, which I am extremely grateful for. I mean, I'm lucky if I get one selfie a month from V, which is why Suga's regular photos keep me fed so well.

GLORIOUS.

How does someone this beautiful exist?!

6. He's a different person offstage.

It might surprise you, after watching a BTS performance and witnessing Suga's loud, in-your-face rapping style, that the rapper is actually a really low-key person offstage. Even with his bandmates, he can be very reserved and chill (he's known to enjoy sleeping on his days off). But that doesn't mean he doesn't have the same amount of tenderness, love, and care for his bandmates as some of the more outwardly affectionate members do (lookin' at you, Jimin). Suga cares for his bandmates quietly, something they often tease him about like in the interview below in which J-Hope and V hilariously display how Suga takes care of them without looking at them.

multitabi sub on YouTube

In short, Suga is amazing in every single way an indispensable part of what makes BTS the global superstars they are.
